Packages Multimon
The original multimon decoder, kept for the modes its successor dropped

Decodes a set of audio-band digital modes -- POCSAG paging, AX.25 at 1200 baud, DTMF, ZVEI and others -- from a sound card or a file, printing what it finds as text.
Mostly you want multimon-ng, the maintained rewrite, which this catalog also carries and which covers more modes. This is the original, and it is carried because the Blend carries both and because a mode occasionally behaves differently between them. If you are following older instructions that name multimon specifically, this is what they meant.
Demodulated audio, usually piped from an SDR tool or taken from a receiver. The sample rate must be what it expects.
- apt:
multimon
Superseded in practice: multimon-ng is where development went and where new modes appear. Both being installed is harmless -- the binaries have different names -- but there is rarely a reason. Like its successor it reports nothing when the input format is wrong, so silence usually means a sample-rate mismatch rather than an absent signal.

Thomas Sailer, HB9JNX, originally. No live upstream page is declared; multimon-ng at https://github.com/EliasOenal/multimon-ng is where the lineage continues.
