Packages Remotetrx
Puts an SvxLink receiver or transceiver at the end of a network link

Runs on a machine attached to a radio and serves that radio's audio and squelch state to an SvxLink server elsewhere on the network, so the repeater controller and the radio need not be in the same building.
Repeater sites are where the antenna should be and rarely where a computer should be. This splits the two: a small machine at the site handles the radio, and the controller with its configuration, modules and logs lives somewhere maintainable. It is also how a multi-site voting receiver system is built.
An SvxLink server to connect to, a network path with low enough latency to be usable for voice, and a radio interfaced for audio and squelch.
- apt:
remotetrx
Latency and jitter on the link become audible delay in the repeater's response, which operators notice immediately as a hesitant repeater. A link that drops takes the site off the air with no local fallback unless one is arranged. Same version-spread caveat as the rest of the SvxLink family.
