Simple GTK logger in Python, easy to read and easy to change

Logs contacts into an SQLite file with ADIF import and export, DX cluster telnet access, grey-line and world map display, a callsign lookup against QRZ or HamQTH, and simple statistics over the log.
It is the log you can actually read the source of. Three hundred lines of Python per feature rather than a Pascal or Qt application, an SQLite file rather than a private format, and a straightforward path to adding the one field your award chase needs. For an operator who programs, that is worth more than the feature list.
A desktop session with GTK 3. The map display wants python3-cartopy, which the package recommends rather than depends on; without it the log works and the map does not appear.
- apt:
pyqso
It is a smaller project than the other logs here and its online-service integrations are correspondingly thinner -- there is no LoTW signing, so exports go through TQSL separately. Rig control needs python3-hamlib, also only recommended, and its absence shows up as the rig fields simply never filling in rather than as an error.
- probe: apt policy
- strategy: apt_upgrade
Christian Jacobs, M0UOS. GitHub issues at the URL above. Debian declares the Homepage as christianjacobs.uk/pyqso and that hostname has no DNS record at all (checked 2026-08-29), so the repository is cited instead. It is alive: head of master is 869c98f80d57, 2025-10-21, read from the branch rather than from GitHub's updated_at (D-032). GPL-3.0.
