🎮 Playthroughs & Longplays

🧠 General Advice (Before Starting a New Game)

Undertale on its own, is a pretty linear game. But when accounting for the VERY LARGE AMOUNT of collectibles, secret dialogue, and secret actions in the game that are based on your decisions, it makes sense why there are only NINE achievements that are considered NOT MISSABLE in the core set (keep in mind, this game has 195 achievements).

You will need to do at least 3-4 playthroughs of the game in order to achieve mastery:

  • 1st Playthrough: Neutral Route + True Pacifist Route (No Harm Done)
  • 2nd Playthrough: Hard Mode
  • 3rd Playthrough: Genocide Route (No Mercy)

If you missed anything, you can do another Neutral Route playthrough.

Each main heading will contain a brief list/explanations of the consumables found in that area (for the Gourmand achievement [consume every possible consumable in the game]). It's best to get all consumables when doing the Neutral Route + True Pacifist Route (1st playthrough).

Note

After obtaining a cell phone from Toriel, you'll be able to access the ACH option in the menu when you press 'C'/'CTRL' (which shows a quick overview of all achievements in a certain area).

Tip

Along with the patch, CopperMoon added some QoL features to the game which includes a skip dialogue button via 'C'/'CTRL', a quick game reset function via 'F8', and a fast-forward (2x) toggle function via 'F2'.

Caution

It's highly recommended that you make save backups regularly in order to avoid missing something accidentally as this game is full of actions that are decided by a single input (like dialogue). An easy way to do this is by going to %LOCALAPPDATA%\UNDERTALE and then copying the files found there.

💜 Ruins (26 achievements - 60 points)

In 201X, on top of MT. EBOTT, a child falls down to the Underground, the rumoured place that holds the MONSTERS that were locked away during the war between HUMANS and MONSTERS. Let's try to find our way out of here...

Consumables (for "Gourmand")

  • Monster Candy: Go up from the Ruins - Leaf Pile SAVE point
  • Stick: After equipping a new weapon, you are able to use or "consume" the stick
  • Bandage: After equipping a new armour piece, you are able to use or "consume" the bandage
  • Spider Donut: Go right after encountering Napstablook to buy a Spider Donut for 7G in the web on the left
  • Spider Cider: Go right after encountering Napstablook to buy a Spider Cider for 18G in the web on the right
  • Butterscotch Pie: On the ground after you slept in the guest room bed

Title Guidance & Insights

Once Upon a Time

Achievement badge icon
Get told off for entering a taken name in the naming screen.

Once you are questioned with the decision of naming the fallen human after pressing Begin Game, name the fallen human one of the main characters you come across in-game.

The names that are forbidden to use for your name are Alphys, Asgore, Asriel, Flowey, Gaster, Sans, Toriel, and Undyne.

You Idiot

Achievement badge icon
Avoid all of Flowey's "friendliness pellets" during your first encounter.

After entering the grey entrance from your golden flowerbed, you'll encounter Flowey the Flower. He will introduce you to your SOUL and the concept of LV (which, of course, stands for LOVE). He'll then showcase this concept through little white 'friendliness pellets'.

Despite him telling you to get as many as you can, avoid them by luring the pellets to a side of the bullet board and then moving to the other side. Do this three times with the pellets becoming increasingly faster.

This Isn't Undertale Yellow

Achievement badge icon
Press the wrong lever before Toriel walks to the end of the hallway.

It's recommended to use the Ruins - Entrance SAVE point that can be found after leaving the room with Flowey.

After Toriel opens the door using the four switches on the ground, she will teach you about levers. You are required to press the first one after the 1st bridge but then there are two levers after the 2nd bridge, you're aiming for the lever on the right. The tricky part is you have to press it before Toriel walks to the end of the hallway.

The strategy that helps here is holding up AND down on the walls which can let you press things while not worrying about standing still (as you can't press things while holding up & left/right). Another thing that can help is making sure Toriel doesn't stop in the middle of the room (which can happen if you don't press the 1st lever fast enough). Don't be demotivated if you don't get it right away, it's pretty tricky but eventually, you'll be super fast at being wrong.

Peace Out

Achievement badge icon
Get the Dummy to leave by constantly performing neutral actions.

After the lever room, follow Toriel's instructions by interacting with the Dummy. Choose the ACT option and select 'Check'. Do this eight times and the Dummy will get tired of your aimless shenanigans and float away.

Feeling Frisky

Achievement badge icon
Call Toriel your mum, then flirt with her.

Open your MENU by pressing 'C' or 'CTRL' and select the CELL option, then select 'Call Her "Mom"'. After the interaction, open your MENU and select the CELL option again, then select 'Flirt'. Select 'Flirt' again afterwards.

Trick or Treat!

Achievement badge icon
Ruin everything by grabbing too much Monster Candy.

From the Ruins - Leaf Pile SAVE point, go up. You will find a pedestal with a bowl of Monster Candy. After you pick up Monster Candy for the 4th time, the bowl falls onto the ground and you're left there to look at what you've done.

Mach Bike Expert

Achievement badge icon
Beat the crackling floor puzzle in the Ruins without falling.

After the room with the first rock, you'll find a big room with most of the floor being cracked. In order to progress, you'll have to find a specific path which you can find out by inevitably falling down and reading the sign. Follow the sign's directions (and the non-flower path) after returning to the room above.

Dev Note - Walk out of the room and back in to reset.

Froggy? Where Are You?

Achievement badge icon
Find the Micro Froggit hidden in a wall crack.

After heading up from Napstablook's resting place, you'll find two or three Froggits (depending on if you skipped dialogue at any time). In the middle between the first (it would be a little to the right of the sign) and second Froggit, go to the wall and interact with it.

Just Like My Nails

Achievement badge icon
Change the colour of sparing to pink.

After heading up from Napstablook's resting place, you'll find two or three Froggits (depending on if you skipped dialogue at any time). Talk to the third (or second) or far right Froggit. Choose "It's Bad" and "No more Yellow Names". Talk to the Froggit again and choose "Bring Them Back" to make the sparing colour pink.

Yummy Paper

Achievement badge icon
Re-apply the bandage after taking it off.

After picking up another armor item (such as the Faded Ribbon found after passing by the two or three Froggits and falling down the bottom-left cracked tile), you are able to take off the bandage and it will become a healing item. Use the bandage to "re-apply" it. Ew.

Too Cute to Harm

Achievement badge icon
Pick up the Faded Ribbon and Toy Knife in the Ruins.

The Faded Ribbon can be found after passing by the two or three Froggits and falling down the bottom-left cracked tile. The Toy Knife can be found near the end of the Ruins after the fourth rotating puzzle room. Instead of going up towards Toriel's Home, go right to find a room with a nice view of Home and the Toy Knife sitting near the left of the room.

Made With Love

Achievement badge icon
Take the Butterscotch Pie or Snail Pie in the Ruins.

After sleeping in the guest room bed in Toriel's Room, you'll find that Toriel left you some Pie (either Butterscotch or Snail flavour depending on what difficulty you play on) that you can pick up.

Certified Biologist

Achievement badge icon
Correctly Identify a Typha.

In Toriel's room (the room next to the guest room) enter in and interact with the bookcase. Afterwards, head back out and interact with the plant with a pointy vase. You will call it a "water sausage".

It's 10 PM, Do You Know Where Your Human Is?

Achievement badge icon
Sleep in bed after Toriel blocks the exit of the Ruins.

After Toriel talks to you in the basement three times (after "This is your final warning."), go to sleep in the guest room bed to hear a voice calling you.

Magic Kills Kids?!

Achievement badge icon
Get a game over to Toriel.

This is pretty tricky as when you're at 3 HP or less, Toriel will stop attacking you but it is STILL possible. The best way to die is through using the fire helix attack. Be at 20 HP and take damage twice to get to 12 HP. Now, wait for the fire helix attack to pop up again and when it does, take damage three times and you will die with Toriel appearing horrified.

Dummy

Achievement badge icon
Spare Dummy without being hit.

The first of many No-Hit Spare achievements. Just talk to the Dummy and you win.

Fail Conditions

- If you take damage

Dev Note - You must ACT for this spare, the other two methods do not count.

(Blushes Deeply) Ribbit...

Achievement badge icon
Spare Froggit at LV 1 without being hit.

It's impossible to spare the first Froggit encounter due to Toriel scaring it away but after you reach the room with the Ruins - Leaf Pile SAVE point, you will start encountering monsters (like Froggit) on your own.

To spare Froggit, you'll have to first compliment (or threaten it but complimenting is better due to getting the yellow description) and then after an attack, you are able to spare Froggit.

The attacks for Froggit are either small flies or a small frog. For the small flies, stay near the bottom and lure them to a corner before moving slowly left/right. The small frog is easy to dodge, just stay out of its jumping distance by moving near the top of the bullet board.

Fail Conditions

- If you take damage
- If you are at a LV higher than 1

I Can't Handle This...

Achievement badge icon
Spare Whimsun at LV 1 without being hit after letting them attack once.

To spare Whimsun while fulfilling the achievement description, you'll have to make it attack once which can be done easily by checking it through the ACT option. After an attack, you're able to freely spare Whimsun.

The attacks for Whimsun are either a ring of moths that circle the middle of the bullet board or moths appearing in two vertical lines near the SOUL. You don't even have to move to dodge these attacks as they don't target the SOUL directly.

Fail Conditions

- If you take damage
- If you are at a LV higher than 1

Eat Your Greens

Achievement badge icon
Spare Vegetoid at LV 1 without being hit.

To spare Vegetoid, you have to select 'Dinner' via the ACT option and then touch one of the green vegetable bullets in an attack. After the attack where you touched the green vegetable bullets, you're able to freely spare Vegetoid.

The attacks for Vegetoid are either making various vegetables fall from the top of the bullet board (with some being green if you selected 'Dinner' via the ACT option) or makes carrots fall from the top of the board vertically and will disappear at the bottom (with some being green if you selected 'Dinner' via the ACT option).

Fail Conditions

- If you take damage
- If you are at a LV higher than 1

Squorch...

Achievement badge icon
Spare Moldsmal at LV 1 without being hit after letting them attack once.

To spare Moldsmal while fulfilling the achievement description, you'll have to make it attack once which can be done easily by using 'Check', 'Flirt', 'Imitate' through the ACT option. After an attack, you're able to freely spare Moldsmal.

The attacks for Moldsmal are either small pellets falling from the top in a zigzag pattern or pellets falling and then some exploding into circles of smaller pellets. The pellets that explode are easy to dodge by utilizing 'X' or 'SHIFT' to slow down your SOUL.

Fail Conditions

- If you take damage
- If you are at a LV higher than 1

Legion! We Are Legion

Achievement badge icon
Spare Migosp at LV 1 without being hit after letting them attack alongside another monster.

To spare Migosp while fullfing the achievement description, you'll have to make it attack once while another monster is in the encounter with it. After sparing (or killing) the other monster, you're able to freely spare Migosp.

The attacks for Migosp are either cockroach-shaped entities fly upwards while hovering over the left and right of the bullet board or using the same attack as Froggit (but only very rarely). He also does exercises if he's alone.

Fail Conditions

- If you take damage
- If you are at a LV higher than 1

Finally Someone Gets It.

Achievement badge icon
Spare Loox at LV 1 without being hit.

To spare Loox, you have to select 'Don't Pick On' via the ACT option. After an attack, you're able to freely spare Loox.

The attacks for Loox are making five small spheres appear and move/bounce diagonally while slowly gaining speed or making several small sphere-worms appear that wiggle left or right in a straight line.

Fail Conditions

- If you take damage
- If you are at a LV higher than 1

Ghost Fight

Achievement badge icon
Spare Napstablook at LV 1 without being hit.

To spare Napstablook, you will have to 'Cheer' 3 times (after every 'Cheer' there will be an attack) in which case, they'll turn into Dapper Blook, where you can then either Flirt or Cheer to end the battle.

The attacks for Napstablook are tears in either falling in a curved trajectory or crying long tears that stick to the walls (which then fall down into the Soul after reaching the top of the bullet board). The second attack is a little tricky but can be avoided by staying near the bottom and slowly moving right from the bottom-left corner.

Fail Conditions

- If you take damage
- If you are at a LV higher than 1

Heartache

Achievement badge icon
Spare Toriel without being hit and without being at 2HP or lower at any point in the fight.

To spare Toriel, you have to spare her twenty-five times. After the 11th spare, she will falter and won't damage you even if you try.

The attacks for Toriel are a paw sweep (two paws appear from both sides with trails of fireballs with them going towards you after the paw disappearing; lure them and then move out of the way and dodge until the attack is over), fire waves (streams of fireballs fall from the top in a crisscrossing pattern; try to get to the top corners for a safe spot), a fire helix (thicker streams of fireballs; stay in between the streams), and faltering (only appears after the 11th spare or if your HP is 2 or less).

Tough Luck

Achievement badge icon
Create a giant fist while using the Tough Glove.

When attacking with the Tough Glove and after stopping the bar in the attack meter, press 'Z' or 'ENTER' to make a small fist appear (in quick sucession). After landing three small fists, press it again for the fourth time to land a larger fist.

Stick It to Them

Achievement badge icon
Spare any dog enemy using the Stick.

After equipping a weapon that isn't the Stick, you'll be able to use the Stick as a item. When in a encounter with either Doggo, Dogamy and Dogaressa, Lesser Dog, and Greater Dog, use the Stick and you'll be able to easily spare the dog enemy.

Golf Physics!

Achievement badge icon
Get the Snowball into the hole without it melting.

After Papyrus's invisible electricity maze, you'll come across Ball Game where you'll have to get the snowball into the hole and depending how fast you do it, a flag will appear above the hole rewarding gold. Get any flag to receive this achievement.

Hole in... 6?

Achievement badge icon
Interact with all seven time-based Snowball flags in one session.

There are seven Snowball flags: Light Blue (wait for the ball to become super small), Purple (over 20 seconds), Green (between 15 and 20 seconds), Blue (between 11 and 15 seconds), Yellow (between 8 and 11 seconds), Orange (between 6 and 8 seconds), Red (6 seconds or less). If you're going for the red flag, you'll most definitely get the other flags along the way.

Getting the red flag (6 seconds or less) is pretty tricky and requires super precise frame-perfect movements. Am I lying? Maybe. Am I being salty? Definitely. Could you get it on the first try? Absolutely, and I'll be crying.

Goooood Boy

Achievement badge icon
Pet Lesser Dog too much.

55 times. That's how many times you have to pet (select 'Pet' via the ACT option) Lesser Dog. Good luck.

You Found Me!

Achievement badge icon
Find the developer's hidden message.

Below the ice XOXO puzzle, you'll find a sign that says "NEW RA SECRET". Interact with it to hear a message from CopperMoon, the achievement developer. Come back in the True Pacifist Route epilogue for another message.

Loving Life

Achievement badge icon
From the cliff in Snowdin, witness a person exit their home and shuffle around.

When you're going through a dense forested area after completing the ice XOXO puzzle, head down and then head left to where the mysterious door area is. Don't go inside though, instead, wait outside near the left of the entrance and the cliff. You'll then see a person far away exit their home and walk around.

Sick Moves

Achievement badge icon
Spare Glyde.

Glyde appears outside of the mysterious door (which is accessed by going down after getting through the dense forested area which is after completing the ice XOXO puzzle) where you must move for 2 minutes to encounter him.

He can only be encountered if you haven't fought Papyrus yet and you haven't killed any fleeable Snowdin enemies (if you HAVE killed a monster already [like in the Ruins], he can only appear before the date with Papyrus and before Snowdin's kill count is exhausted at 16 kills).

To spare Glyde, you have to select 'Applaud' twice and then 'Nothing' three times (or 'Boo' after two uses of 'Nothing') via the ACT option; he will flee afterwards.

Snow Poff Searcher

Achievement badge icon
Inspect every Snow Poff in the gauntlet and find an exciting prize.

There are 8 Snow Poffs (not including Greater Dog) that you have to inspect. The top-right Snow Poff will give you 30G if you inspect them all.

Puppy Petter

Achievement badge icon
Spare all of the Snowdin Canine Unit in Snowdin.

The Snowdin Canine Unit consists of Doggo, Lesser Dog, Dogamy and Dogaressa, and Greater Dog.

Not a Pawn Shop - Snowdin

Achievement badge icon
Repeatedly try to sell your items to the Snowdin shopkeeper.

Once you reach Snowdin Town (and thus, the Snowdin - Town SAVE point), you'll find the Snowdin Shopkeeper (or QC) in the building beside the "WELCOME TO SNOWDIN" banner; press 'Sell' twice.

Naptime

Achievement badge icon
Sleep in the Snowdin Inn.

Right next to the Snowdin - Town SAVE point (and the shop), is the Snowdin Inn. You can pay 80G (and then be fully refunded cause you only slept for 2 minutes).

Two for One Deal

Achievement badge icon
Get the Snowdin Inn owner to not give you another room.

When buying a room (and after closing the "Here's your room key. Make sure to bundle up!" dialogue from the innkeeper), during the fadeout transition to your room, interact with her again for her to get the "What? No, you can't get a second key!" dialogue.

Bookworm

Achievement badge icon
Read all the books in the Snowdin Library in one session.

Hey look! An achievement that isn't missable! Wow! What an honour (though, it is one session so I guess that ruins it a bit)! Jokes aside, the Snowdin Library is beside Papyrus's house and is near the path going upwards. Just read the red, blue, yellow (fun fact; this one was different dialogue depending on what route you're on), orange, light green, and dark green books.

Determination

Achievement badge icon
Tire Papyrus out from beating you and win another way.

After losing to Papyrus three times (as you can't die to Papyrus unlike Toriel), talk to him again and then select 'No'. He will then let you pass into Waterfall.

Lazybones

Achievement badge icon
Spare Papyrus without moving left or right.

This can be quite tricky but at least you don't die considering Papyrus ends the fight prematurely.

Before the fight, try to buy as much healing items as you can (I recommend Bisicle from the Snowdin Town shop as it's two 11 HP heals for a good price) as you'll definitely need it for some of the later attacks when you're blue (most notably, the attacks involving pyramids of bones and the attacks involving bones moving up and down).

Spaghetti Carboneara

Achievement badge icon
Go on a date or hangout with Papyrus.

After sparing Papyrus, he will relocate to the front of his house. Go there and you will start his dating/hanging out quest (depends on if you flirted with him during his battle) including walking around Snowdin for no reason (Wow!), a tour of Papyrus's (and Sans's) house and Papyrus's room (Cool!), being WAY better at complimenting (Isn't that already required to do for Papyrus?), and the most fabled act of all... eating spaghetti (...can we just move on to Waterfall now?).

See!? Laughs! Dad Was Wrong!

Achievement badge icon
Spare Snowdrake at LV 1 without being hit.

To spare Snowdrake, you have to wait a turn (to hear his joke) and then select 'Laugh' (to laugh at his joke) via the ACT option. After an attack, you're able to freely spare Snowdrake.

The attack for Snowdrake are cresent-shaped projectiles that fly around the bullet board in snakes.

Fail Conditions

- If you take damage
- If you are at a LV higher than 1

HELLO??? My Hat's Up Here

Achievement badge icon
Spare Icecap at LV 1 without being hit.

To spare Icecap, you either select 'Ignore' twice via the ACT option or if Snowdrake/Chilldrake is present, select 'Joke' on Snowdrake/Chilldrake, select 'Steal' on Icecap, and then finally 'Compliment' on Ice. After an attack (or nothing if Icecap is Ice), you're able to freely spare Icecap/Ice.

The attacks for Icecap are either top hat-like objects appearing at the bottom of the screen and shoot pointy ice and waves enclosing the top and/or bottom (just wiggle through the waves to dodge it).

Fail Conditions

- If you take damage
- If you are at a LV higher than 1

The Wi-Fi Here Sucks

Achievement badge icon
Spare Jerry at LV 1 without being hit.

To spare... sigh... Jerry, make a joke with Snowdrake/Chilldrake (select 'Joke' via the ACT option for Snowdrake/Chilldrake) and then Jerry will become sparable.

The attacks for Jerry are... nothing. He has nothing. He's just gross.

Fail Conditions

- If you take damage
- If you are at a LV higher than 1

That's a Little Better

Achievement badge icon
Spare Gyftrot at LV 1 without being hit.

To spare Gyftrot, select 'Undecorate' via the ACT option three times. After an attack, you're able to freely spare Gyftrot.

The attacks for Gyftrot are either snowflakes falling from the top of the bullet board or three presents (with one being blue) shuffling around and then moving to the top of the bullet board.

Fail Conditions

- If you take damage
- If you are at a LV higher than 1

Save the Whales

Achievement badge icon
Spare Glyde at LV 1 without being hit.

To spare Glyde, you have to select 'Applaud' twice and then 'Nothing' three times (or 'Boo' after two uses of 'Nothing') via the ACT option.

The attack for Glyde are waves of star-shaped bullets with a variant of the attack having larger, exploding star-shaped bullets with random words appearing (there's also a 1% chance that he won't attack).

This can be a bit tricky considering the amount of time just to even get into the fight with Glyde (having to wait TWO MINUTES outside the mysterious door alongside doing the ice XOXO puzzle if you're at the Snowdin - Dog House SAVE point). Your best bet for the encounter is just hoping that the star-shaped bullets don't corner you at the bottom of the bullet board. You only have to survive 4 attacks as on the 3rd 'Nothing' (or 'Boo'), he flees.

Dog

Achievement badge icon

To spare Doggo, you have to skip your first turn by either selecting 'Check' via the ACT option or selecting 'Spare' via the SPARE option. In Doggo's attack and like he says before it, DON'T MOVE AN INCH. After the attack concludes, 'Pet' him via the ACT option. After an attack, you're able to freely spare Doggo (or you can keep petting him).

The attack for Doggo is using a sweeping blue spear attack (it's his way of checking if something is there).

Fail Conditions

- If you take damage
- If you use the stick
- If you are at a LV higher than 1

dog

Achievement badge icon
Spare Lesser Dog at LV 1 without the stick and without being hit.

To spare Lesser Dog, you just have to select 'Pet' via the ACT option four times. After an attack, you're able to freely spare Lesser Dog.

The attacks for Lesser Dog are either a dog jumping or a sweeping blue spear followed closely behind a sweeping white spear that rebounds.

Fail Conditions

- If you take damage
- If you use the stick
- If you are at a LV higher than 1

DOG

Achievement badge icon
Spare Greater Dog at LV 1 without the stick and without being hit.

To spare Greater Dog, select 'Beckon' or 'Ignore' via the ACT option, then 'Pet', then 'Play', then 'Pet', and finally 'Pet'. After an attack, you're able to freely spare Greater Dog.

The attacks for Greater Dog are either a dog laying down on the bottom of the bullet board (on the first turn, it is sleeping, but beyond that, the dog shouts out "BARK" bullet words) or a dog-faced spear that flickers between white and blue (little tricky but just calculate when it turns blue).

Fail Conditions

- If you take damage
- If you use the stick
- If you are at a LV higher than 1

DDoogg

Achievement badge icon
Spare Dogamy and Dogaressa at LV 1 without the stick and without being hit.

To spare Dogamy and Dogaressa, select either dog and select 'Roll Around' via the ACT option, then 'Re-sniff' on any dog, and then 'Pet' them both. After an attack, you're able to freely spare Dogamy and Dogaressa.

The attacks for Dogamy and Dogaressa are either 2 axe heads bouncing or the left dog (probably Dogamy) giving hearts (with some being blue) to the dog on the right (probably Dogaressa).

Fail Conditions

- If you take damage
- If you use the stick
- If you are at a LV higher than 1

Bonetrousle

Achievement badge icon
Spare Papyrus without being hit.

After leaving Snowdin Town, you'll be in a foggy area with Papyrus.

To spare Papyrus, just don't kill him. He will end the fight eventually (you're free to flirt with him though, if you want to have a date with him instead of a hangout).

The attacks for Papyrus are... varied but it's mostly bone attacks. Just be careful of the fast ones that appear when you're not expecting it!

Listen to every Echo Flower.

Most Echo Flowers are on the main path in Waterfall but there are a few that are possible to miss. One is below the rock waterfall (near the start after the Waterfall - Checkpoint SAVE point) and one is where the Abandoned Quiche is located (use the bridge seeds to reach it).

Based on a True Story

Achievement badge icon
Find an Abandoned Quiche in Waterfall.

After encountering Undyne for the first time in the grass (and after the Waterfall - Hallway SAVE point), you'll reach the bridge seed puzzle. Use four bridge seeds on the lake on the bottom to reach an area with a bench (which holds an Abandoned Quiche).

Poison Spear

Achievement badge icon
Get through the first two chase sequences in Waterfall without getting into a battle in one session.

This might be a bit tricky so be sure to use the Waterfall - Hallway SAVE point after encountering Undyne for the first time in the grass. The first chase sequence happens after reading about the War of Humans and Monsters on the signs. The second chase sequence happens after reaching the Waterfall - Bridge SAVE point (DON'T SAVE or else you can't attempt the first chase sequence again if you fail the second one).

The best strategy I can offer for the first chase sequence is to lure the spears to you and then move quickly out of the way. Be careful of the diagonal downward path near the end as you will have to make a run for it after the spears fire from before the diagonal downward path. For the 2nd chase sequence, just go slow and hopefully you won't get cornered by the ground spears. Be sure not to choke at the end (like me).

You Came Back!

Achievement badge icon
Exchange 3 Punch Cards for 1 Nice Cream.

After the Waterfall - Crystal SAVE point, you will find the Nice Cream Guy again. Now, when you buy a Nice Cream, he will give you a Punch Card. If you have three Punch Cards, you'll be able to get a free Nice Cream!

The Punch Card can be obtained by buying Nice Cream from the Nice Cream Guy in Waterfall (near the Waterfall - Crystal SAVE point).

Napstablook's house is upwards from the Waterfall - Quiet Area SAVE point (after Mad Dummy), interact with the fridge inside and he'll ask you if you want to lay down and "feel like garbage". If you sit a while, you'll transcend... until you get up.

Use the Mystery Key and read every diary page in Mettaton's house.

After reaching the outside of MTT Resort in Hotland, head to the right of the building to find Bratty and Catty who sell the Mystery Key. After buying the Mystery Key, head back to where Napstablook's house is in Waterfall and use the Mystery Key on the house beside Napstablook's house to enter Mettaton's house.

There are six diary pages separated into six books. Read all of them to get this achievement.

Winking Away

Achievement badge icon
Trigger the special encounter with Aaron and Woshua in Waterfall.

After playing a CD in Napstablook's house (upwards from the Waterfall - Quiet Area SAVE point that is after Mad Dummy), head back out and go back to the room with the Waterfall - Quiet Area SAVE point. Walk around a bit to encounter Aaron and Woshua who will flee after hearing the spooky (and as Woshua states, filthy) music. Come on guys, get some better music taste! This is some fire music (especially Spooktune)!

Thundersnail

Achievement badge icon
Narrowly lose and get the most money out of Thundersnail.

To narrowly lose (and get 30G instead of the 9G you get by just winning normally), encourage your snail 7 times at the start of the race. While doing this, be sure to only encourage the snail when the snail's exclamation mark is NOT there or else the snail will get overwhelmed.

Not a Pawn Shop - Waterfall

Achievement badge icon
Repeatedly try to sell your items to the Waterfall shopkeeper.

Tem Shop

Achievement badge icon
Reduce the Temmie Armour's price to the lowest possible, then buy it.

After sending the Temmie Shopkeeper to College, she'll start selling Temmie Armor which is 9999G originally but after you die TWENTY-FIVE times, you'll be able to purchase the Temmie Armor for the way better price of 750G.

Pawn Shop - Temmie Village

Achievement badge icon
Refuse to sell an item to Temmie.

Every eighth item sold to the Temmie Shopkeeper (found in Temmie Village) in the Tem Shop, she'll find a liking to that item. Refuse to sell it (select 'NO!!!') and then refuse again (select 'NO!!!'). She'll give different dialogue after this depending on if she graduated from College or not.

Now It's a Fair Fight

Achievement badge icon
Start Undyne's fight with her already damaged.

Near the end of Waterfall (and not on the Genocide Route), Monster Kid trips over the edge of the bridge and hangs from it, you have three (technically four) choices. You can either help them, let them fall/run to Undyne, or run away. In order to start Undyne's fight with her already being damaged, either let Monster Kid fall or run to Undyne. Due to her falling as well, she will have 100 HP less (1400 HP) than her normal HP (1500 HP).

Not Your Kindergarten Teacher

Achievement badge icon
Show Undyne that you're not taking things seriously by challenging her but not blocking her spears.

This will not be able to be completed if you are on the Genocide Route. Be sure to have some healing items before the fight as you might need to heal to survive for long enough.

When Undyne turns you green, get hit by her spears (don't block them) for four turns. After the fourth turn, she'll attack with one of her hardest attacks (earning you the achievement).

Answer Is Wrong

Achievement badge icon
Attempt to solve the Box Puzzle in Waterfall.

After entering Hotland, head back and you'll find the Elder Puzzler near the Waterfall - Undyne Arena SAVE point. Talk to him and then touch the block.

Flexing Contest? OK, Flex More

Achievement badge icon

To spare Aaron, select 'Flex' via the ACT option three times to challenge him to a flexing contest. Once you flex for the 3rd time, he will flex himself out of the room, ending the battle and you sparing him.

The attacks for Aaron are flexing arms that appear from the left and right of the bullet board going upwards (with the flexing arms getting slightly faster the attack goes on) or sweat bullets falling diagonally.

Dummy! Dummy! Dummy!

Achievement badge icon
Spare Mad Dummy at LV 1 without being hit.

To spare Mad Dummy, you... can't? Technically? At least talk to him!

The attacks for Mad Dummy are varied... but it's mostly a mix of white dummies shooting fuzzy scribbles (that can hit Mad Dummy) or red dummies that move across the board. He'll then add in robotic dummies into the mix which can be pretty tricky to dodge on the robotic dummy's final attack (including the whole barrage of them at the end of the attack, be sure to stay in the middle!). Be sure not to take damage to Napstablook's tears after the knife!

Spear of Justice

Achievement badge icon
Spare Undyne without being hit.

To spare Undyne... you can't really do that? You don't have any dummies here like in Mad Dummy so the only other option? RUN! The number of green SOUL phrases is 6, 4, and 8. After each phase, Undyne will turn you back to a red SOUL and you'll be able to flee. After the 3rd phase, she won't turn you into a green SOUL anymore and are free to flee again and again. You gotta run till the end of the bridge at the entrance of Hotland where you can pour water on her to spare her.

The attacks for Undyne are either blocking spears (blue, red, or yellow that flip around) as a green SOUL, avoiding a singular spear after being turned into a red SOUL from a green SOUL, avoiding spears from the bottom of the bullet board with the red SOUL, avoiding singular spears with the red SOUL (you don't need to do the red SOUL attacks considering you can just flee as the red SOUL [not the red SOUL] so it's mostly the green SOUL attacks and the singular spear throw as the red SOUL).

You can also try selecting 'Plead' via the ACT option on the third green SOUL phase to slow her green SOUL attacks down.

🔥 Hotland (28 achievements - 148 points)

Is it getting hot in here or what? Let's hope there aren't any killer robots...

Hotland Achievement List

Title Guidance & Insights

A Fish Out of Water

Achievement badge icon
Give Undyne some water.

After you cross the bridge at the entrance of Hotland while Undyne is chasing you, she'll fall onto the ground because of dehydration; use the water cooler to get a water cup and give it to Undyne.

Anime Is Real

Achievement badge icon
Go on a hangout with Undyne.

After you give Undyne water (and you have spared Papyrus), head back to Undyne's house in Blook Acres (instead of going upwards to Napstablook's and Mettaton's house, go up-left) to find Papyrus outside. Talk to him and select 'Yes' to start the Undyne hangout quest.

Where's the Kettle?

Achievement badge icon
Take some Instant Noodles from Alphys's fridge.

After meeting Alphys (and Mettaton) in Hotland, go into the fridge to find Instant Noodles.

Cell Phone 2.0

Achievement badge icon
Have Alphys upgrade your phone.

After your conversation with Alphys is finished, she stops you and sees that your phone is ancient and works up a new one. This new phone gives you the option to access the dimensional boxes at any time!

I'll Be Hearing Pings in My Sleep

Achievement badge icon
Listen to all of Alphys's phone pings.

All of Alphys' phone calls/pings/the UnderNet status updates are on the main path (except for the one where you get a friend request from NAPSTABLOOK22 which is located in the small pathway before walking to the Stained Apron).

Misc Note - This isn't required but there are also phone calls that happen in CORE (with two being optional; the first one being to the right of the elevator talking about the flaming pit and the second one being after the first glass bridge & lasers [go up to encounter Knight Knight], after the encounter, Alphys will call you).

A Typo?

Achievement badge icon
Get the shooting puzzle in Hotland to accidentally say restaurant.

In any of the shooting puzzles (either the 2 on the first floor or the one on the third floor), when you fail it, it usually says "RESTART..." but sometimes (1%), it can say "RESTAURANT...".

Jetpack Joyride

Achievement badge icon
Reach the end of the flying minigame in the Mettaton cooking show.

In the "Cooking with a Killer Robot" cooking show with Mettaton, Alphys suggests that a vegan alternative should be used for the recipe. Mettaton happily agrees and says the substitute ingredient is to the right of the cooking show set. Uh oh! Looks like they run a tight schedule! Guess we have to fly!

Prelude aside, the timer is pretty lenient and most of the attacks are easy to avoid so you should be able to get the substitute ingredient in no time!

Meowch

Achievement badge icon
Purchase a Hot Cat from Sans.

On the room to the left of Elevator R2, you'll find Sans. Buy a hot dog from him for 30G. Buy another one afterwards... whoops! He doesn't have any hot dogs but he does have a hot cat. Enjoy!

Be careful with this item as you only get this item ONCE.

Am I a Sandwich Yet?

Achievement badge icon
Stack too many Hot Dogs on your head.

If you have a full inventory, talk to Sans and he'll put the hot dog on your head for free. Just don't go past twenty-nine hot dogs stacked...

My Humblest of Apologies

Achievement badge icon
Go to the Art Club in Hotland and encounter So Sorry.

Near where Sans's hot dog stand is and where you can find the Stained Apron, you'll find an invisible pathway leading to the Art Club Room. Read the sign and... yeah... unless you want to wait until October 10th at 8 AM/PM (it can be at any time throughout the hour), it's best to change your system clock (after logging in) in order to encounter So Sorry (be sure to change your system clock back immediately after hearing So Sorry running to avoid problems with the achievement not unlocking).

Let's Make Jelly Donuts!

Achievement badge icon
Pick up the Burnt Pan and Stained Apron in Hotland.

The Burnt Pan is near the Hotland - Magma Chamber SAVE point, instead of going left on the 3rd platform with steam vents, go right and then go down. Time the steam vent to make you go left and the Burnt Pan is sitting on the floor.
Near So Sorry and Sans's hot dog stand (Elevator R2), go down to find the Stained Apron.

Uwa!! So HEATS!!

Achievement badge icon
Spare the Royal Guards.

After the Hotland - Bad Opinion Zone SAVE point, you'll run into Royal Guard 1 and Royal Guard 2.

To spare the Royal Guards, you have to select 'Clean Armor' via the ACT option for RG02, interact with the green bullet five times in the attack, and then 'Whisper' to RG01.

Miniature Millionaire

Achievement badge icon
Purchase a Spider Donut or Spider Cider from Muffet's Hotland store.

At least you can lower the price for Temmie Armor in the Tem Shop but here, you HAVE to buy either at 9999G. No way to reduce it, no way to increase it. It's just plain ol' grinding. Like I said for sending the Temmie Shopkeeper to College, it's best to buy Cloudy Glasses at Gerson's shop and then sell them at the Tem Shop for a 20G profit. It's slow, yes, but eventually, you'll have enough money to buy either item from Muffet.

Too Rich for Her Tastes

Achievement badge icon
Have Muffet spare you.

After 17 turns of surviving her attacks as a purple SOUL, she will offer to spare you.

Oh! Dungeon

Achievement badge icon
Finish the "horrible colored tile maze" in Hotland.

After the Muffet battle, it's best to go back to the left and use the Hotland - Spider Entrance SAVE point as you can't retry Mettaton's coloured tile maze later. After the first time hearing Mettaton's solo performance, you're able to skip it and go straight to the coloured tile maze so don't groan when you see that you can't skip it the first time around.

The coloured tile maze itself is not really that difficult (if you're using the solution map below), you just have to go fast. Be careful of purple tiles as they walk for you so be sure to not do an extra step (like near the beginning if you turn orange-flavoured too early).

Achievement hint image

It's Raining Somewhere Else

Achievement badge icon
Have a chat with Sans inside the MTT Resort.

Outside of MTT Resort is Sans. Before talking to him, be sure to check if you need his Hot Dog...?/Hot Cat anywhere as he will disappear from his stand after chatting with him. Once you're ready, talk to him and select "Yes" to grab a bite with Sans in the MTT Resort.

A Memory of Justice

Achievement badge icon
Buy the Empty Gun and Cowboy Hat from Bratty and Catty.

Bratty and Catty are located just outside of the MTT Resort, just go to the right of the building and you'll find them. The Empty Gun and the Cowboy Hat are both 350G. You can also buy Junk Food for 25G and the Mystery Key for 600G (which gives you access to Mettaton's house in Waterfall).

Draw In the Floor First

Achievement badge icon
Learn about Art Lessons from inside the MTT Resort.

In the MTT Resort and where the guest rooms are, keep heading right below the janitor to walk in the black void and to find a sign advertising the Art Club where So Sorry can be encountered.

Dog Vs. Cat

Achievement badge icon
Offer a Hot Cat to the Dog inside the MTT Resort.

I hope you still have the Hot Cat...

The Hot Cat can be purchased by Sans near Elevator R2 after purchasing a 'Hot Dog...?'. In the MTT Resort, go to the fourth door and offer the Hot Cat to the not seen Dog. He will growl and reject it, giving it back.

Can You Really Call This a Hotel, I Didn't Receive a Mint

Achievement badge icon
Attend the guests requesting room service in the MTT Resort.

There are three doors that you need to give room service to. The first door requires Sea Tea which can be purchased by Gerson in Waterfall near the Waterfall - Quiet Area SAVE point. The second door is yours (if you get a room by talking to the Hand Receptionist) so no need for room service there. The third door requires a Cinnamon Bun(ny) which can be purchased by QC in the Snowdin Shop in Snowdin Town. Lastly, the fourth door requires a Hot Dog for a Hush Puppy which can be purchased by Sans near Elevator R2.

Ahh... So... LOVEY!

Achievement badge icon
Spare Vulkin at LV 1 without being hit.

To spare Vulkin, select 'Hug' or 'Encourage' via the ACT option.

The attacks for Vulkin are a thundercloud releasing bolts at a wide angle around the bullet board and two columns on the left and right of the bullet board firing... fireballs towards the middle and then falling back down to the column it originally came from.

Fail Conditions

- If you take damage
- If you are at a LV higher than 1

Eeeeh? H-human...?

Achievement badge icon
Spare Tsunderplane at LV 1 without being hit.

To spare Tsunderplane, select 'Approach' via the ACT option then touch the green zone of the planes four times in the attack. Afterwards, Tsunderplane can then be freely spared.

The attacks for Tsunderplane are several planes flying horizontally dropping bombs and large planes flying from the top to the bottom of the bullet board leaving a horizontally-moving smoke trail (if you selected 'Approach', the planes will have a green outline which is one of the steps for sparing Tsunderplane).

Fail Conditions

- If you take damage
- If you are at a LV higher than 1

Hot!! HOT!! Hotter! HOTTER!!

Achievement badge icon
Spare Pyrope at LV 1 without being hit.

To spare Pyrope, you have to select 'Heat Up' via the ACT option twice. After an attack, Pyrope can be freely spared.

The attacks for Pyrope are bombs dropping into the bullet board from all sides with them bouncing and later exploding and ropes with a moving burning fire (that is orange) moving horizontally from the right side of the bullet board to the left.

Fail Conditions

- If you take damage
- If you are at a LV higher than 1

Stronger Monsters

Achievement badge icon
Spare the Royal Guards at LV 1 without being hit.

To spare the Royal Guards, you have to select 'Clean Armor' via the ACT option for RG02, interact with the green bullet five times in the attack, and then 'Whisper' to RG01. After an attack, there'll be a cutscene and then you'll be able to spare them both.

The attacks for the Royal Guards are star-like bullets that move vertically from the bottom and top of the screen (with the bullet board being squished to be vertical) and projectiles that drop from the top of the bullet board (similar to Vegetoid). The second attack becomes more erratic if RG02 takes off his armor.

Fail Conditions

- If you take damage
- If you are at a LV higher than 1

Wrong Enemy?!

Achievement badge icon
Spare So Sorry at LV 1 without being hit.

To spare So Sorry... you can't... just progress the battle without attacking for at least ten turns and the fight will end. This can be a bit tricky to do without being hit as the 5th attack (Doodlebogs circle doodles) & 7th attack (combination of first two attacks) are really dumb.

The attacks for So Sorry are swinging his tail in either a blue (don't move) or orange (move) colour on attack 1 & 2 (first slow, then fast), throwing crumpled paper on attack 3 & 4 (first slow, then fast), drawing Doodlebogs who throw circles of doodles at you where you can use the ACT option to 'Draw' them out of the battle on attack 5 & 6, and a combination of the first two attacks (swinging coloured tail & throwing crumpled paper) on attack 7.
▶️ Watch Video Walkthrough

Fail Conditions

- If you take damage
- If you are at a LV higher than 1

Misc Note - Be sure to ONLY change your system clock AFTER you logged in AND be sure to change it back BEFORE starting the encounter (when you hear So Sorry running) to avoid problems with the achievement not unlocking.

Spider Dance

Achievement badge icon
Spare Muffet at LV 1, without being hit and without using a spider item.

To spare Muffet, just wait 17 turns and she will offer to spare you.

The attacks for Muffet are all done through the purple SOUL and all attacks are scripted (as you can see by the Up Next spider). The attack types can be spiders, moving orbs, or boomerangs. There's also a "dinner" attack where you have to scale upwards avoiding the big spider at the bottom and little spiders on the purple lines after moving diagonally right (while also avoiding spiders).

Spare Mettaton EX by raising the ratings to above 12,000 without removing his legs or using items.

This is a bit tricky as Mettaton EX's legs are removed after the 13th turn.
The best strategy is selecting 'Heel Turn' via the ACT option on the first turn and then get hit three times on the attack to drop to 1 HP. Select 'Pose' from then on. Write "HOTFINENTICUTE" on the essay for top marks and select 'Boast' immediately afterwards as heart phases last a while. Then select 'Pose' until you win.

Fail Conditions

- If you use an item
- If you remove his legs

Best Friends Forever

Achievement badge icon
Pick up the Heart Locket.

On a route that isn't the Genocide Route and in Asgore's house, you'll find two presents. One of them has the Heart Locket.

Don't Forget

Achievement badge icon
Enter Sans's workshop.

Be sure to use the Last Corridor SAVE point for this. In order to unlock Sans's room & Sans's workshop, you'll have to hear Sans judgement you four times while having earned no EXP. After he judgements you, restart until you have heard the secret codeword, used the secret codeword on him & heard the secret secret codeword, and then used the secret secret (triple-secret) codeword on him. After all that, he'll put the key to his room on your phone keychain.

After completing the Neutral Route (or not, both is fine), head back to Snowdin and go inside Papyrus and Sans's house and then go upstairs in the top-right corner to find Sans's room. After Papyrus turns the lights on, go to the drawer in the top-left corner and inspect it to find a silver key.
Now, go out of Papyrus and Sans's house and go behind the house by going from the left near the mailboxes. Inspect when you stop behind the house and you'll enter Sans's workshop.

Asgore

Achievement badge icon
Spare Asgore at LV 1 without being hit.

To spare Asgore, ehm... well... you can't really spare him... but only after you reduced his health by a lot.

The attacks for Asgore are varied but they mostly consist of harder versions of Toriel's attacks. The hardest attacks here are fire helixes (predict where there is a free spot) and the waves of fireballs that come down on the middle, left, and right (a lot of finesse).

You can also try using Butterscotch Pie & selecting 'Talk' via the ACT option three times in order to reduce his defence. Starting on the 20th turn, his defence will lower significantly, signaling the end of the boss fight.

Last Goodbye

Achievement badge icon
Dodge all of the names of the Kickstarter backers and enter the mysterious door.

Yeah... good luck with this buddy. Be sure to use a SAVE point before talking to Toriel to initiate the regular True Pacifist Route credits.

The first attack can either be done by moving up and down or by doing figure-eights (names lock on and go towards you). The second attack (horizontally moving rows of names) can be cheesed by keeping horizontal with the HP infinity symbol (try to lure the names from the first attack in a certain way so you'll have a lot of time to line up with the HP infinity symbol). The third attack (vertical trail of names) can be cheesed as well by staying near the walls.
The fourth (descending, horizontally moving names) attack is a little tricky but it's best to only move horizontally.

For the fifth attack (name wheels going left on the top and going right on the bottom), go to the top-left and slowly go through the wheels. The sixth attack (names lock on and go towards you but faster) is a probably the hardest attack as you might need to finesse your way around some long names.

After you get through that, you'll get a message saying a door has opened somewhere (and that somewhere is the mysterious door in Waterfall which is located going down after the ice XOXO puzzle).

Like the main menu says, this achievement will make your life HELL. The best way to do it is definitely the Genocide Route as then you can one-shot kill Toriel as no-hitting her after getting through Hard Mode is brutal (believe me, I know, it's hard mentally to kill Toriel, but when you're stuck on this achievement for ELEVEN HOURS like me, you barely care [especially in a mode like this where she literally STOPS DYING due to an annoying dog]).

You are allowed to take damage to Flowey.

While doing the Genocide Route, kill the first Froggit you encounter to get to LV 2. After the long hallway, it's best to grind kills in the Leaf Pile SAVE point room (or the room after it where you are introduced to the crackling tiles if you don't like the screen shaking) as there are only 3 encounter variations (each have a equal chance of spawning) that you need to worry about: Final Froggit, Final Froggit/Whimsalot, and Final Froggit/Astigmatism.

Final Froggit & Whimsalot is easy as you can one-shot kill Whimsalot first before focusing on Final Froggit.

Final Froggit is kinda hard but not really once you learn the strategy.
For the attack where waves of faster flies spawn; from the middle, it's best to go left/right to the wall (the direction is determined by the wall opposite of where the flies are; if flies spawn in the middle, just go either way), then tap your way down and left/right around the bullet board (and hopefully, by the time you reach the other wall, the attack has ended).
For the jumping frog attack, just go to the top-right corner. That's it. It's that easy.

Final Froggit & Astigmatism is where it REALLY starts to get hard. It's best to try to kill Astigmatism first as his attacks are pretty tricky to dodge when he's alone (and of course, alongside Final Froggit's attacks).
Both attacks with Astigmatism (orbs that travel into the bullet board before moving diagonally around the bullet board with varying speed & 3-orb entities that travel to the left while spinning) are mostly solved with staying near the bottom (to avoid Final Froggit's fly attack) and a whole lot of finesse.
After killing Astigmatism, you'll be able to focus on Final Froggit.

Once you reach LV 4, you'll be able to one-shot kill Final Froggit (if you get an encounter with Final Froggit & Astigmatism, still focus on killing Astigmatism) and at that point, you should be nearing the end of the kill counter (20 kills, Dummy & first Froggit doesn't count).

Once you get the "But nobody came." encounter, you're done! Just march through the empty ruins to Toriel's House, make her go into the basement, and kill her. After that, she'll leave unharmed because of the annoying dog and the Hard Mode coming to a close. The achievement will unlock when "HARD MODE" pops up in front of the game logo.

This is one of the hardest challenges in the set. Good luck!

🗡️ Genocide Route (16 achievements - 187 points)

If you think this is gonna be a casual route that is just grinding monster encounters... you're DEAD wrong.

Genocide Route Achievement List

Title Guidance & Insights

Howling Wind

Achievement badge icon
Kill the maximum number of monsters possible (Minibosses, triple encounters with only 1 kill left, warrior's path after exhausting the kill count, etc).

This one can be tricky to understand but it's pretty easy once you know what to do.

For Ruins, you're aiming to have 24 on the kill counter by the end of it (the stat appears in your MENU after exhausting the kill quota the first time). The Ruins kill quota is 20 and the Dummy does NOT count towards either the counter or the quota.
  • Kill the first Froggit (1; doesn't add to kill quota)
  • Count 19 kills (20) to be one away from exhausting the kill quota
  • Get an encounter with Loox, Vegetoid, Migosp in the 4th rotating puzzle room (an encounter with 3 Moldsmals in the triple rock puzzle room also works) to go over the kill quota by 2 (23)
  • Kill Toriel afterwards (24)
For Snowdin, you're aiming to have 47 on the kill counter by the end of it (starting from 24). The Snowdin kill quota is 16 and none of the Snowdin scripted encounters add to the kill quota.
  • Kill Snowdrake and Lesser Dog (26)
  • Kill the rest of the Snowdin Canine Unit (30; Doggo, Dogamy, Dogressa, Greater Dog)
  • Grind 13 kills in either the room where you meet Dogamy & Dogressa or the room with the long bridge before Snowdin Town (43) to be one away from exhausting the kill quota
  • Get an encounter with Icecap, Jerry, and Snowdrake to go over the kill quota by 2 (46)
  • Kill Papyrus afterwards (47)
For Waterfall, you're aiming to have 69 on the kill counter by the end of it (starting from 47). The Waterfall kill quota is 18 and the Waterfall scripted encounters DO add to the kill quota.
  • Grind 17 kills right off the bat in either the 2nd bridge seed puzzle room, the wishing room (the room after the 2nd bridge seed puzzle room), or the winding path near Sans's telescope (64) to be one away from exhausting the kill quota
  • Get an encounter of either 2 Moldsmals or Aaron and Woshua (66)
  • Kill Shyren and Glad Dummy (68)
  • Kill Undyne the Undying (69)
For Hotland, you're aiming to have 113 on the kill counter by the end of it (starting from 69). The Hotland/CORE kill quota is 40 and the Hotland scripted encounters DO add to the kill quota.
  • Like in Waterfall, grind 39 kills right off the bat in Hotland in either the conveyor room after exiting the lab or where you're first introduced to the steam vents (108) to be one away from exhausting the kill quota
  • Get an encounter with 2 Pyropes or Tsunderplane & Vulkin (110)
  • Kill RG01, RG02, and Muffet (113)

  • In CORE, go through the Warrior's path to kill 7 monsters (120; they are still there after the kill quota is exhausted)
  • Kill Mettaton NEO (121)

Stick Kills Mom

Achievement badge icon
Betray Toriel when her guard is down.

After sparing Toriel twenty-four times (stop after she says "Pathetic, is it not? I cannot save even a single child." [23] and "..." [24]), attack her. You're not even human, are you?

Lonely Ruins

Achievement badge icon
Sleep in bed after killing Toriel.

After killing Toriel, head back to Toriel's Home and sleep in the guest room bed. How can you even sleep after committing such an atrocity?

I Don't Want to Build a Snowman

Achievement badge icon
Accept way too many Snowman Pieces from the Snowman.

Near where Sans teaches you about blue attacks, there's a ice rink. Head up from the ice rink and you'll find the Snowman. Take 3 Snowman Pieces to turn the Snowman into a useless pile of snow. This only works on the Genocide Route.

Little Voices

Achievement badge icon
Be reminded of your failed slaughter at the end of Snowdin.

Cool! A genocide-only acheievement for a change. If Snowdrake is not killed before the kill counter in Snowdin is exhausted (16 kills), the Genocide Route is aborted (with the SAVE point genocide text changing to "The comedian got away. Failure.").

Explosion Of Anger

Achievement badge icon
Cause the Dummy to become so mad it fuses with its body.

Hey look! Another Genocide achievement! If you're doing the Genocide Route, Mad Dummy is so angry that he fuses with its body into Glad Dummy. If you're not human, kill it. It's just a dummy, it doesn't have any feelings.

But the Earth Refused to Die

Achievement badge icon
Kill Undyne the Undying.

In the Genocide Route, you'll have to go through Undyne the Undying after attempting to kill Monster Kid. This boss is BRUTAL but with enough experience of learning her attacks, you'll get through it.

Undyne

Achievement badge icon
Kill Undyne the Undying without using recovery items.

I hope you mastered the blocking attacks with the green heart and the spear attacks with the red heart. Have fun and good luck.

The attacks for Undyne the Undying are either blocking spears as a green heart, avoiding spears from the bottom of the bullet board with the red heart, avoiding singular spears with the red heart, or dodging spear circles with the red heart.

It's recommended to use either weapon/armour set from Waterfall (Ballet Shoes/Old Tutu & Torn Notebook/Cloudy Glasses).

Gone With the Wind

Achievement badge icon
Traverse back to Snowdin after the sign disappears.

After defeating Undyne the Undying in the Genocide Route, head back to Snowdin and you'll see that the sign in Snowdin Town has disappeared. Look at what you've done, a bustling town is now a ghost town.

Itsy Bitsy Spider

Achievement badge icon
Kill Muffet.

Finally... another Genocide Route-only achievement. Just kill her on the first turn and you'll be on your way to Mettaton (or do a betrayal kill when she offers to spare you).

Power of "NEO"

Achievement badge icon
Kill Mettaton NEO.

...well that was a dramatic speech. He's literally a glass cannon. At least you're almost done in clearing out the Underground...

Empty House

Achievement badge icon
Pick up the Real Knife.

On the Genocide Route and in Asgore's house, you'll find two presents. One of them has the Real Knife.

The Ultimate KARMA

Achievement badge icon
Receive the flavor text "Doomed to death of KARMA!" in your final judgment.

Despite what most people say, getting this achievement is not that hard at all (though, a bit confusing).

Karma (KR) can basically be defined as a "poison" attack whenever you take damage from one of Sans's attacks (either bones or gaster blasters).
For this achievement, you have to 30-40 KR after your turn is over. The best strategy is equipping the Torn Notebook & the Cloudy Glasses (you're able to backtrack to Gerson if you don't have it by the Final Corridor), having full or near-full HP and highlighting SPARE before starting the 4th attack of the battle. In the 4th attack of the battle (the first attack involving platforms), jump across the platforms to the final platform and then just... stand still. You'll fall down into the bones and accumulate karma. After the attack ends, immediately select the SPARE option and you will (hopefully) get the achievement.

Achievement That Might Unlock When You Defeat Sans

Achievement badge icon
Prove yourself in your final judgment.

The final boss of the Gencoide Route. Good luck!

After Sans's final attack (where he does a few quick attacks before extending the bullet board and making you freefall between bones and finally makes you go in circles to dodge gaster blasters), he'll keep smashing you against the borders of the bullet board until he gets tired and starts to fall asleep and since it's his turn, you can't do anything. Unless you move the bullet board to the FIGHT option where he'll then spring awake to dodge your attack before you attack him again... and killing him in one hit.

sans.

Achievement badge icon
Prove yourself in your final judgment without using recovery items.

The attacks for Sans are... varied... but most attacks have bones or gaster blasters (or platforms). In the 2nd phase, he introduces some new attacks like fast-paced flicker attacks (randomized but easy to sightread) and wall slamming bones. Some attacks can also be made easier like holding all 4 directions of arrow keys on the wall slamming bones and the final attack's freefall. If you need more tips for some attacks, here's a guide to Sans. Just be sure to remember the directions to press for the last bone jumps (left, up, down & right, up & left, down [and right if you want to get in the corner quickly for the final gaster blaster circle]).

See every flee message.

There are four messages that are possible to get when you flee from a battle. The list is: "Escaped...", "Don't slow me down.", "I'm outta here.", and "I've got better to do.".

Dev Note - The game picks a random number between 1 and 20. If it's over 3, you get "Escaped...". If it's 0, 1, or 2, then the 3 other flee messages are chosen.

Call Me, Maybe

Achievement badge icon
Call Papyrus in every room you can.

After you hang out or date with Papyrus he will give you his phone number. Problem is, this guy LOVES talking on the phone and for some reason, you can call him in basically ANY room in Snowdin, Waterfall, and Hotland. You only need to trigger the first call.

I will list the rooms (with names) that you're able to call in alongside Papyrus's first (or second) line that he says to you (I will also state the first [or second] line that Papyrus/Undyne says to you if you hung out with Undyne [unless the first line is the same in either call]).

There's a second line if you call Papyrus or Papyrus/Undyne again (which is not needed for the achievement and I will not list any second lines [I will though, list alternate lines]) but if you want to hear the first line again, just leave and re-enter the room.

Keep in mind, you can NOT attempt this during the True Pacifist Route epilogue as Papyrus's/Undyne's phone ran out of batteries.
If you need it, an alternative list can be found here.

Eat Instant Noodles while the game is in Serious Mode.

Serious Mode activates when you fight a certain boss (Toriel, Undyne the Undying, Sans, Asgore, or Asriel) which shortens item names (e.g. ButtsPie to Pie), removes alternate use text for the Spider Donut, makes items not make any sound when used, and most notably, makes Instant Noodles actually instant instead of taking a long time to use and only recovering a small amount of (4 HP). In Serious Mode, the Instant Noodles recovers 90 HP instead.

Sundowner
