🧠 General Advice (Before Starting a New Game)

Save often. Remember that you can backup your save files to rewind to an earlier spot in the game. Also be careful of what and when you trade pokémon, as you can't get them, nor their equipped item, back after the trade has been initiated.

Caution

The edited playthrough is useful to know what to do at a glance, but a lot of the details are lost, and are not optimal for a one playthrough mastery.

🏆 Progressions (4 achievements - 22 points)

PokeEscape is composed of one escape room with three sub-areas, not counting the Pokécenter and Oak's house. The progression is linear, with some back and forth, but generally progressing forward.

Just Had Payday

Achievement badge icon
Buy the hidden machine from the boy.

As the name of the achievement hints, this will be done through Payday.
None of your current party Pokémon know Payday, but you do have a Skitty that does in Bill's PC.
Go to the PC, withdraw the Smoke Ball from your PC, and deposit Togepi in Bill's PC. Don't withdraw anything yet.
Go to your settings, and change the Battle Scene option to Off. You want that extra time for the speedrun.

Go outside, and go to the left, past the two NPCs. Normally, those two would challenge you a Pokémon battle, however since you only have one pokémon in your party, and the battle is a double battle, those trainers suddenly become blind.
Go into the patch of grass there until you encounter Sableye.
Use any move except Sketch, until the wild Sableye use the move Foresight.
Use the move Sketch to copy the Move Foresight, then run from the fight.

Return to the Pokécenter, withdraw Skitty in box 12, then equip Smoke Ball to Skitty.
You now want to exit the Pokécenter, but on the way there, do talk to the NPC at the top right corner. You will receive a fishing rod. This fishing rod will automatically be registered as a quick use item.

Time to find a valid target for Payday. The battle need to conclude with you winning to collect your winnings, no running away or whiting out possible.
The only pokémon low level enough to do this that is available is Sableye. However, Sableye is Ghost type, and Payday is Normal type. Ghost typed pokémon are immune to Normal typed move.
This is why Foresight is necessary, it allows your pokémon to hit Ghost typed pokémons with Normal typed moves.

Now that you have two pokémon in your party, you cannot go past the two trainers without being forced into a battle against a lvl 100 Mewtwo and lvl 100 Absol.
Instead, use the fishing rod in the pool of water south. You will encounter a lvl 100 Seaking. Might take a couple try.
Use any move with Smeargle, it will go down before you can do anything.
Try to escape when it asks if you want to change pokémon. It will probably fail, but if it doesn't that's one extra achievement.
If it does fail, simply switch to Skitty and run away. Do try to escape that Seaking when it asks you to change pokémon each time the opportunity arise until you do get the achievement.

You can go past the two trainers with them forcing you into a battle now, so do that.
Encounter a Sableye, then use Assist.
Skitty should be using Foresight (it never chose any other move for me, but your mileage may vary). If not, use Assist until it does.
Then use Payday. It should take three hits, which will net you 285 P$ at the end of the battle. If it crits and leave you with 95P$ instead (unsure if a crit one-hit kills), I would suggest reloading. You are doing save backups regularly, right?

You now have enough money to buy the TM, so go do that. The boy is inside the Pokécenter.

Nice to Beat You

Achievement badge icon
Use the Twins Lily & Rosa to learn Covet.

Skitty learns Covet at lvl 31. While yes, it is possible to learn Covet by defeating Sableyes, you do not have the time for that, and it is not the intended way to do so. Then again, the intended way to do so involves Protect, but one of the missable achievement forbid you from learning it. Ah well. This section will have a bit of RNG due to this, but it's not too bad, just have to reload the save file a couple time.

To be able to gain levels out of the Twins, you need a way to kill one of their Pokémon while Skitty is on the field. Needless to say, you can'T do that right this moment.
What you can do, however, is withdraw your Togepi, and make it learn that new Shiny HM06 that you just bought.
With that, you will be able to go in the final sub-area.

Heal your party.
Remove the Smoke Ball from Skitty, and equip it to Smeargle.
Put Smeargle last in your party, and go fish.
Let the Seaking kill your Togepi and Skitty, then run away.
Remove the Smoke Ball from Smeargle.
Go past the Twins, and use Rock Smash on the brittle rock. Yes, you can use HM even if your pokémon is downed.

Talk to the rightmost trainer, and trade away your Smeargle for Wobbuffet.
Return to the Pokécenter, and heal your Pokémons.
Put Skitty last in your party. While you're there, remove the equipped item from Wobbuffet. It's the aforementioned Protect TM. Just leave it in your bag and don't touch it if you care about mastery. If you only care about the beat, teach it to Skitty over Snore.

Drop a save near the twins, then challenge them.
Use Destiny Bond, and Follow Me.
Switch the downed Togepi to Skitty.
If you taught Protect to Skitty, use it. Otherwise, use any move. Also use any move for Wobbuffet (I usually use Destiny Bond just in case, but it shouldn't go faster than Absol).
In the former case, you will down one of the opponent Pokémon with Wobbuffet while Skitty will be alive thanks to Protect.
In the latter case, it's RNG if Skitty is targetted by Mewtwo or not. Usually Mewtwo targets Wobbuffet in the first couple battle, but in the third one it prefers to target Skitty. Oh, yes. You need to do this three time.

If you lost, without gaining EXP, reload the save.
If you gained EXP, you will get to lvl 25. You will be able to learn Charm on the way there. If you have turbo enabled, just turbo A the whole sequence. You don't need Assist anyways, and you won't need any of the new moves aside Covet. Otherwise just go through as fast as possible, denying the new moves if that's faster for you.
Return to the Twins, save, and rinse and repeat two times.
When you get Covet, simply learn it over Faint Attack.

Obtain Strength on your Pokémon.

Now that you have Covet, put Skitty and Togepi at the front. Make sure that Skitty isn't holding anything.
Save near the Twins, and challenge them.
Use Follow Me and Covet.

... That's it. You can now let your pokémon die at your convenience.
Unlike Payday, stolen items remains on your revived corpse.

Pawed to Victory

Achievement badge icon
Reach Professor Oak in the house.

Put Wobbuffet in the PC.
Put Togepi first.
Take the equipped HM from Skitty, and give it the Smoke Ball.
Go fish. You know the drill, kill Togepi, then run away.
Use Rock Smash past the Twins.

Go talk to the leftmost NPC. It will trade your dead Togepi for a healthy Stantler.
Take the Rare Candy from the Stantler, and use it on the Stantler.
Learn Role Play over Stomp.

We now want to use Strength to go into Oak's house, but none of our current pokémon can do that. We need Delcatty, which comes from using a Moon Stone on Skitty. Thankfully, it seems that the middle NPC's Muk is currently choking on one. Unfortunately, that Muk is lvl 100, of course.
Muk has an ability called Sticky Hold, which prevents item theft. We will have to circumvent this.

The middle NPC will start a battle if you answer Yes. Do that.
Use any move but Role Play or Endure.
Use Endure.
Use any move but Role Play or Endure.
Use Endure.
Rinse and repeat until Endure does not have any PP left (ten times total). Muk will then use Mimic, and whatever move it mimics.
Switch over to Skitty. This will make Mimic fail, as Skitty haven't made a move yet.
Switch over to Stantler.
Use Role Play.
Use whatever move (used Role Play just in case).
Switch over to Skitty.
Use Covet.
Let Muk use all its Mimic PP and kill you with Struggle. Not the most graceful death, but a necessary one.

Put Stantler in the PC.
Take the Moon Stone from Skitty, and use it on Skitty.
Teach Delcatty both Rock Smash and Strength.
Go to Oak's house, crushing the rock and moving the boulders out of the way.
Speak to the old duff.

Congratulations! You completed the escape room!

🏆 Missable (2 achievements - 30 points)

Tannerminator

Achievement badge icon
Reach Professor Oak in the house within 30 minutes.

If you follow my guide, you should be within the allotted time.
You have a lot of leeway to work with, at least eight minutes.

If you had difficulty during your first playthrough, consider the intended Protect strategy, now that you have to missable achievement, and save each time you think you have made a good time. You do not have to do it in a single playthrough, unlike other escape room speedruns.

Alpharad Strat

Reach Professor Oak while still having TM17 in your TM Case.

This is covered in my guide. Involves RNG that the intended strat does not have, but very doable.

Smoked Goldfish Skip

Escape the Seaking without using the Smoke Ball.

If you couldn't escape it during your playthrough, simply exit Oak's house and go try again. There's no shortage of Seaking in that puddle.

Unspoken Language

Achievement badge icon
Find all braille hints in one session.

I didn't go over them in my guide, as they are not necessary and would be a waste of time.
The braille hints are hidden like hidden items in FireRed. The picture shows how the tile looks like.
Just search for these M looking grass tile, and press A beside them. There's five of them.

If you are curious what they say and their meaning:
1. DONT NEED PSYCH TACKLE SNORE HAND MIRROR COUNTER CURL SWIFT SEISMIC
This is simply hinting on some of the useless red herring moves.

2. BATTLING IS NOT ALWAYS CORRECT WAY FORWARDS
This is hinting at how you have to bypass the twins without battling them.

3. THE TWINS ARE VITAL BUT YOU WILL NEVER BEAT THEM
Hints that the Twins are not just there to gate you out of the other two sub-areas, but you won't actually beat them.

4. MUK HAS DIG MIMIC
Hints at Muk's moveset.

5. ONLY SWAP THE SHINY IF YOU HAVE THE HIDDEN STRENGTH
Hints at when to trade Togepi, which, if you didn't notice, was shiny!
