Beds and home spawn
Craft a Bed to make a home respawn point and sleep through the night. You need Cloth from flax and Planks.
At a Workbench, place three Cloth in a row, with three Planks directly beneath them. This makes one Bed.

Leave two empty, dry blocks above solid floors. Aim at the floor and place the bed; its pillow points away from you. Keep space beside it for getting up. Both halves must be clear of players and creatures.

Mining either half returns one Bed. Removing either floor also breaks the bed and drops one Bed. Pick it up normally. Crouch while placing against an existing bed to place a block instead of using it.
Aim at either half and right-click/Use or press Interact. During the day, this sets your home without advancing time. The game confirms the new spawn point.

After death, respawn in a clear spot beside your bed. If it was destroyed or every safe spot is blocked, you return to the normal world spawn and see a message explaining why. Leave floor space and headroom around the bed; nearby liquids and creatures can make a spot unsafe.

Using a different bed moves your home. Breaking a bed and replacing it in the same place requires using the replacement again. Save through Escape before quitting to keep your bed and home assignment.
Use a valid bed between 18:00 and 06:00 to set home and wake at 06:00. Holding Use does not repeatedly skip days.

Sleep advances the sky and calendar and checks weather again. You may wake to the same weather or a gradual change; daytime bed use does not reroll it. It does not give crops, chickens or machines a night's worth of production, consume a night's fuel, refill hunger or heal you. Existing hostile creatures remain, so keep your bedroom safe.
