Houses and Interiors

Claiming a house

Move within range of a claimable house and use Claim House from Quick Actions or Claim (Occupy) from the building's long-press menu. Owned houses appear with management options and can provide storage, a survivor residence, and an enterable interior.

Giving up a house removes your ownership, but stored items remain inside. You must be within about 50 m to access an owned house's storage from outside.

Storage and residents

The house overview shows stored items, total weight, resident survivor, resources, and raid risk. Withdraw items when close enough. Recruited survivors assigned to the house can loot nearby buildings and add supplies to the settlement.

Raiders may attack and steal stored items. The house status warns when raiders are approaching or actively looting. A resident survivor can help repel an attack.

Entering an interior

Use Enter Building while close to an enterable building. Interiors have rooms, doors, floor plans, lighting, power state, furniture, containers, and separate interaction controls.

Furniture and blueprints

Furniture can be crafted or bought from a furniture trader. Inside an owned house you can:

  • Place and rotate furniture
  • Pack furniture back into inventory
  • Salvage furniture for usable materials
  • Plan furniture with a blueprint
  • Supply materials to a blueprint
  • Build when all materials are available
  • Cancel a plan and refund supplied materials

Containers

Chests, wardrobes, and lockers provide weight-limited storage. Tap a container to deposit from your backpack or loose house storage, or take items back. The house also presents an aggregated storage view so supplies remain manageable across containers.

Upgrades, garage, power, and lighting

Owned interiors support house upgrades and defenses. A garage can hold a nearby drivable vehicle and return it outside later, subject to capacity. Interior daylight, electric power, and lighting affect the room presentation; some parts of these systems are still being expanded during development.
