Record of the meeting

  • Testing of the tweaker and uploader is ongoing. John has tested some functionality, and would like to implement a tweaker script using the tweaker interface. John also stated that setting up a QA version of collect is necessary before testing EMLO collect works with EMLO edit 2.
  • EMLO portal updates have been done. There's a PR from John waiting to be deployed in EMLO front with portal fixes.
  • John confirmed that they are managing the QA server to run EMLO old when they are not actively testing the new service, ensuring it is running EMLO old for Millie to check old versus new. John noted that they added a banner or highlighted section to the front page so that Millie can differentiate.
  • EMLO front has issues waiting to be tested and if successful, deployed to production. Issue https://github.com/culturesofknowledge/emlo-project/issues/676 lists all of the fixes waiting to be deployed to QA and then production.
  • Millie raised concerns about log out and security - issue https://github.com/culturesofknowledge/emlo-project/issues/645
    • Tony will advice on best practices, based on common practice in Bodleian across projects
    • Rama to look into what is possible from the technical side
  • Aga presented her work on the search interface, which aimed to "maximize the number of records that you can see," meaning making the display table as large as possible. This redesign addresses issue number #533.
    • Notes from these discussions have been added to the issue.
  • John noted that some published tiny URLs link to old front-end URLs (e.g., "profile works" instead of "profile work") which no longer work, and this needs to be fixed by adding redirections back in. John will create a new ticket with details for discussion next week when Anusha Ranganathan is available.
  • Millie has a request for a catalog export. John agreed to do the export, pending an email from Millie with the specific catalog details.
    • Should catalog requests received by Millie be redirected to the ORA system once the necessary exports are completed? - Tony.
    • This is potentially the strategic direction Miranda wants to move in, but they are uncertain if this will happen immediately - john
    • The movement toward this system is considered a strategic long-term goal rather than something expected within a month of depositing content into ORA.
  • Timeline for CSV Exports to ORA - The aim is to complete the CSV for at least the Bodling and card catalog by the time Miranda returns, as originally planned. Completing the initial data export and column setup for the first catalog is the most critical and careful step.
    • After the initial CSV export is checked, verified, and deposited, future deposits for other catalogs would be much quicker. The decision on exactly what those future deposits should be can be made when Miranda returns and the team can discuss it. The difficulty lies in setting up the data export and column format for the first time - JP

  • Test the four in-review EMLO front issues and, if happy, move them to 'deploy to production' and assign the issue to John. - AG
  • Send email to John with details of catalog to be exported - AG
    • Export requested catalog from the current EMLO editor - JP
