This was valuable information for the development of the product as it helps determine what aspect of dyslexia should be simulated to not only accurately represent it but also not just minor struggle with the disorder. This helped to determine that reading would be the best aspect to simulate as this is the aspect that affects the sufferer the most. This also seems to be the most common aspect people with dyslexia struggle with the most.
- What aspect is the hardest about dyslexia?
- Reading - understanding what the sentence actually means, have to re-read sentences multiple times in order to determine the meaning
- How would you feel about dyslexia being incorporated into a classroom?
- wouldn’t bother me, if it is done well it could be good to engage people with the disorder so they have a better idea of all the areas which dyslexia affects
- In your experience do you think people are aware of dyslexia?
- know the term - don't know the extent to which dyslexia inhibits, don’t understand what it is really like
- Would you want people to be more aware of dyslexia? - why?
- wouldn't bother me - something that can’t be changed, not something that can be fixed, so am unsure how more people knowing would impact me really
- What aspect of dyslexia do you think there isn’t much knowledge about?
- moving away from just the general term of a reading disorder, don't know all the aspects that dyslexia covers/affects
- What aspect of dyslexia do you think would be the best to simulate?
- someone with dyslexia reading a book/passage slower pace, reading could be good but possibly try simulate multiple different areas to get the message across that it don't just affect reading
