Cities
A city is a group of players who hold land together: a mayor, citizens, a treasury and a set of plots.
/city create <cityName>
- Costs 25 (
NEW_CITY_COST), taken from your own money. - The plot you stand on becomes the city's first plot.
- It must be at least 3 plots away from any other city (
MIN_DISTANCE_FROM_OTHER_CITY_NEW_CITY), and outside the areas the server keeps free of claims. - You become the mayor.
The number of citizens sets the city's level, and the level sets how much land it may hold:
| Citizens | Plots | Summon points | Extra plots it may buy |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 2 | 0 | 2 |
| 2 | 4 | 0 | 4 |
| 3 | 8 | 0 | 8 |
| 4 | 16 | 0 | 16 |
| 8 | 24 | 1 | 24 |
| 16 | 30 | 1 | 30 |
| 20 | 38 | 1 | 38 |
| 24 | 44 | 1 | 44 |
| 30 | 50 | 2 | 50 |
| 36 | 56 | 2 | 56 |
These are the defaults; the server can change them in city_level_info.json. On top of the level, a
city gets extra plots from its alliance, from plots it bought, and from
bonus claims an admin grants.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/city claim |

|---|---|
/city invite <player> |
Invite a player. The invitation lasts 2 hours (HOUR_TIMEOUT_INVITATION_CITY) and survives a server restart |
/city uninvite <player> |
Take the invitation back |

/city join <cityName> |

/city kick <player> |

/city leave |
Leave the city. The mayor has to hand the city over first |
/city set mayor <player> |
Hand the city to another citizen |
The mayor can set a daily fee for every citizen (/city set fee <amount>, at most 50). A citizen
who cannot pay their fee and the tax of their plots loses those plots — they go back to the city —
but stays a citizen. If the server turns on DELETE_CITIZEN_FROM_CITY_IF_DOESN_PAY_FEE (off by
default), such a citizen is removed from the city instead. The
removal is written to the city log, and the mayor is told on their next login who was removed while
they were away.

/city set info |
Show the current settings |
All of these are also on the City tab of the main window (Ctrl+Shift+U).
A neutral city can neither declare war nor be declared upon. It pays for that every day: 25 for a
city (NEUTRAL_CITY_PAYMENT), 50 for an alliance (NEUTRAL_ALLANCE_PAYMENT).
- It cannot be declared during a war, or while a declaration of war or an ultimatum is pending.
- A city in an alliance is neutral only when its alliance is: declare it with
/alliance set neutral on. A neutral alliance cannot hold unions. - After giving neutrality up, it cannot be declared again for 48 hours
(
NEUTRALITY_REDECLARE_COOLDOWN_HOURS). - The server can switch the feature off (
NEUTRALITY_ENABLED).
/city set respawn chooses where you reappear after death:
| Mode | Where |
|---|---|
nearest |
The nearest of your city's respawn points |
home |
Your city's temples |
camp |
Your city's war camp, during a war |
If the city has more than one temple, you can pick a particular one: right-click its temple block
with an empty hand, or choose it in the respawn card on the Player page. Clicking the chosen
temple again clears the choice. See Plots and the server settings
TEMPLE_RESPAWN_ENABLED, TEMPLE_RESPAWN_CHOICE_ENABLED and TEMPLE_RESPAWN_CHOICE_FROM_GUI.
Every city has its own account. Once per mod day the city pays the upkeep of its plots; what it
cannot pay becomes debt. Money put into the treasury with /city deposit pays the debt off first.
Details: Economy.
- City log — every notable event: citizens joining and leaving, land changes, sub-plots, removals for unpaid fees. Open it from the City tab.
- City rules — the city's default rights and flags in one place, readable by every citizen (the open-book button on the City tab).
/city delete
/agree
The city's land returns to the wild, its sub-plots are dissolved, and its citizens become free players.
