Getting Started

Found a city and set up your first plots in a few minutes.

Installing

  1. Put the C&N Claims zip into the Mods folder of the server and of every player.
  2. For money, also install C&N Economy. Without it the mod still runs, but every cost is free and the land market is switched off.
  3. Start the server once. It writes its settings to ModConfig/claims.json; see the Admin Guide for the ones worth changing. More in Installation.

Founding a city

  1. Find the spot. A city must be at least 3 plots away from any other city.
  2. Have 25 coins (NEW_CITY_COST).
  3. Run:
    /city create <cityName>

  4. The plot you stand on becomes the city's first plot, and you become its mayor.

No money for a city?

If the server has villages enabled, start with one instead:

/village create <name>

A village is free, keeps up to 4 plots and 8 people, and lives on the food and firewood you put in its granary rather than on a treasury. The price is one hour of vulnerability every day, starting a week after you found it. It can grow into a full city later with /village upgrade.

Claiming more land

Stand on a plot next to your city and run:

/city claim

How much land you may hold depends on the number of citizens — see city levels.

Inviting players

/city invite <playerName>

The invited player answers with /accept <cityName> or /deny <cityName>. Invitations last two hours and survive a server restart. To let anyone join without an invitation: /city set open on, then they use /city join <cityName>.

Your first plot rules

/plot here - what you are standing on
/plot set permissions <group> <use|build|attack> on|off

Groups: citizen, stranger, ally, friend. Example — let allies open containers:

/plot set p ally use on

To give a citizen their own plot, put it up for sale with /plot fs <price>; they buy it with /plot claim and /agree. To give someone a flat or a shop inside a plot, make a sub-plot.

Seeing your borders

.claimsborders - a grid on the edges of city land around you
.claimsmarkers - small squares over nearby plots with their rules

These are client commands, typed with a dot. Both can also be switched in the window.

Chat channels

  • /gc - Global chat
  • /cc - City chat
  • /lc - Local chat (players within 100 blocks)

Money and the daily cycle

/citizen prices - every current cost
/citizen nextdaytimer - time until the next daily charge
/city balance - your city's treasury
/city deposit - put the coins in your hand into the treasury

Once a day the city pays the upkeep of its plots. See Economy.

The window

Press Ctrl+Shift+U for the main window: city, player, prices, plot, sub-plots, prison, summon points and plot groups. Press K for the plot you are standing on. See GUI.
