Route check

Route check compares the route currently shown on the map with airspace, NOTAMs, SIGMET/AIRMET, nearby aerodrome weather, and estimated cloud conditions along the route. It is an advisory planning tool, not flight clearance or a complete compliance check.

Before checking

Build or load a route, check the direction displayed on the map, and set the planned leg altitudes, speeds and departure time. Open Route check from the toolbar. The check uses visible legs and their planned flight window; it does not invent a return flight. A hidden direction is excluded. Re-run the check after changing the plan.

Reading the results

  • The checked time window and five-source summary appear at the top.
  • Each category with findings has a collapsed frame. Select its header to expand it.
  • A successfully checked category with zero findings has no frame; its summary remains.
  • Unavailable sources remain visible as missing data, not as a successful zero result.
  • Expanded frame content scrolls separately, keeping that frame's header visible.
  • Weather reports contains decoded and raw METAR/TAF reports, including reports that produce no warning. Raw reports remain left-to-right in the Hebrew interface.

“Nothing found” means no finding from the available data for that plan and time window. It does not establish that the flight is safe, legal, or free of restrictions.

Why does LLBG appear on an LLHZ–LLHA route?

Weather selection includes named route airfields and stations within 15 NM of sampled route points. LLBG is close enough to the LLHZ end to be included. It is nearby weather context, not an added waypoint or destination. Conditions at an aerodrome may differ from those along your route.

Cloud information

The check considers METAR clouds and TAF periods overlapping the planned window. Forecast periods have finite validity; temporary conditions can overlap prevailing conditions. Aerodrome cloud bases are converted to AMSL using field elevation before comparison with the relevant leg's planned altitude. FEW/SCT layer advisories are distinguished from BKN/OVC ceiling warnings. Along-route cloud-base estimates are labelled as estimates.

These automated checks cannot establish actual horizontal cloud separation, continuous ground visibility, or every local rule. Verify current official briefing information, report issue/validity times, and actual conditions before flight.
