🌐 Application Proxy

What It Is

By default, LinguaGacha follows the system proxy. To give LinguaGacha its own proxy without changing the system settings, set the LG_PROXY environment variable.

Case How the network goes
LG_PROXY is not set Follows the system proxy
LG_PROXY is set Model requests, AGENT network access, and in-app web pages all use this proxy
Local addresses, such as a local model Always connect directly, not affected by the proxy

💡 Both the GUI and [CLI Mode] read LG_PROXY

Set It Up

Windows

  1. Open PowerShell
  2. Run this command. Replace the address with your proxy address:
[Environment]::SetEnvironmentVariable('LG_PROXY', 'http://127.0.0.1:7890', 'User')
  1. Fully quit LinguaGacha, then open it again

✅ Result: LinguaGacha uses this proxy every time you open it from the desktop, the Start menu, or File Explorer

To stop using it, run this command, then open the app again:

[Environment]::SetEnvironmentVariable('LG_PROXY', $null, 'User')

To use it only once, set it in PowerShell and start the app from the same window:

$env:LG_PROXY = 'http://127.0.0.1:7890'
& 'C:\Apps\LinguaGacha\app.exe'

💡 Replace C:\Apps\LinguaGacha with the folder where you extracted the app

macOS / Linux

When you start the app from a terminal, put LG_PROXY before the command:

LG_PROXY='http://127.0.0.1:7890' /Applications/LinguaGacha.app/Contents/MacOS/LinguaGacha
LG_PROXY='socks5://127.0.0.1:1080' ./LinguaGacha.AppImage

Write the Proxy Address

Proxy type Example
HTTP http://127.0.0.1:7890
SOCKS5 socks5://127.0.0.1:1080
HTTPS https://proxy.example.com:8443

💡 If you use proxy software on this computer, find its HTTP port or SOCKS port in its settings, and write it in the format above

  • Use only one proxy, in the format scheme://address:port, with nothing else
  • Without a port, http, https, and socks5 use 80, 443, and 1080
  • Put IPv6 addresses in square brackets, for example http://[::1]:7890
  • Proxies that need a username and password are not supported

📌 What You Need to Know

  • After you change or remove the setting, fully quit and open the app again
  • When the proxy cannot be reached, requests fail instead of switching to a direct connection. If you see network errors, first make sure that your proxy software is running
  • With a wrong address, the app shows a startup error (LinguaGacha 启动失败) with the reason, and CLI mode exits with an error. Correct the address or remove the setting, then open the app again
