The following diagram summarises the workflow of reconstructed population-level initialisation.
graph TD;
id0("Data-layer inputs
biomass, yield, catch-at-length,
egg-stage duration, optional biomass guess") --> id2
id1("Regular OSMOSE species parameterisation
growth, maturity, fecundity,
length-weight, lifespan, sex ratio") --> id2
id2("Internal single-species reconstruction
of initial population structure") --> id3("Generation of population.initialization.*")
id3 --> id4("OSMOSE core simulator")
id4 --> id5("Creation of initial schools at time zero")
This workflow emphasises the distinction between:
- the data layer, which provides the information used to reconstruct the initial state;
- the population-level initialisation block, which is the direct class-based initial state used by the simulator;
- the school-level runtime state, which is created by the simulator from that block.
