Model Overview Species Types
In Osmose, there are three types of species, which are characterized by their species.type.spX parameter:
Resource species (resource type`) are the lower-trophic level species. Their biomass is provided by external file (biogeochemical models for example)
Focal species (focal types) are the species for which the full life cycle is computed
Background species (background type) are high-trophic level species with prescribed biomass that can feed on focal and resource species, and that can be eaten by focal species. The life cycle of these is species is not computed.
