Inputs and Configuration Accessibility Matrices
The accessibility and catchability matrices are provided as CSV files. The first line specifies the name of the predator (either fish species or fishing gear), while the first column specifies the name of the prey (either fish species or biogeochemical forcing).
In the accessibility matrix, the size information is provided by appending the < character before the upper bound of the class value.
For example, if the predator column is cod, the accessibility of the prey (e.g. atlantic herring) will be used for all cod schools. However, different accessibilities can be achieved:
| cod < 0.25 | cod < 2 | cod | |
|---|---|---|---|
| atlantic herring | 0.25 | 0.5 | 0.7 |
Here, the accessibility of the atlantic herring prey by the cod will be 0.25 for cod schools smaller than 0.25 cm, 0.5 for cod schools between 0.25 and 2cm, and 0.7 for all the other school size.
In the catchability matrix (used for fishing mortality and discards when fisheries are enabled), the predator names are the fishing gears.
