Prefer capability registration, standard actions, and adapter interfaces when extending the project. New data objects require semantics and relationship validation. New runtime capabilities require states, errors, audits, and regression tests.

Principles for extension

Before extending DecisioWorks, identify whether the change belongs to data, actions, objectives, rules, planning linkage, model adapters, or presentation, then work in the responsible module. New capabilities should define inputs and outputs, errors, audit evidence, a minimal example, and test boundaries together.

This approach lets partners implement their own mappings, business capabilities, orchestration recipes, and user experiences while continuing to reuse existing GOCK and DecisioCore capabilities.

Start with Component Responsibilities, Standard Actions and Orchestration, and Controlled Solving and Engine Adapters.
