Translating

Today CopyPaste speaks Spanish (Chile) and English (US). The strings are not in a separate translation file: each phrase lives in the code next to its twin, as ("español", "english") in Rust and as two objects with the same keys in TypeScript.

Adding a third language means that pair becomes a list, so open an issue first to agree on the shape before translating 300 strings.

If you translate:

• keep phrases short: screen space is limited;
• use a neutral tone, addressing the reader informally;
• keep placeholders such as {one};
• do not translate proper names (CopyPaste, Windows…);
• change what the keys say, never the keys.

Contributing code

• Contributions require signing the CLA once. You keep the copyright on your work.
• For security vulnerabilities, do not open a public issue: follow SECURITY.md.
