Dashboard and Insights
The Dashboard is the overview tab and the first page you see the very first time you open Goblinomics (after that, the window reopens on whatever tab you had open last). It covers all your characters, and the period buttons on top switch between 1, 7, 14, 30, 90 and 365 days (1 year). It remembers your choice.
The cards, roughly from top to bottom:
- Wealth, with its change over the period, a bar split into gold, auctions, items and the speculative part, and the history as a small chart.
- Net income for the period, with income and expenses per day.
- Gallywix: his current face and a comment on how you're doing. He isn't always kind.
- Top gold source and Most expensive: where most of your gold came from, and your biggest expense.
- Gold per character, including the warband bank.
- Daily net income as a calendar heatmap, so you can see at a glance which days were good.
- Records & streaks: best day, your streak of days in the plus, highest wealth.
- Crafting, Farming, Auction house and Goals & Jealousmeter: short versions of what the modules know.
- Latest bookings from the Ledger.
Each card comes from a module. Switch off the Workshop and its card disappears too.
During a boss fight or a Mythic+ run the dashboard stops updating (WoW restricts addons there anyway) and catches up afterwards.
Insights is the deeper view. It's a separate addon that only loads the first time you click its tab, so if you never open it, it costs you nothing. It can't be loaded in combat.
It has three pages, and like the dashboard they use the 1 to 365 day periods. A character filter at the top lets you look at a single character; wealth numbers are only available for all characters together.
History shows your wealth, income, expenses and net for the period, each compared with the period before. Below that there's a wealth chart, income and expenses per day as bars, and your biggest incomes and expenses. Hover over a chart to see the exact values for a day.
Cash flow is a diagram of where the gold came from and where it went. Sources on the left (auction house, quests, loot and so on), your characters and the warband bank in the middle, and on the right what you spent it on, what went into the warband bank, and what you kept. It's the page I look at when I've somehow lost 200k in a week and have no idea how. (It was repairs. It's always repairs.)
Reports are daily and weekly summaries. Pick day or week, flip back and forth, or jump to today. Each report has income, expenses, net, the change in wealth, crafting profit and farming, a chart (per hour for a day, per day for a week), the top incomes and expenses, and the list of bookings. Each number is compared with the previous day or week.
Transfers between your own characters don't count as income or expenses anywhere here; see Ledger.
