Linking accounts
Goblinomics normally sees one WoW account: the one you're logged into. SavedVariables are per account, so if you have a second account (plenty of goblins do), its gold is invisible. Account link fixes that without any network magic. You copy a string on one account and paste it on the other.
- Log into the account you want to add. Open Settings > Account link and click Create export string. The string is selected; press Ctrl+C.
- Get it to the other account. Paste it into a text file, a note, a chat with yourself, whatever works for you.
- Log into your main account, open Settings > Account link, paste the string into the import field and click Import string.
That account now shows up under "Linked accounts" with its characters, and its gold and wealth are added to yours. That includes the Jealousmeter, so Gallywix gets to be jealous of both accounts at once.
Want it both ways? Do the same in the other direction.
Each character's name, class, gold and wealth, the warband bank's gold and wealth, and the account's daily wealth history. No items, no Ledger bookings, no farms. The linked account is read-only; you can see its totals, but it doesn't show up in the Ledger, the Workshop or the Gatherer.
If that account had linked other accounts itself, those aren't passed on. Only the account's own numbers travel.
The link is a snapshot, not a live connection. When the other account's wealth has changed and you want it reflected, create a new export string there and import it again. The newer snapshot replaces the older one. Importing an older string over a newer one is refused, and so is a string from the account you're currently on.
To unlink an account, click Remove next to it. Its numbers are taken out of your wealth again.
The Vault module needs to be on for this; the link feeds into the Vault's wealth figure.
