Vault and Jealousmeter
The Vault keeps a snapshot of every character's bags, bank, mail, auctions and equipment, plus the warband bank, and turns it into one number: your wealth.
- Gold on every character and in the warband bank.
- Gold attached to mail that's waiting in your mailbox.
- Your active auctions. They're valued at the current market price, not at the price you listed them for. Listing Bismuth at triple the market price doesn't make you richer, sadly.
- Every item you could sell. Items that can go to the auction house count at their market price. If the vendor pays more than the market, the vendor price wins, because nobody sensible sells below that. Items that can't go to the auction house but have a vendor price (grey junk, for example) count at the vendor price.
- Soulbound and warbound items. You can't sell them, so they're worth nothing here, however much they cost you.
- Equipped gear.
- Mail with cash on delivery. That's not yours until you pay.
- A WoW Token you've put up on the auction house.
- Items with no price at all.
- Anything in a place Goblinomics has never seen. More on that below.
There's no auction house cut taken off. The number is what your things are worth on the market, not what you'd net after selling all of it on one very busy evening.
Some items have a market price but hardly ever sell. Think of that odd transmog piece somebody listed at 80k and nobody bought in months. Counting those at full price makes your wealth look better than it is.
So Goblinomics looks at the sale rate. Anything below the threshold (5 % by default, adjustable under Settings > Prices) and worth at least 1000 gold per item (also adjustable) is marked speculative. The gold limit keeps cheap stuff that nobody buys out of the list; that kind of thing simply counts at its market price. It still counts towards your wealth, but it's shown separately as "of which speculative", so you can see how much of your fortune is wishful thinking. The Speculative items tab lists each one with where it sits (character and location), how many, and its value. By default speculative items also get a small logo in your bags and bank.
The sale rate comes from TSM (DBRegionSaleRate by default). Auctionator doesn't provide one, so without TSM there's nothing to mark. In that case the Speculative tab, the "of which speculative" line and the related settings simply aren't there. Install TSM and they show up.
Your bags are always up to date. The bank, mail and auctions are only seen while you have them open, so each location remembers when it was last scanned:
- fresh: seen in the last 6 hours,
- aging: seen within the last 3 days,
- stale: older than that,
- not recorded: never opened with Goblinomics running.
Stale data still counts. If you haven't opened your bank on that alt for two weeks, Goblinomics assumes it looks the same as last time. A location that was never recorded counts as nothing, which isn't the same as empty. The Vault tab shows the state of each location per character, and the wealth tooltip shows a "Data freshness" percentage: how much of your item value comes from fresh or aging data. Both time limits can be changed in Settings > Vault.
The warband bank is scanned whenever any of your characters opens a bank, and the Vault tab tells you who saw it last. Warband gold updates as soon as it changes.
A big wealth figure is nice, but at some point you'll want to know where it comes from. In the Vault tab, click a character (or the warband bank) and its items unfold right below it: the most valuable first, each with how many you have, where they are and what they're worth. The first fifty are shown, and a click on the last line brings up the rest. Hover an item and the tooltip tells you how it splits across bags, bank, mail and auctions. Shift-click puts the link in chat, handy for asking your guild whether that stack of ore really is worth that much.
The list follows the same rules as the wealth itself, so it always adds up to the character's items and auctions. Gold isn't in it (it has its own column), and neither is anything bound or equipped.
Gallywix sits on the right side of the main window and watches your wealth. The more you have, the more jealous his face gets. There's a new face at 10k, 50k, 100k, 250k, 500k, 1 million, 2.5 million and 5 million gold, and a special one when your wealth reaches the gold cap of 9,999,999. Past that, he gets prestige frames at two, five and ten times the cap. If you get there, please send me a screenshot.
The bar fills from the bottom towards the next face. The marks next to it show how much gold is needed at 25 %, 50 %, 75 % and at the top. A new face plays a sound and shows a toast, but only the first time you reach it. If your wealth wobbles around a threshold, the face doesn't flip back and forth; it only drops once you fall a bit below.
Want to see what's coming? /gob jealous 3000000 shows the meter as if you had 3 million gold. /gob jealous off ends the preview. Nothing is saved.
In Settings > Vault you can show Gallywix in his own small window, lock that window in place, and pick the level-up sound.
On the dashboard card "Goals & Jealousmeter" (or in the Vault tab) you can add two kinds of goals:
- a wealth goal, measured against your wealth. After a week of history it also shows a forecast of when you'll get there, based on the trend of the last 30 days;
- a purchase goal for something you're saving up for, say a mount from the Black Market. That one is measured against plain gold on all characters and the warband bank, because you can't pay a vendor in Bismuth.
When a goal is reached you get a toast, once.
