FAQ
Because everyone counts differently, and Goblinomics has a few opinions:
- Soulbound and warbound items count as zero. Many addons count them anyway.
- Equipped gear isn't counted.
- Your active auctions count at the current market price, not your listing price.
- An item is never valued below its vendor price.
- The market value uses whatever TSM source you set in Settings > Prices (
DBMarketby default). If TSM shows you a different source, the numbers differ. - No auction house cut is subtracted.
- Places you haven't opened recently count with their last known contents, and places you've never opened don't count at all.
If one item looks wrong, /gob price followed by a shift-clicked item link shows exactly what Goblinomics thinks it's worth and why.
Usually one of these:
- It's soulbound or warbound. Those are worth nothing here, since you can't sell them.
- It's in a bank, mailbox or auction on a character where you've never opened that window with Goblinomics running. Go open it once.
- It's in a mail with cash on delivery.
- No price source has a price for it, and the vendor doesn't buy it either.
- You only have Auctionator, and Auctionator hasn't seen the item in a scan yet.
Items with a market price that hardly ever sell. The sale rate comes from TSM, and anything under 5 % that's worth at least 1000 gold per item (you can change both) gets the label. Speculative items are still part of your wealth, but they're shown separately so you know how much of it is optimism. In a Gatherer session they're left out of the gold per hour. With only Auctionator installed nothing is speculative, since Auctionator has no sale rate. More on the Vault and Jealousmeter page.
Because the gold isn't yours yet. Auction house sales arrive by mail, and the Ledger books a sale when you take the gold out of the mailbox. Then it's filed under Auction house with the item and quantity, not under Mail, even if you use "open all".
That's intended. Gold moving between your own characters or into the warband bank is a Transfer and doesn't count as income or expense. Otherwise every alt shuffle would make you look richer. The postage is counted, though. See Ledger.
I've tried hard to make sure it doesn't. Bigger calculations are spread over several frames instead of running all at once. Insights, Import and Account link only load when you open them. During boss fights, Mythic+ and rated PvP it stops updating and catches up afterwards. If you still notice stutters, run /gob perf and send me the output (Reporting bugs).
No. Everything stays in your SavedVariables on your computer. Goblinomics doesn't talk to other players' addons, and it has no website to phone home to. The only way data leaves is when you copy an export string yourself (farms, watchlist, account link).
You need TSM or Auctionator. Without either, Goblinomics only knows vendor prices, and your wealth and farm values come out far too low. TSM gives you more to work with (a sale rate for speculative items, custom price strings), Auctionator is simpler. Both together are fine too.
Yes, in Settings > General > Modules. A switched-off module stops tracking and disappears from the window. Its data stays in case you change your mind.
Goblinomics only knows characters you've logged into since installing it. Log into each one once. For a second WoW account, see Linking accounts.
The game only tells an addon which concentration belongs to which profession while that profession's window is open. Open each profession once on each character and Goblinomics remembers it. From then on logging in is enough, and in between the value is worked out from the recharge rate.
