Gatherer
Gatherer answers one question: was that worth it? You start a session, farm, stop, and get a summary with your gold per hour.
A farm is just a name with a category (Gathering, Fishing, Open World, Dungeon, Raid or Other). For dungeon and raid farms you can pick the instance from the Encounter Journal. You don't need a farm at all, though; a session without one is an ad-hoc session and works the same way.
Sessions only start when you tell them to: the button in the Gatherer tab, the HUD, or /gob farm start. I didn't want the addon guessing when you're farming. A session survives a /reload. If you log out, it pauses, and if you log back in within five minutes it just carries on.
There's no Mythic+ category, on purpose. Keys hand out their loot at the end and nobody runs them for the gold per hour.
- Items you loot. Not items that arrive through the mailbox, a merchant, the auction house, a trade, the bank, crafting or disenchanting.
- Raw gold you loot from mobs and chests. Quest rewards and vendor sales don't count as farmed gold.
- Repair costs, prorated. Goblinomics tracks how much durability you lose during the session and multiplies it by your repair rate. It learns that rate the first time you visit a merchant with damaged gear, so until then repairs show as unknown.
- Realized: how much your gold actually changed during the session, for comparison.
The summary splits items into market value, vendor value and speculative. The total is market value plus vendor value plus raw gold, minus repairs. Gold per hour is that total divided by the time the session ran, without pauses.
Speculative items (the ones that hardly ever sell, see Vault and Jealousmeter) are listed separately and left out of the total and the gold per hour. One lucky drop nobody wants to buy shouldn't turn a mediocre farm into a great one.
While a session exists, a small window shows the farm, the running time, the total, gold per hour and the three most valuable items so far, with buttons for pause, resume and stop. You can move it around, lock it (Settings > Gatherer) or hide it for the current session. /gob farm hud brings it back.
If you tend to walk away mid-farm, set "Auto-pause after (minutes without loot)" in Settings > Gatherer. After that many minutes without loot the session pauses itself, and those idle minutes don't count towards the time either. It's off (0) by default.
During a session you get a toast (and a sound, if you want one) when:
- a loot stack is worth at least 2,500 gold. Change that in the settings, set it to 0 to switch it off, or give each farm its own value;
- you loot one of the farm's expected highlights, the items you're actually farming for, whatever they're worth;
- you loot something on the watchlist, a global list of items that always trigger a toast, on any farm;
- you loot a mount or a legendary item. Those always get a toast, with their own sound.
Select a farm in the Gatherer tab to see its runs, average and best gold per hour, and the session history. Click an old session to see its summary again, right-click to delete it.
For dungeon and raid farms there's a lockout overview: every character at max level, one column per difficulty, the progress per lockout, and how many characters can still run it before the reset. Log in once with each character so Goblinomics knows their lockouts.
Farms (without their history) and the watchlist can be exported as a text string and imported by someone else. Farm strings start with !GOB:FARM:, watchlist strings with !GOB:WATCH:. Imported farms get a unique name if you already have one with the same name, and imported watchlist items are added to yours.
/gob farm start [farm name] start a session, optionally for a farm
/gob farm pause pause, or resume if paused
/gob farm resume resume
/gob farm stop stop and show the summary
/gob farm hud show or hide the HUD
