Remote control

With remote control you have Coodoo on your phone, wherever you are, in the same style as Coodoo itself. You see what the autopilot is doing and watch it live, you control the autopilot, manage your goals, respond when Coodoo needs you and ask questions in the chat. If you like, you get a notification on your phone.

Switching it on

  1. Go to Settings → Remote control.
  2. Choose the Address:
    • Quick address (trycloudflare.com): works without an account, but you get a new address at every start, so you scan again then;
    • Own address on your domain: choose a subdomain, such as coodoo, and one of your domains. Your phone then opens Coodoo at, for example, https://coodoo.yourdomain.com. Coodoo makes the tunnel and the DNS record itself. The record goes when you switch remote control off, and comes back with the same address at the next start. So the address and the QR code always stay the same. If that address is already in use on your domain, Coodoo leaves it alone and you choose another subdomain. For this, first link your Cloudflare account under Settings → Cloudflare;
    • a fixed tunnel from Settings → Cloudflare: the address and the QR code then stay the same.
  3. Click Switch on. After a few seconds remote control is on, and Remote shows at the top of Coodoo.

Connecting your phone

  1. Click Show the QR code.
  2. Scan the QR code with your phone's camera and open the link.
  3. Your phone shows Waiting for approval with a code, such as K7P-2QX. At the same time Coodoo shows a notification with the device and the same code.
  4. Does the code match? Click Approve in Coodoo. Your phone is then connected. If it isn't your device, click Refuse: that device can't ask again for half an hour.
  5. Add Coodoo to your home screen if you like (see below), so it's always at hand.

Coodoo remembers an approved device. The next time you're connected right away.

On your phone

The start screen shows, just like in Coodoo:

  • a yellow notice when Coodoo needs you;
  • your projects with their status, the current goal and what the agents are doing now;
  • your usage of Claude and Codex, with the line of the even pace and when it will be full;
  • your repositories' health: the average score, the four levels and your repositories per category.

Tap a project. At the bottom you choose a tab:

  • Overview: the Start the autopilot, Pause and Stop buttons, the current goal's tasks and what each agent is doing. When a finished goal leaves a command for you, it's at the top. With Run on your computer Coodoo runs it on your computer, just like the button in Coodoo. With Not needed you skip it. Only such a command can be run from your phone, never any other.
  • Goals: New goal, the queue with arrows to change the order, and Change and Remove per goal. Try again puts a failed goal back in the queue.
  • Live: what the agents write and do, as it happens, just like the console in Coodoo. Filter with Agents or Problems.
  • Chat: ask Claude or Codex a question. The agent reads along, but changes nothing.
  • Statistics: steps, working time, tokens and cost over 7 or 30 days or everything, per day, per agent and per role.

Everything refreshes by itself. Language and theme (light or dark) follow Coodoo.

On your home screen

On your phone, open the gear at the top right and tap How? next to On your home screen. Follow the steps: on an iPhone, tap Share in Safari and choose Add to Home Screen. On Android, choose Add to Home screen in the menu. From then on, open Coodoo from your home screen: you're connected right away, as the same approved device.

Tip: use an address on your own domain or a fixed tunnel for remote control. The quick address changes at every start, and then Coodoo on your home screen stops working.

Notifications

Switch on Notifications under the gear. You then get a notification when Coodoo needs you, when a goal is done or failed, and when the autopilot pauses because Claude or Codex has reached its limit. Tap the notification to open the project.

  • On an iPhone, notifications only work when Coodoo is on your home screen (iOS 16.4 or newer). Add it there first and open it from there.
  • Notifications only come while remote control is on.
  • Every notification is encrypted for your phone: the service that delivers it (Apple or Google) can't read it.

Safe

  • The token is 256 random bits and is kept encrypted on this computer. You only see it in Coodoo. It doesn't go to your other computers.
  • The token sits after a # in the QR code's link. A browser never sends that part to a server, so the token ends up in no log, not at Cloudflare either. Your phone keeps it and sends it with every request.
  • Someone who only knows the address sees nothing: without the token the page holds no data. After five wrong attempts Coodoo blocks that sender for a quarter of an hour. Coodoo counts the wrong attempts, so you see it when someone tries.
  • The web server only listens on this computer. From outside you can only reach it through the secure tunnel (https).
  • Keys, vault values and certificates never go to your phone.
  • The app on your phone holds no data itself: everything only comes in with the token and your approval.
  • The token alone isn't enough. You approve every new device in Coodoo first. Someone who does get hold of the QR code or the link can't get in without your approval.
  • Under Connected devices you see the approved devices, with their code. Revoke takes a device's access away at once. Under Done from afar you see what was done remotely.
  • New token cancels every connection and approval: every device has to scan again and be approved again.
  • Switch off stops the web server and the tunnel at once. Remote control also stops when you quit Coodoo, and is off at the next start.

Note: with the token, someone can also start work: the autopilot, a goal or a question in the chat. So don't show the QR code or the link to anyone else.
