Lures Bobbers and Precast
Avid Angler can scan your character's bags and toy collection for usable fishing actions, then offer them as pre-cast choices before Fishing.

Use Scan in Settings to refresh available choices.
The scan checks:
- Bag lures and bait.
- Usable bobber items.
- Known toybox fishing toys and bobbers.
The addon reports how many lures, oversized bobbers, bobbers, and toys were found.
| Picker | What it does |
|---|---|
| Oversized Bobber | Applies Reusable Oversized Bobber before casting if it is available and not already active. |
| Bobber | Applies the selected bobber before casting. Random chooses from available usable bobbers. |
| Lure | Applies the selected fishing lure before casting when it is available and not already active. |
| Toy | Uses the selected fishing toy before casting. Random respects water-only and character-usable toy rules. |
Picker statuses include Off, Missing, None, Ready, Active, cooldown time, Water, Criteria, and Blocked.
Extra Toy slots let you pick toy actions from the Toy Box. Left-click opens the Toy Box for selection. You can also drop a toy onto a slot. Right-click clears the slot.
New slots stay off until you enable Use.
Extra Items / Macros slots can hold a usable bag item or macro. You can drag an item or macro into the slot, use the Bags or Macros buttons to open Blizzard windows, and right-click to clear the slot.
The precast macro is a saved macro text action that can run before gear swap and Fishing.

Avid Angler resolves the next ready action automatically rather than requiring you to step through each helper manually.
For the built-in pickers, the normal order is Oversized Bobber → Bobber → Lure → Toy. While the character is in water, water-capable toys are checked first, followed by Oversized Bobber, Bobber, and Lure.
After the picker actions, enabled Extra Toy / Extra Item / Macro slots are checked in slot order. If nothing else needs attention, the resolver falls through to the normal fishing action. When Equip Gear is enabled, the saved AvidAngler equipment set is included with the cast action before Fishing.
Only actions that are currently ready and usable are selected, so cooldowns, existing buffs, water requirements, and other restrictions can cause an action to be skipped.
