Mod Compatibility

DV Mod Manager works with all Unity Mod Manager mods out of the box. Unity Mod Manager is the actual mod loader, DV Mod Manager just a mod manager.

How Mods Are Discovered

The manager scans Derail Valley/Mods/ and Derail Valley/Mods.inactive/. For each subfolder it looks for an Info.json (case-insensitive on Linux). If found, it's read as mod metadata. If not, the mod shows up with just the folder name.

What the Manager Reads

Field	Used for
Id	Profiles, dependencies, version cache
DisplayName	Mod list (falls back to Id if blank)
Author	Detail panel
Version	Update checking, version comparison, archiving
Requirements	Automatic dependency resolution
Repository	GitHub update checking
HomePage	Nexus update checking; shown as a link

Optional: Enable Update Checking

Add at least one or both of these to your Info.json:

• Repository: GitHub repository.json URL
• HomePage: Nexus Mods Page

Optionally, to provide the best experience for users you should also include:

• Description: shown in the detail panel
• Requirements: list of mod IDs your mod depends on
