Version Archive & Rollback

DV Mod Manager caches previous mod versions so you can revert at any time.

How Archiving Works

When archiving is enabled (the default), a ZIP copy is saved before updating or uninstalling a mod.

Archives are stored at:

<AppData>/DVModManager/versions/<ModId>/<version>.zip

Each mod has a versions.json manifest listing all archived versions with metadata.

Viewing Archived Versions

Select a mod in either panel. The detail panel shows a Version History list with version numbers, sources, and archive dates.

Rolling Back

1. Select the mod
2. In the version history, click Rollback next to the version you want
3. The current version is archived (if not already), then the selected version is extracted

Rollback uses local archives only, no downloads.

Cache Management

Size limit

Default max size is 5 GB. Change MaxCacheSizeBytes in Settings Reference.

Pruning

When the cache exceeds the limit, the oldest archives are deleted first. Pruning runs automatically after each archive operation.

Disabling archiving

Set EnableVersionArchiving to false in settings. Existing archives are kept but no new ones are created.
