Prehistory (caveman!)
After the intro, you'll gain control immediately. Wake up your friend, then check your wardrobe. Wake up the other guy, then enter the room right of yours.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39427 - Caveman's Game
To win the "minigame", you must interact with any caveman 19 times, then interact with the last caveman to enter the room. Stand in front of the door and you'll just need to be able to count to 19. You'll get some assorted crafting materials. I suggest doing this at least three times for the next achievement.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39428 - Homo Habilis
There are more materials in this room and the next room by searching wardrobes and cupboards. Once you're done, head out southwest and enter the southwest door. Interact with the guy behind the rocks, and craft Bone + Hard Rock twice for two Stone Knives. Stone Knife + normal Hide for a Leather Cord, then Leather Cord + normal Hide for Wild Dress. Beast Horn + Beast Fang for Nose Ornament, Beast Horn + Stone Knife for Clack Case. Big Stick + Bone for Shiny Spear, Big Stick + Beast Fang for Spiky Club, Big Stick + normal Hide for Burning Club, Big Stick + Tough Hide for Bang Bang Drum, Tough Hide + Hard Rock for Gatsun Glove. You should now have 15 items in your inventory. Feel free to experiment with more crafting as you get more materials.
Optimize Pogo's equipment, and give Gori naught but a single Hide. Exit the crafting room and enter the northwest room. Go to the guy with white hair. Afterwards, exit the room and go into the middle room. Take the right exit, and speak with the guy in front of the white hair guy, save, speak with the... let's just call him Leader. Pressing Y will have Pogo sniff out enemies. Find and defeat some enemies. Once you have three Meaty Bones, return to Leader. Experiment with your moves while you're out here. Meaty Bones are decent healing items, so get some more afterwards if you wish by speaking with the guy who takes Leader's place and fighting more enemies. Leave the way you came in, and return to Pogo's room in the southeast, and go to bed.
When you wake up, go to the main area and enter the northeast door. Check the meatless bone, then Gori. Leave, then reenter, and check the bush that had meat in front of it before. Find the bush with the woman in it twice, then use you Y button to find her a third time. When she moves again, pick up the third Meaty Bone on the ground, walk towards her and use it. Exit and reenter the room, and go back to the bush.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39429 - World's First Stealth Mission
Don't try to give Bel the Clack Case or Wild Dress yet. Interact with Gori, and return to your room. Go to the Leader's room, and then the entrance in the top right. After the cutscene, return to the food room where you found Bel, and interact with a bush. Finally, return to your room and hit the hay. When you wake up, check the bush. Check it again, and use your Wild Dress-
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39431 - !!!
-and Clack Case.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39430 - Not Interested, Huh?
You'll lose the dress, but keep the Clack Case, so reequip it. If you have some, use two Meaty Bones on the bush afterwards. If not, kill some things for two. Once you leave Pogo's room and don't hear Bel's stomach growl, go to the hub, through the middle door, save, and interact with the guy facing away. Exit south, and interact with the car in your way. Try to win without Bel dying, she'll need the EXP. After the cutscene, you'll be given three Giant Meaty Bones.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39432 - Can You Hear The Bel?
Bel learns Laa Laa at level 7, so fight enemies out here until then. Don't enter the cave in the top right yet, or she will leave the party. A character goes unconscious when their HP hits 0, and they die when they're hit after this. You can heal an unconscious character with normal healing items, and they will still gain EXP, unlike dead characters. The dead return to life after battle. Bel unfortunately sucks bad, so the best thing you can do with her is stay out of the way and pass so Gori can move faster. Her Wavewave is pretty good healing, though. Once you've cleared out every enemy, enter the cave and immediately exit it without going further in to respawn them.
While grinding, Pogo will learn PushPush. If you make a bunch of Nose Ornaments and put them all on him, it'll be the most damage he can deal right now. They're made with Beast Horn + Beast Fang, and the guy in the top left can make them for you. Any other item that raises IQ will help, too.
After you learn Laa Laa, you'll get the achievement. Enter the cave, and if you see a cutscene, interact with the sticks on the ground to progress. Go through the entrance, and win again. PushPush is easy money here. Go get Gori and follow him. Fall for it, and pick any direction and walk. Use you superior sense of smell to get your bearings. There's some food down here, and you won't be able to come back after, but it's nothing important. Go right and down until you're on the outer loop, then go to the top and keep interacting with the thing that smells like Zaki. If the room gets brighter, you're in the right place. Go north and you'll end up outside again.
Follow the path until you go through an entrance, and go right and stand at the edge. Make your way down the left path. Do not enter the left or middle entrance, go in the right one instead. Interact with Gori five times. Get some more materials here if you wish, or head back the way you came. The point of no return is coming up, and theres still some cleanup left.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39433 - A Prehistoric Gag
Back at the hole you fell down, the Watanabe Event will occur. Jump over it, and make sure you have a bone.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39434 - Rock and Roll, Baby!
See that rock on the cliff next to the cave's entrance? Interact with it facing north 100 times. Not 99. Not 101. One hundred. When you do it right, you'll hear a very quiet click. Now get over to the left side of this area. A new cave has opened up. Enter it, and use your Bone on it in exchange for the Basic Rock. Equip it on Pogo immediately.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39435 - The Gods Must Be Crazy!
While sniffing around inbetween the cave and your old home, you might smell something that smells different. Kill other nearby enemies, save, and chase it down while mashing interact. Some sources say it spawns near the tree, but I found it on the far left side and on the far right side. Eventually, EVENTUALLY, you'll get into a fight with King Mammoth. Move Pogo diagonal of it and try to get it asleep with Zzz Zzz, then hammer it with PushPush. If it moves again, go back to Zzz Zzz. Move Gori diagonal of both and heal with Giant Meaty Bones or pass. You want this thing to have as few turns as possible. It has 992 HP, but it feels like a lot more. Even after all of this, the Cola Bottle is still only a 1/3 chance of dropping. If it's too much trouble, grind to level 16 for Pogo's Dodegesden. Equip the King's Fang to Pogo, but not the Cola Bottle yet, and head back to where you got Gori back.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39437 - They Say That Coca-Cola Can Dissolve Your Bones...
You're going to be defeating the final boss twice. With the Cola Bottle unequipped, head through the skull door next to where the female gorillas are, then through the next skull door. After defeating three Ku Tribesmen, the event should end. If not, exit the room, interact with the female gorilla that followed you, reenter the room and do it again. The next room is the point of no return. Anyway, I mentioned defeating the final boss twice? When the battle starts, have Pogo use the Cola Bottle on it. When the achievement pops, load your save, equip the bottle to Pogo, and fight it again. You could theoretically master the game without equipping the bottle, but it'll save a huge headache later, so do it.
First, Zaki. PushPush a few times. When the main event begins, Pogo's on PushPush, Bel moves behind him and begins Laa Laa, then starts healing with Wavewave. Gori uses Eeeh! right on top of it followed by Ngah!, and Zaki? You just be Zaki. points at Zaki He's kinda weak.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39438 - ... LOOOVE!
Near Future (mecha!)
This chapter has flashing lights. A lot of 'em. I'll point out when they'll happen, but if you're sensitive to that, keep your room lights on while you play.
Pick either option. After the cutscene, feel free to walk around and speak with people or read their minds by pressing Y. Once you're done, walk to the right of the Taiyaki stand. Read the mind of the guy behind you.
By himself, Akira sucks in battles, especially in early game. Park yourself behind the Taiyaki guy and use Mother Image or Sleet Image. On Matsu's turn, some Pissed Fists should handle things. After the battle, read Matsu's mind.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pOaD_nka3NY - Here's what you missed by not playing Remake.
After the cutscene, head inside. Walk and talk around all you want. Once you wanna move on, talk to the boy wearing green, closest to the TV, then check the TV. Talk to Watanabe (no relation) again, then head into the leftmost room and read the mind of the girl in yellow. Exit the orphanage, and you'll be on the map.
Try to evade fights, since Akira's alone. If you do get in a fight, ignore the small enemies and Elbow the big one, named Crusader. Make your way to the left side of the map, to the house that has the ANTIQUES sign. Read the mind of the door in the back. Follow Toei down the stairs, and get on the red platform. Flashing lights for this cutscene. Speak to Toei, then head back to the orphanage. In the far left room, speak with Kaori. Check the bottom right corner of the room to find the outlet. Read the green thing's mind, then Toei's.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39489 - Worth It
Go into the top left room and speak with the boy in the bottom left bed. Enter the far right room of the house, and speak with Taeko. Check the washing machine behind her, then enter the right room and sit on the toilet. Keep getting on and off of the toilet until you obtain Taeko's Panties. Now, equip them to your head, then take them off after you earn the achievement.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39493 - It Was An "Accident"
Now that Taro's in your party, using Teleport to escape a field battle will very rarely end you up in an occupied orphanage bathroom. I don't know what the chance is, but it's pretty low. If you get fed up with grinding for a two-point achievement, there is an alternative method that was absolutely unintentional. I'll go over it when it comes up.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39490 - Come On, Buriki Daioh...
Make your way back to the Antique shop. Go downstairs and keep going until you reach a door. Speak with Toei, and select Yeah. Go back upstairs. Feel free to toggle fast forward for these stairs if you get bored. Once upstairs, speak with Toei and interact with things in the order he tells you to. Pink statue, Toei's book, xylophone, blue mask near Toei, Buriki Daioh, sink, toilet. Everything except Buriki Daioh is upstairs. Follow Toei out, then interact with anything or everything. Once you're done, get back on the toilet.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39491 - I Don't Want To Know How This Happened...
Exit the bathroom and save before speaking with Toei. Pick "Refine," then "Taeko's Panties." This achievement is also RNG dependent. If you get Rider Boots, load your save and try again. It HAS to be a Potion No.9. While you're at it, return to the orphanage and check the clothesline in front of Taeko a few times for multiple more items to refine.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39494 - Gadget Maniac
It's possible to fully equip Taro right now with items refined by Toei. First, Optimize its equipment to get the Head, Left and Right Arm, and Body out of the way. If you wish, you can also unequip Akira's Sneaks and give them to it for Feet. Taeko's Stockings, Punk Jackets, and Full-body Tights can be refined into Rider Belts, which can fill out Taro's accessories. If you refine everything else (excluding the First Aid and Potion No.9) you should have enough to mostly equip Akira, too.
Once that's all done, exit the Antique shop and go to the park on the left. Stand next to Matsu and check the Taiyaki booth. A customer will come up and ask for one. Depending on the customer, you can charge them more or less. A little kid will buy for 100 or 300, a woman will buy for 300 or 1000, a man in blue will buy for 1000 or 10,000, and an old woman will buy for 100 or 10,000. A successful sale will earn you some snacks for the orphanage which can also be used as healing items. 100 = Taiyaki, 300 = Banana Crepe, 1000 = Gutsy Taiyaki, 10,000 = Misawa Taiyaki. I suggest going until you have around 3 of each.
Return to the orphanage. The boy outside wants Gutsy Taiyaki. Enter the building. If something happens outside, ignore it. In the top left room, Watanabe wants a Banana Crepe, Yuki wants a Misawa Taiyaki, and Akki wants a Taiyaki. If something outside hasn't happened yet, it probably will by the time you walk past the cupboards near the entrance. If you still want It Was An Accident, do not go outside yet. Instead, head into the bathroom and it will trigger. I submitted a ticket about this achievement a month ago, and it hasn't been resolved. The person who made this set was last online... in 2017? Let's just say it's intentional.
Head outside and read Taeko's mind. After the cutscene, you'll be at the docks. Go left, and keep following the grunts. Walk around randomly if you must. Once they exit the room south, follow and walk up to Matsu. The fight shouldn't be too hard. Afterwards, read a grunt's mind and speak with Matsu, then read his mind. Follow him out, and return to the orphanage. Enter the room on the bottom left, and read Kaoru's mind. Exit and go to the building on the right of the map. Before entering, you should be at least level 9.
Save. Walk inbetween the guards and pick "Nope." Move Akira right inbetween them and pick "Flame Image", and move Taro right. It should get hit, counter, and activate Akira's attack. Akira's most important stats are Speed and IQ, since he's mostly using magic that takes charge time. As you make your way through the building, if you get in a fight with multiple types of enemies, try to determine which is the "leader" and take it out first.
This place is mostly a straight line, but it's still easy to get lost. Go up the escalator and into the rightmost room, then check the lockers for a Throwing Knife and Hand Grenade. Go back down the escalator and through the double door, then into the south room for more lockers. Continue through the hall up an escalator, then south. Go down the right escalator, and into the south room. The door being guarded has 7 lockers, and the door next to it has 4. Exit, go up the escalator, through the door, and down the left escalator. Equipping Taro with the Plasma Spark or 100V Laser will give it new moves. The door being guarded has another battle behind it. This battle is the point of no return. If you need any achievements other than the Watanabe Event and completion, turn around and do them now.
After the battle, Matsu will rejoin you. Go through where he came from and save. The second door is locked, and the third is guarded. The easiest way to win against it is to have Akira keep healing with Heal Touch or Self Heal as Taro and Matsu pummel him with 100V Laser and Heavy Blow. Go on through, check the empty terminal, then go through the next door. Navigate and read the mind of the person in the back. Return to the double doors, save, and select F49F.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39492 - Oh, Watanabe!!!
This thing's weakness becomes clear as soon as it turns around. Move Akira all the way up and left one, then pass. Have Taro walk behind it and use Taro Punch. If you don't miss, you'll win. Flashing lights during the battle after you connect, then after the word "HOUSE" in the cutscene after. The achievement triggers here.
After the cutscene, go to the Antiques shop and read Toei's mind. Head north of the small building between the orphanage and the shrine. Talk to Matsu, then return to the orphanage. You should probably move Taro's equipment that gave him more moves over to Akira now. You don't have to, but you can. Speak with Kaori to the left, enter and exit a room, then enter the top left room and speak with Kaori, then read her mind. Kids, do not try this at home. Flashing lights for multiple seconds after three guys fire an attack, then some more seconds after "S'nuff!" and the two dialogs following it. After the cutscene, read Matsu's mind.
Start moving towards the temple. You'll be attacked on the way, marking the perfect time to try your new moves. Babylon Kick for single target Jomjom Bullet or Halogen Laser for multiple. Save after the battle against Donryu before reaching the shrine. Flashing lights when the animals start moving until a rumbling noise starts.
This fight's easy. Just mash Babylon Kick until it dies. If your legs get bound use Metal Hit, and if your arms get bound use Jomjom Bullet.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39495 - Rejecting Human Instrumentality
Imperial China (kungfu!)
Remember that, while naming something, you only have space for 6 letters. Even if the martial art is named Xin Shan Quan, the most you'd be able to fit writing yourself is Xin Sh. That is enough letters for Jarona, however. Before leaving your house, check all of the cabinets and pots for equipment and items. You can also take the plants outside.
Once down the mountain, I went southeast first, to Yuan Hua Street. Go up the street until a cutscene plays. Interact with the man in blue. Pick "Calm down" then "Fine...", or pick "Sure" if you want a fight. Sammo joins the party. Talk around if you want, then exit south and go west into the Bamboo Forest.
Continue through the forest, getting in some fights if you want. Collect the green plants, some of them are Healing Plant. You'll need 4 of these by the time you leave. Eventually, a bandit will stop you. Make sure you pick "I'm broke". The master's strongest move is LaoHuZhiWu. Li joins the party. Once you have all four Healing Plants and Li, exit the forest the way you came and head southwest, into Wong Town.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39441 - Art of Healing
Once inside, use your four Healing Plants on most of the people who are hunched over. You'll get some items for your troubles. There will be one more hunched over person than there are Healing Plants. Use a Meat Bun on them, and they'll admit they were hungry.
After using a Healing Plant on the middle woman, someone will bolt past you. Interact with the man blocking the fence at the bottom of the room when you're ready. Interact again, and pick "Pardon me...", then walk up to the person. It's not hard.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39442 - Please, Master!
After the battle, pick "Sorry, but...", then "No way". Return to your house. Yuan will get in your way every step of the way. Keep picking "No way" until he's blocking your front door, then pick "Oh, alright". Save, then enter your house.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39443 - This Old Body Gave Up Sooner Than Expected...!
Stand in front of a pupil, and keep passing turns until you die. You'll game over, but you'll earn the achievement. Load, then mash LaoHuZhiWu until you win. After the cutscene, you'll be on top of the mountain.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39445 - Watanabe Master
For this achievement, Sammo needs to be your pupil. Train with only him to be optimal. After twelve consecutive Sammo Smackdowns, you'll get another cutscene. The achievement will trigger way later. Head to the southeast Yuan Hua Street. Go up the street until you see some guys, and stand in the middle of them and talk. Once again, use LaoHuZhiWu to defeat them.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39444 - That's a Beautiful Peach!
After the battle, speak with the leftmost woman. You'll be given dinner and a show... sorry. Return to your house. If you did everything right, the master will teach Sammo his ultimate art. Check out those new rocks on top of the mountain, then go back to the Bamboo Forest and go all the way through. After a battle, you'll see the Watanabe Event and get the achievement.
Go inside and start putting BTA. It's possible to run around some enemies, but it's easier to go through them. Once inside, don't forget to check the pots for items. Once you get to a room with a bunch of people around a table, save. Step inside, and Sammo will rejoin the party before a fight. Sammo's strongest attack here is QingJiaoNiuRouSi, though BangBangJi and LaoHuZhiWu do have their uses. Once you get to the second room with a big table, save again. You'll be given the chance to save inbetween every battle. Sammo has a lot of health, so if the master gets low, move him behind Sammo and use Squirrel Kick. Don't forget about your items, either. Definitely save before the last two battles. Once you've won against everyone, save one more time before interacting with Lee.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39446 - New School
Once battle begins, do not use the skill "XuanYaLianShanQuan". Instead, use Pig's Feet for damage. If you're feeling really lucky, you can try HuiGuoRou, but it may not be worth it. If you have the Fukei's Feather, that's more damage. The Gourd isn't worth it. Once you win, the achievement will trigger.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39447 - Honorable Inheritance
Twilight of Edo Japan (ninja!)
This chapter hates you. That's why I'm writing a guide for it, specifically. Due to the 0 and 100 kill achievements, you should save in two slots when given the chance.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2lmrCJ6Zgg
This is a link to a 0 kills TAS. It does a few things differently, but it's still a good visual reference.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39467 - Give Peace a Chance
After the intro, Oboro'll spawn behind two guards. Move north, inbetween the next pair of guards to trigger a battle. Run from it, and continue north. Another cutscene will play, explaining the password system. Every time the bell rings, the password will switch between "Mountain: River" and "Mountain: Origin." Oboro will point out each time the bell rings, so it's on you to remember or save before it's important. After the cutscene, travel northeast into a room with a guard and a chest. Inside the chest is a Chain Mail you equip to Oboro's body. Exit, go northwest, and evade the Ronin. Head through the north door, and you'll exit the building. Run down and left, evading all encounters, then go between the pair of guards in front of the door. By this point, the bell likely hasn't rung, so the password is River. Remember the building in the bottom left for later as you pass the guards into the building. Once inside, go through the rightmost door to witness a Ninja spin through a false wall. Follow him, and give the password. Should still be River. Go up the rope ladder, and head left to trigger a cutscene.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39450 - Poor Watanabe
Achievement will trigger after the cutscene. Go downwards and interact with the left chest to obtain a Money. You'll need four of these, and there are ten total, but half are locked behind something way later and one requires a kill. Stand over the peepholes in the floor to see some cutscenes, if you wish. Get the Castella from the chest in the bottom left of the room, and get the Suijin's Tabi from the one in the middle left. Equip the Suijin's Tabi to Oboro's feet, and head to the top left of the room to spawn a Ninja. Go invisible until he's to the right, then book it into the exit to the left. Head south on the roof, and do not enter the building. Continue east until you're in the room above the gate. Avoid stepping on the tile in the middle of the room, it's a pitfall. Continue along the wall until you enter another building. Open the two rightmost chests for the Storehouse Key and another Castella. Exit to the right.
Back on the wall, loop around or fall down the pitfall in the gate and get back to the two men who asked for the password from earlier. Interact with the bottom left building from the top middle, and use the Storehouse Key, then enter. Going toward the chest will spawn a Ninja right behind you. There's barely enough time to get the chest then go invisible, but it's easier to go invisible immediately. Inside the chest is a Basement Key. Go back past the guards, then enter the northwest hall and keep going north. Go through the southeast door to be in one of the peephole's rooms from earlier. There are two Castella in these chests. North exit twice, and you'll be outside. Northeast are two guards and another storehouse. Use the Storehouse Key on it, and enter. Do not interact with the woman in here. Two Tenmusu in the pots below her, and in the chests are an Ode Shuriken, Genji's Tabi, Izanagi's Scroll, Topknot, and Money. Equip the Topknot on Oboro's head, and the Genji's Tabi on Oboro's feet. Fight the two ghosts that were near the woman. These don't count as kills, since they aren't human, and you're gonna need the EXP for later. Use anything but Blazing Firefly, since the ghost will avoid the tile damage and your other moves deal more. Note that with the Genji's Tabi equipped, you will absorb health from fire tiles instead of taking damage. After the two ghosts, Oboro should be level 3. Exit and reenter if you think you want more EXP, but you'll be fine for now. The guards won't let you through, so return to atop the wall and where you got the Storehouse Key. Go to the top left exit, then save.
This is a puzzle that failing can make you waste a lot of time, and succeeding can get you some decent items. Go left and interact with the lever. Loop around left, and get on the gear turning north. Once you're off it, hold right until you get on a conveyor belt, then go up and right to hit another lever. Go up, right, then down and you'll be back where you started. Loop back around the left until you're back at the gear, then get on the conveyor belt going right, then down more gears. Lever, then exit left and go north again. Get on the gear going north and open the chest for a Grappling Hook, then hit the lever and go back down. Right until you're on the first belt, then go down the gear and go left to hit another lever. Go up, and you'll be next to a rope ladder. Ignore it and obtain the Fujin's Scroll from the chest. Fall down the big hole in the middle. You'll land in a cell in the dungeon. Use your Basement Key on the door, then save.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39468 - Kajo Waraku
Open the cell of the man in the bottom left, and speak with him. Give him three of your Castella or Tenmusu, then close the menu and speak with him again. Achievement will trigger. If you really want those items back, load your save and don't open his cell. If you wish, take note of the inmates of the cells here, but don't open any. There are more cells behind a fake wall to the right, but there's also a guard. Exit through the paper door to the left and go up the stairs and out a door. There will be a man next to you. Do not speak with him and open the chest for a Kotetsu. Equip it on Oboro's right hand, and exit south. There's a false wall to the southeast with a chest containing another Izanagi's Scroll. Ignore this woman, you can't fight her anyway. Exit and go south and you'll officially be on the first floor.
Evade all these guards and enter the top middle door to see a sleeping woman. Save, then speak with her. She will attempt to kick your ass. Defeating her won't count as a kill yet, so she'll be our source of EXP for the evening. Depending on where she spawns, move roughly 2 tiles away so Blazing Firefly will hit at it's furthest range. It'll do 0 damage, but the tile damage and self absorb will help immensely. She'll move in, so move away until she's two tiles away again. If you get cornered, let her hit you and move away before using an item. Hit her with Water Arts to hopefully keep her away and deal a little damage. If too many tiles get covered in water, use Blazing Firefly again. Betting on Cross Slice turning her away should be your last resort. Don't forget about your items. After you kill her, she'll run away and declare that this isn't over. You'll now find her in certain rooms chasing you down. Interacting with her will start another encounter. Do this as you move, or wait to do it until later.
Exit the room, and go through the northeast hallway. There's a Ronin to the left. Speak with him and give the password. It has no doubt changed several times. In the room he's guarding is a Shinobi's Birdlime and Money. Skip the middle room, and enter the right one. Stepping on the pillow will begin an encounter with a robot, which also doesn't count as a kill. This can also work for EXP, but the relentless woman gives out more. Left and up the stairs to the second floor, and a hall the woman will definitely block you in. Save, then defeat her repeatedly until you reach level 9. Respawn her by taking the stairs. Defeating her too much will make her Die For Real, locking you out of 0 kills. It will earn an achievement, though.
As you grind, feel free to experiment with new moves. Notably, Strength of Ninja will deal incredible damage but take a while to launch, so it's wise to use at the start of battle. Once you believe you have ground sufficiently, enter the southeast door to find a woman and some loot. The woman is blocking the middle pot, and will fight you if you speak to her, but the pot below contains a Tenmusu and the chest has an Ode Shuriken. There's also another Kanesada on the wall, if you want. In the paper door hall to the south, head through the false wall on the left and go up the rope ladder. Save right now, I'm not kidding.
This room is trapped to hell. It's best to just not deal with it, but there are a couple of chests you'll wanna open, including two tied to achievements. Go right, to the end of the room, and time going over the pitfall so there's floor beneath it and open the chest for a Fudo-Myoo's Fuda. You'll automatically rush to the other side of the pitfall after timing it right. Now, go back up across the pitfall, and go through the left corridor back through the pitfalls. Continue to another room with a chest, but be careful to once again time your crossing. After obtaining the Fuma Shuriken, go back the way you came. Back at the rope ladder, save again and go south. Evade the pitfalls until you reach a room with a checkerboard-pattern of pitfalls. Navigate them and open the chest containing a Shinobi Gauntlet.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39461 - Like the Wind
There's another achievement here, as well. Save, then fall down the hole directly north of the chest with the Shinobi Gauntlet. Go left, down, down, right, and open the chest for This's Awesum!
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39460 - That Guy's Amazing Geta!
This is the best footwear in the chapter. However, if you want to keep it, you'll have to fall down a pitfall on any other tile in the room and return from the dungeon. If you don't wanna do that, load your save after getting the achievement. If you know where you're going, it's pretty quick. Once you're back in the area with the Shinobi Gauntlet, evade pitfalls and head to the right, down the rope ladder.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39459 - Castellan
Go up the stairs to the third floor. Go through the false wall on the left, and speak with the man in the corner of the room. If you haven't killed anyone, he'll give you ten Castella and the achievement. Return to the room after the stairs, save, and go up the rope ladder. Go north, interact with the peg, and use your Grappling Hook. The robots in here will throw you down into the dungeon, so just ignore the chests. If you really want them, the bottom left contains a Genji's Helm, and the top right has another Grappling Hook, which is useless at this point.
Down the rope ladder, up the stairs to the fourth floor, up another rope ladder. This one has robots you can fight. Kill them all, or just go south. Bottom left chest has Genji Armor, which is way better than your Chain Mail. Before going down the rope ladder, ensure you have three Money and save. Through the door, do not step on either pillow, and check the false wall in the back a few times. Pick "Not at all!" and a battle will begin.
For 0 kills, you have to kill all of Gennai's minions before him. This can be done with strategically placed Shuriken Storms, or your Fudo-Myoo's Fuda. Once it's just you and Gennai, avoid standing beneath, beside, or diagonal to him. Pelt him with Shuriken Storms, and use an item if he tags you with Electric Discharge, and he'll fall quickly, dropping a Zenmai.
Go backwards, up the rope ladder, and throw yourself down the hole in the middle. Back in the dungeon, go through the false wall to the right and into the cell on the far left. This will be your fourth Money. Now, check the cell beside it, and use the Basement Key on it. Speak with the man inside, and let him go. He will refill certain chests containing money and armors, and even pop an achievement for you! What a nice guy.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39457 - Ganbare Goemon!
You don't need to collect any more Money, but going back for extra armors isn't a bad idea. Since Gennai's dead, every mechanical trap has been disabled, so the pitfall room of hell isn't so bad anymore. Goemon doesn't refill the Shinobi Gauntlet or This's Awesum!, though. Once you have at least 4 Money, get back to the room where you defeated Gennai and head through the false wall. Interact with the small hole in the top right corner, and use three Moneys on it. Not two, not four. Go back where you came and you'll be in a different room. Save, then use the Zenmai on the puppet in the middle. This thing meows at you? Kill it however you see fit. Afterwards, it will join your party.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39456 - O, Robot
O-robo isn't a bad party member, but for the secret bosses, it's better for you to have an extra turn, so skip it on 100 kills. Anyway, be so careful in here. The tile O-robo was on will now be a pitfall. If you step on it, you both will fall into the dungeon, and O-robo will shatter, making 0 kills impossible. Exit through the false wall, do not step on that pillow, and put your fourth Money in the hole. Go through the door on your left, and up the stairs.
Fifth floor. Stepping through the door will make O-robo fulfill his purpose. Afterwards, save in a third slot. Walk past it and into the room. After a cutscene, Ryoma will join the party. Give him some equipment, the man's struggling. Fight the ghost. Now that you have a second party member, battles are a lot easier, since running out of health doesn't mean dying. Remember that after an enemy's attack you have time to move three spaces, and you'll probably be fine. After the battle, enter the secret passage. Just before the stairs, another ghost will attack you. This one's a little tougher, but still manageable. Afterwards, go up the stairs.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39465 - You Wouldn't Hit a Woman, Would You?
Sixth floor. Stand in front of the door, and a cutscene will play because you didn't kill any women. Don't kill her, obviously. After the cutscene, don't move for a few seconds. You'll get the real reward, and the achievement. Equip both the Maid's Obi and Medicine Box to yourself. Now's your best chance to grind a little. It'd be faster to kill guards for EXP, and thus battle the superbosses while going for 100 kills, but I think the equipment the bosses drop is worth it. If you don't want the equipment, you can just do it during 100 kills.
Fall back down to the dungeon and exit the building southways. You'll pass the guards who didn't let you pass earlier. Enter the building to the right and fight some ghosts. This will take a while, so put on a podcast or something and take full advantage of fast forward. By a while, I mean 4 EXP per battle a while. Your goal is for Oboro to hit level 14. At level 10, you'll learn Blade of Wind, making this a little faster. At level 14, you'll learn Shadow Mirror. It can do great damage.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39451 - Guardian of the Lake
Lord Iwama can be encountered in the moat. You can get there either through the dungeon, or by going down the tree on the way to where you got the Storehouse Key. It's the shadow in the moat that isn't breathing through a reed. Using Shadow Mirror on it while it faces away may deal around 200 damage. What I did was separate Oboro and Ryoma to the top and bottom rows so Iwama's Water call couldn't hit both, then had Oboro mash Shadow Mirror while Ryoma used Quickdraw Wolf Fang while diagonal to make its stats lower, or use an Izanagi's Scroll to heal Oboro. If the fish goes to the bottom half of the screen, have Oboro instead use Wind Blade. Heal before someone dies, since being on opposite sides of the map makes it a little hard to get over in time. Alternatively, if you zone it out hard enough with Quickdraw and Wind Blade, it might start wasting its turns moving. The Suijin Scale didn't drop for me, so you may have to load your save a few times.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39455 - You Cannot Have This Blade...
Go to the passage between the tree and the moat. On the way there is a diamond in the top corner of a corner. Stand so that it is touching the bottom of the screen, then move two tiles up, and move downward. Ignore the pot, it's useless now. Go back up and through the fake wall. Save. Interacting with the sword on the wall, and then with the man that appears after will trigger a battle with Majin Ryunosuke. Do not stand directly next to him, since his Road to Ruin can instant kill you. Have Oboro use Top Spin to make him waste turns turning, and have Ryoma shoot rapidly. You won't deal much damage like this, but you won't take any damage, either. Shuriken Storm and Bronze Leaf, if you have it, will deal more damage but are riskier. After defeating him, collect the sword on the wall for your achievement. To leave the pot hall, walk in front of it, ten tiles up, and hold down until you're out.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39466 - Secret Orders
Head back to the sixth floor. Enter the door you go the Medicine Box at before, and save. The enemy inside is a total pushover. Leave the room south, then head south again to battle the final boss. If you beat the secret bosses, he will be too easy. If you haven't killed a single human, Ryoma will give you his Yoshiyuki and earn you the 0 kills achievement.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39469 - The Honorable Restoration
During the cutscene following the final boss, Ryoma will ask if you want to join him. Pick "Interesting." and the achievement will follow.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39453 - You Have Brought Shame Upon Your Family
Load your save just before Ryoma joins the party and start killing guards. You'll want to be at least level 10, though going higher isn't a bad idea. The Outcast Ending is only obtainable while Oboro is by himself. I don't know if it's possible with O-robo, but Ryoma will stop you. Once you're ready, head back to the entrance where you ran away from those guards, and kill them to leave the castle. After multiple confirmation text boxes, a gauntlet of battles will begin. At the start of the normal enemy battles, move above and behind a topmost enemy, kill it with Blade of Wind, and take out the rest of them with it while moving as little as possible.
Eventually, a boss fight will start against one very powerful minion. His strongest attacks are far away ones, so try to get right beside him and mash Blade of Wind so he'll use his weaker ones. Alternate between healing and attacking, and you'll win eventually. He has 816 HP. Achievement will pop after winning.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39464 - The Deadly Arts
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/snes/562650-live-a-live/faqs/64434
This is a Gamefaqs list that goes over every possible kill in the chapter. It doesn't go into too much detail. I'll go over the missables and more elaborate kills in too much detail. First, make sure you don't kill any women before the sixth floor. The woman who gives you the Medicine Box won't appear, making her a missable kill.
Outside of the Castle: 4 humans guarding the enterance, 5 humans in the first house (1 woman), 5 humans between the two houses. Your first two missable kills are the guards who ask for the password. Pick any option other than the correct one to fight them. There is also a man hiding beneath the roof to the northwest of them.
Second house has 20 humans (8 women). 6 of these are missable. The first is the Ronin in the room directly north of the entrance, missed by witnessing the Watanabe Event. Second is the Ninja through the false wall in the room on the right. He'll ask for the password, and won't accept a nonsense answer. Save before, or remember the password and pick the wrong one out of "River" and "Origin." Don't go into the attic yet. The left door before the hallway is where 6 women are located. Down the left hall, at the end is a man asking for the password. The room he guards will house two kills, one man and one missable woman. Killing the man first will make her run, so save these two for after the sixth floor. You may want to hold off on the man in the next room for a moment as well. Go through the false wall next to him and up the rope ladder. Open the two chests, then stand over the leftmost peephole and no others. With your new armor and likely being level 5, you can fight that man now. Go up the hall, and through the rightmost south door for two more missables. Standing over the north peephole will despawn these two. You should have 25 kills by now.
Exiting the attic to the left, on the wall are five* kills. Once you get the Storehouse Key, do not obtain the Basement Key. Instead, fall right into the dungeon, where a missable kill will taunt you. Go invisible until he opens your cell door, then kill him. The man in the cell next to you and the cell below him are both missables. The top will dissapear after defeating Gennai, and the bottom will kill himself if you feed him. There aren't any more missable kills down here, but if you don't go through the false wall and into Ryoma's cell before defeating Gennai, you'll miss 8 kills way later.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39462 - The Fall of the Shinobi
To defeat the ghost in here, you need to kill all other ghosts in the room and get to it immediately. Her dialog will change when you've done it right. Keep throwing Shuriken Storms at her and she'll go down eventually.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39463 - I Will Cure You of the Disease Called Life
Ryoma will join your party after. There's a man in the cell next to where he was. Save, kill him, then head through the false wall to the right, and you'll be in the moat. If you bump into Lord Iwama, run away. Other than the fish, there are 3 men here. Continue through to the other side, climb the tree, and go back to the storehouse where you got the Basement Key in 0 kills. In here are 7 humans. Reenter and exit the house north. Outside 2 has 3 humans. By this point, I had 46 kills. You can ignore the storehouse. You'll have to loop back around to enter the castle from the dungeon.
First floor has 13 humans (3 women). Obtain the Izanagi's Scroll from the box woman. If it's time to kill her, exit and reenter, check the box, and go invisible for a long time. She'll peek out eventually. Encounter that woman you used to grind EXP in 0 kills. This floor's only missable is a password Ronin. You'll see a Ninja through one of the walls, but you won't be able to get to him. Two women next door. Head to the next floor with 55 kills.
Second floor has 5 humans (1 woman). Through the screen door hall, there's one missable man who asks for the password. Back through the false wall in the screen door hall, go down the stairs. You should be in a room with stairs and a rope ladder, and two chests in the room below. These chests may already have been opened by you. Go invisible in here for a long time, and a human will appear. Go back up the stairs, through the two screen halls, and go up the set of stairs at the end. 59.
Third floor has 8 humans, five of which are missable. When you see a woman wearing purple around a corner, save before going around the corner. If you aren't fast enough, you'll lose a kill. Interact with all guards as soon as possible, and do not interact with the man in black. After defeating all guards (if MIB says "One!" you failed), save and speak with him. You'll fight Hannya-maru, who shouldn't be too hard right now. The man in the room behind him is much more difficult. The tiger isn't a problem, but Dumb Monk has powerful attacks. Try to play keepaway with Shuriken Storm and Quickdraw. The room next to Dumb Monk is kill 67. Go up the stairs.
Fourth floor has 7 humans. 4 of them MIGHT be missable? Take the left door and ignore the false wall to find a sleeping man. Talk to him repeatedly to fight him. Loop around right, go down the stairs. This still counts as the fourth floor. The room behind the Ninja houses the 4 men that might be missable. Kill them now, just to be safe, and save before speaking to the woman. 74. Go north and deal with Gennai. O-robo's kind of detrimental in 100 kills, so don't get it. Up the stairs.
Fifth floor has 11 humans. They're all on the route to Ode Iou. Once everyone in Ode's room is dead, you'll be at 85 kills. Kill Miyamoto Musashi, notice the lack of Yodogimi, and continue to the next floor.
Sixth floor is a turning point. One woman, and you are killing her. Afterwards, throwing yourself down to the dungeon is the fastest way down. Moving through the lower floors is a good time to finally kill that woman that's been chasing you. Exiting the dungeon, head into the secret room with the Izanagi's Scroll and and box woman. Interact with the box, go invisible, and wait. She'll peek out eventually. Exit the castle, and go to the second house. Enter the middlemost south door, and kill all women inside. If you haven't killed the one that follows you yet, you'll be at 93. Exit south, then go through the left hall and enter the last door. You'll find the old man and woman from the peephole earlier. Kill the woman first. If you kill the man first, she will escape and you'll miss the kill. 95. Return to the first house, and enter the first door when you enter. 96. Return to the first floor. You may have to enter through the dungeon. Right of the chasing woman's room and through the middle door are two women. 98. Up the stairs and through the door in the bottom right is woman 99, and the chasing woman is 100. Achievement will pop on Oboro's "I've slain 100 people..." thought.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39458 - You Can't Deny My Love!
Distant Future (scifi!)
When the blue hat guy stops talking, move. Follow him out and speak with him. Interact with him again. Check the terminal if you wish, then exit and go north and speak with Kato again. Go inside, interact with the device above everyone, and choose "Press it." After Kato comes in, interact with Huey. Time to earn your first achievement.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39498 - What Do These Buttons Do?
Exit north and continue north, save, and go into the elevator at the end of the hall. Select "Level 1", exit, and go into the door on the left. Really stressing that you should save before doing this... Interact with the screen, press 1, then 2. Load your save before the elevator, and go southwest, into the first south-facing entrance you see.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39499 - Holy Crap, He Just Beat the Game!
Now that you're in the Break Room, interact with Kirk in the bottom left. He'll let you try his arcade game. Stage 1, Mercury. 4 Clicker Rocks. Spinning Star on everything should work. Stage 2, Venus. 6 Heading Birds. Try to Supernova in the middle of all of them, then Spinning Star after. Stage 3, Earth. 1 Fire, 4 Water. Lure a Water near the Fire so it'll use Aqua Flare on it, dooming the Fire to die to tile damage. Move away from the Fire, and Spinning Star everything else. Stage 4, Mars. 1 Mother Tail, 6 Happy Tail. Quark Sword on the Mother Tail., it's purple. Get away and Space Phage until it dies, the Happy Tails will break down. Stage 5, Jupiter. 6 Cosmo Stroller. Don't be on the same horizontal line as one for too long. Space Phage or Spinning Star will work here, or Plasma Ball if you get bored.
Stage 6, Saturn. 3 Gem Parapet. This thing's range is infinite in all three directions it's looking, horizontal vertical and diagonal. Get in a blind spot to all three of them and Quark Sword, one at a time. If some are in a weird spot, you can also use a few Space Phages, but move as soon as they do. Stage 7, Uranus. 1 Electric Mirage, ? Pimuri. This one's annoying. Stand below them all and use Plasma Charge a few times. Once the robot shows itself, nail it with Supernova so it's on a fire tile. If a Pimuri uses Shock Massage, use Supernova again. Once the robot's down, the Pimuri will break down. Stage 8, Neptune. 14 La Lu, 1 La La. During the battle intro that shows enemy names, find the one named La La. Ignore every other enemy, beeline towards it, and use Tachyon Sword a few times. You'll want to deal two damage to it. It may take zero. Keep at it. The La Lu will break down after La La. Final Stage, Pluto. Polka-dot Q, R, Z, and X, 3 of each. Find the ones named X and stay away from them and kill them first. They're white with red dots. Space Phage as usual. Plasma Ball will deal more damage, but they absorb electric tiles, so it's not really worth it. After the Xs are dead, kill whichever are closest to you, and you'll make it out. Achievement will pop after the credits.
Now that that's done, interact with Huey and pick Yes. Check the thing next to Kato, and pick Use. Feel free to give everyone coffee, but give some to Darth last. After the meeting, feel free to explore. Once you're done, head north or south, to the elevator, and go to Level 3. Go through the north door on the left, and speak with Rachel. Speak with everyone, Kirk last, and go back to the elevator. Level 1, enter the door on the left. Interact with Huey. Return to Level 3, enter the left door. Speak with Huey.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39500 - Get It?
Now that Rachel's moved from her spot in here, stand where she was and check her terminal. Back to the elevator, go to Level 2. Go down the right hall, past the sleep chambers, into the south-facing door. Speak with Darth, then with Rachel. Return to Level 3, enter the north left door, and speak with Kato. Speak with Huey, and give your Coffee from earlier to him. Exit south, through the hall, and check the device next to the leftmost door. Enter what you named Cube, and enter.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39501 - Corrupt Data
Once inside Kirk's room, speak with Kato and Darth. Check the device next to his bed, and enter "Warp". Check the bottom of his bed for a Memory Card. Exit and go north, back inside the break room. Check the device next to the arcade cabinet, and pick "Yes". The achievement will trigger after.
Back to Level 1, enter the airlock and speak with Huey. Return to Level 2, and head to the sick bay. Mess around, and return to Huey. Return once again to the sick bay. After the cutscene, you'll be near Kirk's room. Return to the airlock. Interact with everyone, then save. Go two rooms down, and enter the bunker. Exit. From this point onwards, whenever you enter a room, there's a chance the Behemoth will spawn. Cube cannot fight, so don't even go near it. Return to Huey. After the cutscene, you'll be in the break room. Give some coffee to Rachel. Speak to Kato twice, then exit south through the south hallway. Go south, past the elevator, and north right. The Behemoth is guaranteed to spawn in here, so get around it and enter the door. Interact with the terminal, then head north into the cold sleep room.
After the cutscene, you'll get 10 uses of the Power Jack. You're screwed if you run out of these, but you should only need 3. Enter the room. Speak with everyone and check the device, then exit the room and go south. In the room after the hall, you'll hear a noise. Check the bottom left room's device, and enter what you named Cube. Enter, check the device, and return to Kato. Once the cutscene ends, use your Power Jack on the north door. If you don't mind using a few more Power Jacks, now's also a good time to explore. Those arrows next to the elevators lead to vents. I don't know what's in them, they scare me. Once you're done, go to Level 3 and go into the southmost room, then interact with That. Head to level 1 through the south elevator, go to the north elevator and head to level 3, and return to the room with That. Check the device behind it, and go to Level 2 through the south elevator. Follow it, and save before entering Kato's room.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39502 - Memory Data Not Found
Interact with it, and give any name other than Rover. Pick a swear or a slur, I don't care. Achievement will pop after. Once you have it, load, interact with it again, and enter Rover. Elevators will stop working at this point, so you'll need to use the Power Jack to get into a vent next to a north elevator. Go down the ladder twice, and exiting will bring you to Level 2. Go back to Kato's room and speak with him. Return to Darth on the third floor. You'll get the Transponder Unit. Occasionally, while walking around, Darth will call you on it. Use it when he does. Go back to the break room, and save. Interact with the Captain Square cabinet, and use your Transponder Unit.
Stand directly beneath OD-10, and use Info Research on it. It'll counter by turning the floor to electric. Stand diagonal to one of the smaller machines and use Maser Cannon to hit both it and OD-10. Repeat use of Maser Cannon until only OD-10 remains. If you get too low, use Upgrade a few times. Once only it remains, stand next to it and keep upgrading. Eventually, your counter plus the electric field will take it down without it healing.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39504 - Secret Log
After the cutscene, do not give Darth coffee yet. Go back to where you named Cube, and check the terminal. Go to Level 3, and into the middle room Darth couldn't enter earlier. The password is JUDGE. Check the thing in the middle. Press 1 if you want, then press 2. The password is OAKFDE. You'll get your achievement. On Level 2, feel free to check the cold sleep room one last time, then return to the break room and give Darth his coffee.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39505 - What Else?
Modern Day (wrestler!)
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39485 - Adaptable
This is by far the simplest chapter. Three achievements in total, including the one for beating it. Since you can't see your opponent's names until you challenge them, I'll number them. Top left is 1, top middle is 2, bottom left is 4, and so on. For Adaptable, I suggest fighting opponents in this order: 452316
1 - Namcat
His moves are Punchama Kick and Spiral Knee. Panchama Kick is activated right in front of him, and Spiral Knee is activated two tiles away. Once you have both, get in a blind spot and use something he can't counter.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39484 - Was That Really Watanabe?
2 - Great Asia
His moves are Frankensteiner and Tornado Press. Both are really strong, so make space and heal if you need to. Frankensteiner is used in the tiles surrounding the direction he's looking, and Tornado Press is one to two tiles away from him, horizontal vertical or diagonal. You'll wanna drag him to the bottom right corner for the Watanabe Event, so get him as close as you can with movement before using Max Bomber to get him all the way in. Get him facing up and to the left, then stand two tiles away so he keeps using Bite and mash Battle Cry to heal. It may take a while, but eventually, the event will occur.
3 - Tula Han
The two skills you learn from him are Arm Lock and Cross Heel Hold. Both are counters activated by attacking him with either you hands or feet while close enough. Of course, if both your hands and feet are bound, it'll be hard to not take a beating after.
4 - Moribe Seishi
His moves are Abise-Geri and Tsuda. Tsuda is activated in the four tiles around the direction he's facing. Abise-Geri is activated two tiles away from him, horizontal vertical or diagonal. He has other moves that hit these areas, so you may have to wait and heal a while. Abise-Geri is pretty useful, dealing good damage and occasionally making the opponent turn.
5 - Max Morgan
His moves are Max Bomber and German Suplex. It is possible to acquire both one after another by standing in the tile diagonal to him. German Suplex is powerful, while Max Bomber can knock opponents back.
6 - Jackie Iaukea
He has three skills you need to learn. Aloha Clap, Ogre Grip, and Earth-rending Fury. Aloha Clap is activated right in front of him, and Ogre Grip is activated around the direction he's facing. If he stops moving for multiple turns, Get The Hell Out Of Dodge. His third skill, Earth-rending Fury, is activated in a wide area in front of him. It will deal over 200 damage. If you have both of his other skills and want it out faster, bind his hands with Arm Lock, and he'll be forced to use it. To kill him easily, bind his hands, use Battle Cry to see if he stops moving, then get behind him and use Spiral Knee a few times. You should get Adaptable during this fight.
7 - Odie Oldbright
No need to learn moves here. At the start of battle, use Earth-Rending Fury to the left to deal 200 damage immediately, and understand just how long it actually takes. Then, get in a blindspot and mash Abise-Geri.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39486 - The World Warrior
Wild West (cowboy!)
Howdy, pardner. Mad Dog is pathetically easy. Down two, left one, Double Shot. Waltz on in to the double-doored building labelled Crystal Bar. You'll have to interact with building doors to enter them. Sit down at the bar, and speak with the barkeep.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39472 - Glass o' Milk
When the guy who threw a kid at you passes you a glass, pick "Drink". The achievement will trigger. He'll send another, so send it back. Tell him to get lost, then double tap him in the head. Tell Billy it's true, then get the Bourbon in the pot behind the bar before heading outside. Afterwards, talk around the bar with everyone, then speak with Mad Dog twice to move on. Follow your new partner's advice and save. Is now a good time to mention you can run by holding B? Also, when you need to stand still for a moment, perhaps to read something, open the menu. The timer will stop ticking while paused.
Every building has traps, and you'll need all of them. Starting with the Bar, speak with Billy to obtain the Slingshot, then rush through the door behind the counter. Snag another Bourbon from the crate, then interact with the wardrobe on the right to move it. Through the door, the Dresser has-
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39475 - Nice Jacket
the Jacket. Downstairs in the pot is Oil, and in the crate is an Empty Bottle. Every time Mad Dog asks if you want to make a Molotov Cocktail, say "Yeah..." Head back to the room with everyone. Through the door next to the stairs, one pot has Oil, and two crates have Bourbon and Tequila, respectively. Get out and up the stairs. Left room has a box with a Cigar. Check the dresser in the middle room, then check the dresser in the right room for a Barman's Poster. Ignore the sack of money, and exit the bar. You should have 3 Bourbon, 1 Slingshot, 1 Jacket, 1 Molotov Cocktail, 1 Oil, 1 Tequila, 1 Cigar, and 1 Barman's Poster.
Going clockwise, enter the building to the right. Through the door behind the stairs and hit the box for a Cigar. Continue through the left door, and open the box behind the counter for an Empty Bottle > Molotov Cocktail. I heard the first bell around now. Go up the stairs, skip the right door, and enter the left door. There's another Bourbon to the right of where you enter. Scatter. +1 Bourbon, +1 Molotov Cocktail, +1 Cigar.
Building to the right is the Sheriff's Office. Interact with the middle of the desk for a Cigar, open one of the boxes for a Dynamite, then check the shelf for a Peacemaker. Go upstairs into the room and check the shelf for a Buntline. Get going. +1 Dynamite, +1 Cigar, +1 Peacemaker, +1 Buntline.
Hold down until you're in the next building. Get through the door and open the box right next to you for an Empty Bottle. That's all.
Run left and walk down into the middle of the next building, the Barn. Stand in the middle of the cart and search it for a Shovel, and keep moving.
To the left, enter the middle of the next building. Hit the jar with Oil > Molotov Cocktail. Through the south door, get the Frying Pan off of the wall and the Carrot from the jar. Mosey along. +1 Molotov Cocktail, +1 Frying Pan, +1 Carrot.
Left again, middle of the big building. Into the next room, run under the stairs and go north for a secret room. There's a rope in the box. That'll be all. I heard the second bell on the way out.
Leftways into the next Barn. Middle. Carrot in the downstairs box, Horse Dung in the haystack next to it, Empty Bottle upstairs. Keep moving. +1 Carrot, +1 Horse Dung, +1 Empty Bottle.
North into another barn. Bottom right barrel has Coal Tar, top left boxes both have Carrots. Kick the bricks. +2 Carrot, +1 Coal Tar.
Building to the right. Door behind the stairs has Oil > Molotov Cocktail. Proceed.
Right into the barn next to the bar. Box in the top right has Tequila. Back into the bar.
Final item total: 4 Bourbon, 1 Slingshot, 1 Jacket, 4 Molotov Cocktail, 1 Dynamite, 2 Tequila, 3 Cigar, 1 Barman's Poster, 1 Peacemaker, 1 Buntline, 1 Frying Pan, 1 Shovel, 4 Carrot, 1 Rope, 1 Horse Dung, 1 Coal Tar.
Equip the Peacemakers to both characters Right Hand (Sundown has one in his right hand already) and Buntlines to both characters Left Hand. Equip the Jacket to Sundown. Before doing anything else, save in two slots. You'll need to beat the final boss in two ways. Do all traps first, and do no traps second.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39476 - Reversing the Odds
First, speak to the Sheriff twice and pick "Yeah..." to be able to set characters to set up traps. Give the Slingshot to Billy, the Barman's Poster to the Barman, and the Frying Pan to Annie.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39473 - How Will You Use That, Cowboy?
While Annie's out, rush into the upstairs middle room and take Annie's Nightie from her wardrobe. Third bell. Give all three of the band members Carrots. The middle one came back fast, so give him the Shovel. Give the four men around the table Molotov Cocktails, and the woman standing next to it the fourth Carrot. Give the Sheriff the Dynamite. The bar will be empty, so wait or toggle Fast Forward. The Sheriff got back first, so I gave him the Rope.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39474 - Don't be Stupid!
Next to return was Annie. Show her her nightie. I'm sure she'll be real pleased. She'll keep it, but it's not a trap, so it's fine. Give Annie the Coal Tar. Last who needed to return was the Barman, so I gave him the Horse Dung. You have no more items that can be classified as traps. Fast Forward until the seventh bell. Everyone should be back in by now or soon, so save.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39482 - And Watanabe...
The event will play after the eighth bell rings, and before you see your results. Once you walk out of the bar, if Dio is the only man left standing, Reversing the Odds will trigger. You can either load your save now, or battle Dio to see how he fights.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39478 - The Fastest Finger in the West
So, we're doing things the hard way... Equip the Frying Pan onto Sundown, and fast forward or speak with the Barman until the eighth bell. Including Dio, there will be 15 men outside. Kill 'em all. You have your Molotov Cocktails and Dynamite for a reason. Depending on your use for them, you can kill 8 with those alone. Once you're outta those, Sundown's Piercing Shot and Mad Dog's Texas Jitterbug can handle the rest. Once all but Dio are through, try to stay in his blind spots, away from his diagonals. Tequila is your only area heal, so if someone goes down after you're out, fight like hell.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39480 - A Fine Duel
After the following cutscene, a battle will occur. Run from it. Try not to mix up who's saying what after. You'll get this achievement after the credits.

https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39508 - Watanabe Out
Oersted's strongest attack for a while is V Shine. Just get behind him and use it a few times. Repeat this for the next guy, too. Once you can move, go to the left and right rooms of the castle for some equipment by checking armor, swords and shields on the wall, and barrels or pots. Exit and continue south until you're back inside and do it again. Exit south, and some townspeople will give you more items. Once you're out, you'll gain a party member. Give him equipment too, including the Unicorn Horn.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39509 - Yggdrasil's Leaves
Once you're out in the field, random encounters can trigger. Continue down the path until you reach a sign indicating the Familia Village and Forbidden Land. Go right of it, into a clearing with one greener tree for two Joshua Seeds on the ground. Continue right to the area where the color of the trees change, and go south, inbetween the darker trees. Interacting with any plant down here will trigger the achievement. These items will respawn if you leave and reenter the room.
Once you have enough, exit and continue right, past the Forbidden Land sign. Check the weird wall, then leave. Go back to the Familia Village sign and go left. Speak with the old person outside of a house, then go inside and check the shield on the wall. Go back to the sign and go north on the path. When there's an opening in the trees, go north up Hero Mountain. If you encounter a Nuggiebear while ascending, run away. At the top of the mountain, you'll find a grave. Go southwest until you get to a cabin. Speak with the man, follow him inside, and check his shield on the wall. Return to Familia Village.
By this point, you should have Sword Wind and Hammer Power on Oersted, and Red Cage and Silver Wind on Straybow. Some enemies take more damage depending on the element. If you're not oneshotting enemies, try another element. Back in Familia Village, enter the home of the old man from earlier and check his shield again. After the cutscene, check the shield one more time to get it. Return to the cabin on Hero Mountain. Uranus is an excellent healer, but struggles in attacking. If nobody needs healing, just pass his turn. You may have more of a chance against the Nuggiebear now. The fight will still take a while, so run anyway.
Once you return to the cabin, a cutscene will play, and you'll gain another party member. Grab the shield on the wall, and go back to the grave on the top of the mountain. You'll get the Brion, which must be equipped to Hash. Now that you have a full party and Hash's sword, return to the Forbidden Land wall. Hash's strongest move by far is Jump Shot. Take full advantage of it. Once Hash opens the wall for you, save.
There's some good items in here that you should absolutely get, but if you don't like detours, stay left until you're through a door, then go northeast. It may be wise to pass Oersted's and Straybow's turns so Uranus and Hash can attack faster. Once you're in a more green area, go northwest, then northeast. After you make it to the statue room, it's a good idea to go to the room before and get Oersted to level 8. Before passing through the double doors, save.
Check the demon. Keep Oersted and Straybow where they are and hit it with whatever you can, including battle items. Uranus' Sanctuary won't deal any damage, so keep him healing or using Voice of God. Hash mashes Jump Shot. Straybow will probably die, but that's fine. If it gets too close, use Oersted's Spindle. Eventually, with the Amon Blood's fire field and enough Jump Shots, etc., you will win. After the cutscene, leave the room. Oersted will get a new sword, so head back to the castle with it. Just keep going south, and you'll probably make it out. Random encounters will be off until you return to the castle.
Once you're back in the castle, speak with the King, then enter the room to the left and get in a bed. After the cutscene, leave the room and interact with the demon. After the cutscene, leave the castle and return to Hero Mountain. At the grave, you'll get a cutscene. Afterwards, you can also get another cutscene in a house in Familia Village. After the grave, return to the castle. Interact with the middle of the north wall.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39510 - Enemy of the Kingdom
After the cutscene, exit your cell and just start swinging. Once you're out of the prison, exit north and go to the throne room. You don't have to kill every guard, but they're quick fights worth some EXP, so I think it's worth it. Fast forward if you want. Once back in the throne room, speak with the man sitting on one. The achievement triggers once you do.
Now, leave the castle and get back to the Forbidden Land. Since you're alone, save before entering. You'll find stronger enemies inside. Take the same path as last time, but save before entering each door. Behind the first door is a Claustrophobia. Keep using Hammer Power on it. Behind the second door is a Scotophobia. At level 11, Oersted will learn Jump Shot, so switch to that when you get it. Each of the -Phobias can drop items rarely, but you won't need any except one.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39511 - Hot Stuff
Before entering the third door, save. Behind the third door is four Acrophobias and one Acrophobia Container. Killing the container will Break Down the others. Keep killing it and loading a save until you get the Flame Armor. Behind the fourth door is a Gynophobia. Try to stay away from it as you use Jump Shot. Don't forget about your Naorigusas and Joshua Seeds. Its Sweet Whisper will make you drunk, forcing you to use your most basic attack and move in random directions. After winning, you should be in the statue room. Go to the next room and check the middle of the statue. Proceed through the passage and save before going into the next room. Enter and check the statue.
The final battle may give you a little trouble. I suggest keeping 3 tiles away and mashing Jump Shot. If you get too close to 100 HP, use a couple of Naorigusas. If he moves towards you, move away.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39512 - King of Demons
Save your Medieval clear data in multiple slots. 2 or 3 should suffice. You'll need to load from it 3 times in total.
Dominion of Hate - Oersted (hate!)
For the finale protagonist, select Oersted. If you didn't save Medieval clear data in multiple slots, make absolutely sure you don't save over it. Return to the statue room and save. Pick a statue and check it to start a battle.
https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39514 - Armageddon
You can get this ending as any character, but it's easiest as Oersted playing as O. Dio. Check the top right statue, the one with the guy from Wild West. Stand diagonal of Sundown and Mad Dog, and turn around and pass turns. When you go under 200 HP, your Run command will be replaced by Armageddon. Turn your volume down before selecting it.
Reload your save, and select each Odio incarnation and win. You're the boss, so it won't be too hard. For reference, O. Dio's strongest move is Gatling Shots, OD-10's is Drive Back, Odi Wang Lee's is Kuang Zhuan Yan Wu, Frogsnake Demon's is Drink Blood, O-D-O's is Crushing Bite, Odie Oldbright's is Acro DDO, and Great Inko Statue's is Keruru Story.

https://retroachievements.org/achievement/39538 - The Chosen Hero
While looking through Pogo's inventory, did he have the Cola Bottle equipped? If so, pick him. If not, Masaru's your last hope. If you're Pogo with the Cola Bottle, unequip it and use it in every battle you get into. As Pogo, this will be easy. As Masaru, it won't be. Like last time, go get the Brion from the hero's headstone. On your way there, go to where you'd get your last protagonist as a party member and recruit them, then load an earlier save for the achievement. Other than them, make sure you don't accidentally recruit someone. Don't walk up to Akira, don't check the sign before the Forbidden Land, don't enter the prison cell, don't play with Pogo, don't follow Sundown. This guide will assume you are playing as Masaru. If you're Pogo, you won't need it.
If you learned a skill from a boss in Modern Day, you'll still have it here. If you missed one, you'll learn it through level ups. Use German Suplex or Abise-Geri to fight normal enemies. If something keeps dodging, Tornado Press has it's own set miss rate, so use that instead. If you're surrounded, use Max Bomber. Make your way down to the Naorigusa Grove where Pogo is, but don't play with him. Instead, just farm Naorigusa. I got 20.
As you make your way up the mountain, ignore Masaru's dungeon for now. After you have the Brion, get up to level 7 before trying it. The boss outside might stone you, so save. A strategy I found worked was to stand directly diagonal of it and use Tsuda repeatedly. It has to miss with Silver Fang multiple times, but Tsuda can lower the chance of it connecting. Once Masaru has the Super Bandage, he will deal much more damage. Additionally, the chests in here have the only equipment Masaru can obtain by himself.
Once you're out, head to the Forbidden Land and use the Brion to get in. Like last time, make your way to Oersted. After Odio appears, leave south and fight the Headhunter again. Keep using Tsuda to lower its stats, and use Naorigusas to heal. After winning, you'll get Ariel Boots, which will nullify getting stoned. If you want more protection, run away from 100 battles and fight the Death Prophet again. I wouldn't attempt Pure Odio without it. Strategy is the same with using Tsuda repeatedly. Afterwards, go back to Orca's dungeon and hit level 15, then go to the Naorigusa grove and get about 50.
Return to Oersted. Save before the fight. Phase 1 should be easy enough, just use Tsuda on the parts until it's just one eye and the mole left, then heal before taking out the eye. In phase 2, he can do Saint Alicia into Cancel Ray which can leave you in peril. Use your full heals when this happens. Pick a corner and hope he's not facing it, then use any Fuma Shurikens you have until you're out, then Abise-Geri. If you go under 200 HP, use Naorigusas until you're at around 500. If you go under 100, use a Great Heal, like an Izanagi's Scroll or Potion No.9. Even if you use everything you have, you might still fail. Be patient, and you'll win eventually. Achievement will trigger after you win.
If you picked Pogo, just use the Cola Bottle a few times. It's actually just that easy.
