Importing into Blender

glTF and GLB exports are intended to open directly in Blender.

Importing into Blender

Recommended workflow

  1. Open an asset in Getting Up Modding Tool.
  2. Choose Export.
  3. Select glTF or GLB.
  4. Save the export.
  5. Open Blender.
  6. Select File → Import → glTF 2.0.
  7. Choose the exported file.

Supported exports can include:

  • Model geometry
  • Textures
  • Materials
  • Skeleton information when available

GLB vs glTF

GLB

Good when you want one portable file.

Advantages:

  • Single file
  • Textures can be embedded
  • Easy to share between applications

glTF

Useful when you prefer separate resources that are easier to inspect manually.

Advantages:

  • Individual files can be inspected
  • Textures can be managed separately
  • Better for debugging assets

OBJ

OBJ is useful for basic geometry workflows.

Use glTF/GLB when skeleton and richer material information matter.

Textures

If textures are not automatically assigned:

  1. Open the Material tab in Blender.
  2. Check the material nodes.
  3. Assign exported PNG textures manually.

Animation warning

The animation visible in Getting Up Modding Tool is not exported.

The mesh is exported in default bind pose. Importing into Blender
