An Ideal is an aspiration - something a character will strive towards achieving. There are some Ideals that are linked to Archetypes (e.g. Knight or Lady) and those that are independent (e.g. Chivalrous Knight

Attributes

If the Ideal is on a character sheet then the first two fields will be available - if it's not yet been added to a character they won't be visible.

Requirements Met - this tickbox can not be toggled on/off. If the box is ticked the character has met the requirements of the ideal (listed below).

Joined - once the character has met the Ideal requirements and wants to join the relevant group then tick the box. Any Active Effects on the Ideal will only be applied to the character if they have joined the group. If for any reason the character no longer meets the requirements they will not automatically be excluded from the group - this needs to be a discussion with the GM, but you can untick the box (and the Active Effects will no longer apply)

Age - enter the minimum age to achieve the ideal or leave blank if there is no requirement

Trait Group - add the traits that a character needs to meet this ideal and the total required score across all those traits. Drag the relevant traits to the drop box.

Skill Group - add the skills that a character must have some of to this box, dropping the skill will then ask for the requisite score. You also need to enter the number of these skills the character must have.

Individual Requirements - you can add skills, traits and passions and the scores you need in each item. Dragging an item to the requirements opens up a dialogue box to enter the score. If you want to add an "opposing" trait (e.g You want Proud 16 rather than Modest 16) enter the score as a negative value - the opposing trait name will be displayed with a positive score. If you want to change the score later you will need to delete the item and then add it again.

Benefits

Benefits - enter the benefits you gain if the Ideal is active (i.e. you still meet the requirements). Please note that as of system v14.21 most of these benefits no longer have an effect and should be replaced with Active Effects. The once exception is Passive Glory. The other fields will be deleted in due course.

Protection from Magic - tick this box if the Ideal confirs Protection from Magic. This is not yet represented by an Active Effect.

Not all benefits are automated (e.g. the protection from Magic and Miracles - these should be noted in the description tab and players will need to adjust for these manually).

Luck Benefits - drag and drop the relevant Luck Benefit table to the Ideal. This is used for Ideals linked to (embedded in) Archetypes during character creation.
