Your farm records matter, so this is one of the most important parts of FarmPath to set up early.
Open Settings > Backup & Sync to manage protection for your data.
- iCloud Sync
- Manual file backup export
- Manual file backup import
- Auto Sync
- Family farm sharing by iCloud share link
- Debug log sharing
- Data Import / Export
The current app flow is built around iCloud sync and manual file backups.
Keep these points in mind:
- iCloud sync is intended for supported iOS devices
- An active FarmPath subscription is required for iCloud sync and family sharing
- Auto Sync runs when enabled and the app opens or goes into the background
- Sync Now also creates an automatic local backup snapshot
If you want to share a farm with family members:
- On the owner device, open Backup & Sync
- Create a Share Link
- Send the link to the other person
- On the invited device, accept the link
- Set the invited device to Shared (Family Farm)
- Tap Sync Now
The owner device can stay on Private (My iCloud).
Even if you use sync, it is smart to make occasional manual backup exports, especially before:
- Large imports
- Device changes
- Seasonal cleanup work
- Testing a new workflow
Open Settings > Backup & Sync > Open Data Import / Export when you need to move data in or out of the app.
The current import flow is centered on:
- Sales
- Expenses
- Losses
It can also match imported data against your existing:
- Products
- Places
- Vehicles
- Payment Sources
- Use the built-in templates whenever possible
- Turn on Use first row as headers when importing template-based files
- Review suspected duplicates before final import
- Recompute mileage after imports if needed
- Use Resave All Sales + Expenses if older records need a cleanup pass
If sync is not behaving as expected:
- Open Backup & Sync
- Try Sync Now
- Check whether the correct iCloud scope is selected
- Use Reset Status or Full Resync if needed
- Share Debug Logs if support needs details
