Dashboard

The Dashboard gives you an at-a-glance summary of your dictation activity. It combines the upstream usage tiles with Linux-specific additions that surface how reliably your text is landing and how your individual dictations break down.

The Dashboard showing the Words, WPM, Apps, and Time-saved tiles

Tiles

The Dashboard is built from the upstream tiles plus the Linux branch additions described in the project README.

Tile What it means
Words per minute Your dictation throughput — how many words you produce per minute of speaking.
Top apps The applications you dictate into most often.
Time saved An estimate of the time saved by dictating instead of typing.
Insertion reliability How reliably transcribed text was inserted into the target application. A Linux addition that reflects the per-app text-insertion strategy in use.
Average words The average number of words per dictation.
Average duration The average length of a single dictation.

Insights, insertion reliability, top apps, and writing-assist counters

Upstream usage tiles

  • Words per minute tracks how fast you dictate, measured across your transcriptions.
  • Top apps highlights where your dictation actually goes, which pairs well with Profiles and per-app Text insertion strategies.
  • Time saved estimates the productivity gain from speaking instead of typing.

Linux additions

The Linux branch adds three tiles on top of the upstream set:

  • Insertion reliability — a metric for how reliably your transcribed text reaches the target app. Because Linux insertion depends on the active session and tooling (see Text insertion and Wayland notes), this tile helps you spot when text is failing to land.
  • Average words — the mean word count per dictation.
  • Average duration — the mean length of each dictation.

Related pages

  • Dictation — the workflow that feeds these metrics.
  • Text insertion — affects the insertion-reliability metric.
  • History — the underlying record of your transcriptions.
  • Profiles — per-app and per-URL behavior reflected in top apps.
