Alerts and ROM Pop ups
QF head units cover the screen with their own pop-ups (calls, doors, parking radar, climate). Dashwheel can show its own instead, dressed in your theme.
Settings → Pop-ups. One style per alert, each with a live Try it:
| Style | |
|---|---|
| Pill | A small bar at the top |
| Card | A card in a corner |
| Banner | A strip across the screen |
| Side panel | Full height on one side (the door alert draws the car from above with the open doors) |
| Full screen | A dimmed modal |
Kinds: calls, doors, parking radar, climate, tyres, seat belt, volume, messages, Gemini. Alerts can be spoken (Settings → Sound and voice → What the car says). Alert colours come with a word, not colour alone.
Made for driving:
- Several alerts at once line up: the most important keeps its place, the others go under it or shrink to the pill, and a call's buttons stay clear.
- Calls use the panel or full screen only while ringing; a tap outside shrinks it to the pill, which has big Answer / Decline buttons set apart.
- Tyre and door alerts in a big design shrink to the pill after 8 s on the move; tap to bring them back. Parked, the door alert keeps the design you chose; door pop-ups stay a card while parked.
- Climate pop-ups never cover the map.
- Reversing hides alerts and holds the voice (checked again every 2 s).
- After CarPlay or Android Auto, alerts come back in your chosen design.
| Pop-up | How | Needs |
|---|---|---|
| Call screen | Settings → Pop-ups → Calls | QF firmware |
| Doors | Settings → Pop-ups → Doors | Root or the one-time WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS grant |
| Volume bar | Settings → Pop-ups → Volume: Dashwheel's pill, card, banner or side panel instead of the unit's grey bar | Magisk; takes over at the next start (GitHub edition) |
| Radar | Drawn over the reversing camera | Accessibility service; data needs the grant or root |
| Climate, seat belt | From the CAN box | Grant or root |
Calls still answer from the steering wheel; sound and microphone stay on the unit's hands-free.
Status: call, door and volume bar replacement car-tested on the K706; other kinds emulator-tested. See Root and PMPatch3.
