Themes and Skins

Settings → Look → Dashboard theme. Every theme has a light and a dark version.
Day and night (Settings → Look): Light, Dark or Auto. Auto asks what switches it:
- Car: the unit's night mode, the headlights (QF units) and dusk.
- Sun: sunrise and sunset where the car is, worked out on the unit without internet; shows today's times.
- Set times: when the light version starts and when the dark one starts.
The second screen's brightness follows the same choice. Status: emulator-tested, new on 2026-10-09 (fixes a dashboard that stayed dark at midday on units whose night signal never turns off).
Auto, Original (the first look), Aurora Glass, Neon Dark, Clean Light, Dark Glass, Sporty, Floating (no tile backgrounds), Mistral (inspired by the C4 Picasso's cluster), Zénith, the four Cabins themes (Luxury Classic, Eco Leaf, Cyber Sport, Nordic Minimal), and Canvas (map behind glass, see Dashboards and Tiles).
A skin draws its own background, top bar and main widgets:
| Skin | Look |
|---|---|
| Orbit | Everything round: a spinning record, ring gauges, bubbles |
| Cockpit | Chrome-ringed analog dials and toggle switches on stitched leather |
| Horizon | No widgets, an evening scene with the road ahead and type on it |
| Tape Deck | 80s synthwave head unit: cassette, neon grid, seven-segment digits |
When Google Maps is docked, the skin frames it too (porthole, chrome bezel, CRT bezel, soft fade); touches go straight through to Maps.
Settings → Look → Dashboard theme → Show all … themes:
| Skin | Look |
|---|---|
| Futuristic | Your car as a cyan hologram over a moving light grid, its readings pointed out on it, cut-corner HUD panels |
| Simple | Huge readable figures, your car lit as in a showroom, frosted glass and a gold Talk button |
| Modern | Frosted glass cards over a city in 3D, the route glowing, a fuel suggestion when the tank runs low |
| Motorsport | A race car display: shift lights, an LCD gear, tyre pressures around your car, sector times, a frame in the flag's colour |
| Anime | Comic panels in a sunset or night sky with petals; your car as a pink sticker that speaks the next turn |
| Racing | A neon night drive with a striped sun, a racing game's dial, banner and minimap |
Every one has a day version, works upright, and goes plain with Legibility effects off. Status: emulator only.
After the C4 Picasso's cabin, in night blue and day pearl:
- Speed: a curved glass band across the tile, like the car's wide central display: a big glowing speed with the limit sign and the gear, lit rev segments on the left, fuel segments with the range and coolant on the right. While guiding, the next turn takes the revs' place.
- Range: your car on a lit plinth, with doors, fuel, tyres, battery and servicing beside it (amber when something is due). Your own car when imported, a drawn MPV otherwise.
- Directions and music on glass cards with large music keys; every other widget sits on Panorama's glass.
- The bar is a steering wheel with a fixed hub: Talk in the hub, Apps, Layout, OBD and the menu on the rim, the clock and the outside temperature in the corners.
Works upright. Status: emulator only.
- Skin backgrounds (grids, roads, petals, light sweeps) hold still while the car moves and come back to life once it stops; needles, clocks and status lights keep moving.
- Every look turns the speed amber the same way: over the road's limit when it is known, else from 110 km/h.
- Turn arrows in Cockpit, Motorsport and Racing follow the navigation's own turn, so a street called "Brighton Rd" no longer reads as a right turn.
- Accent-coloured words are darker where they were hard to read in the sun, and no text is under 14 sp in Futuristic, Modern, Motorsport, Racing and Anime.
- Widgets a look doesn't redraw sit on that look's own panel (Racing's HUD glass, Anime's sticker, Futuristic's plate...), so a page reads as one design.
Calls, doors, tyres, belt, radar and climate alerts are dressed in the theme's style (glass, halo, chrome, neon…). See Alerts and ROM Pop-ups.
