PROCESO FINALIZADO CON ÉXITO. Caravelo ya tiene su Senior Backend Engineer :)

Introduction

Hi there! This time we are helping out our friends from Caravelo to find a new member for their family: an experienced Backend Engineer with Java superpowers 🔥

Caravelo is a travel tech company based in the amazing and sunny Barcelona. They are specialized in solutions for the aviation industry with their platforms Aliseo and Nina. Aliseo improves airlines revenue by supporting the management of inventories, upgrades, ancillaries, baggage, etc. While Nina is a chatbot to communicate with travelers. But we know what you’d love to know… TECHNOLOGIES! No problem, Caravelo publishes their technology stack in Stackshare :)

Their IT team is steadily growing to stay at the forefront of innovation and keep building the next generation of their platforms.

If you are passionate about pragmatic and quality architectures, about travel tech and working in an awesome company, just let us know! We’ll go with your through the whole process to make sure you SHINE and success :)

What you’ll do

You will be part of the IT team, working on the implementation of new features and customer plugins. As a senior engineer, you will use your experience and knowledge to influence the existing and upcoming architectures, standards and methods.

In Caravelo, technology is a serious matter, so they’ll be more than happy if you happen to promote new technologies, tools and services. Innovation is key in any department at Caravelo: everyone contributes to the future of the business.

Other relevant aspects of your daily job are related to data protection and information security, like complying with the standards of information security 👮‍♀️, procedures and internal guidelines 🔐

Since you are an experienced Backend Engineer, you should be happy to work independently in a group, enjoy sharing your expertise with junior team members and have a good sense of humour.

But let’s get down to the nitty-gritty. Integrating the different product lines with Airlines' reservation and payment systems (Sabre, Amadeus, Navitaire); developing new REST APIs; Personalise and adapting the existing product lines to our partners needs… YES, most of this is backend, but if you have frontend knowledge, you’ll get extra points!

After 1 month...

You’ll already know everyone in Caravelo, what every department does and which are the technical and business challenges. You’ll start with small tasks to make those initial days less uphill, these will be understanding how the team works, the base code and work dynamics.

You’ll be joining the architectural meetings and start discussing the decisions.

After 3 months...

Daily ceremonies are not a mystery anymore! You’ll be able to work on your own, or at least, know who to ask :) After these three months, you'll be responsible for a part of the platform: designing new modules, refactoring existing code and… NOT LETTING ANYBODY BREAK IT. Just kidding, or maybe not…

After 6 months...

Your team’s been working together for a few sprints already, you’ll review budgets and analyze future needs. Not to mention that at this point you know the whole architecture and modules and you’ll be able to decide in which area you’d rather focus.

If you’re interested in growing further, you’ll be able to lead a team, make the most of all its members and be DA technical reference. It’s been six months, do you think you could design a brand new plugin for a customer? and a new product line?
