make_edits_link
This function generates a neuroglancer link showing all the edits for a given segment as line annotations. The link also contains the current segmentation in cyan and the largest original segment in its lineage in red, with 3D opacity adjusted to 0.99. These settings cause any overlap between the largest original segment and the current segment to turn grey, showing what's remained unchanged. They also cause pieces added to display as cyan and pieces removed to display as red for ease of analysis.
Arguments:
-
datastack(string, mandatory)- the name of the CAVE datastack the segment ID is from
-
seg_id(integer, mandatory)- the ID of the segment you want the edit link for
Returns:
-
link(string)- the url for the NG state with the requested segment's edits
The code below generates an edit link for the segment 720575941515375171 in the brain_and_nerve_cord datastack.
INPUT:
import tracertools as tt
edits_link = tt.make_edits_link(
datastack = "brain_and_nerve_cord",
seg_id = 720575941515375171,
)
print(edits_link)

This tool only shows edits with locations in the final segment, and doesn't show splits made to remove mergers on regions of segments that were then subsequently split again before being attached to the segment of interest. For example, if a segment is split into segments A and B, and then segment B is split into segments C and D, then segment D is merged into the main segment of interest, then the A-B split will only show up if it occurred somewhere on segment D. If it instead occurred somewhere on segment C, it won't be included in this link, despite being part of the overall proofreading process for this neuron.
Note
While the coordinates of the merge edits represent the exact locations laid down by the proofreader, the split point coordinates represent an average of all the individual coordinates generated by the automated cut tool, and so may be slightly distorted in some cases.
