Across the arc

In Construction, Fern holds the world championship spot at the top of the ladder. The protagonist climbs through coach-led rounds at each lower tier, meets the world volley record at the final milestone, and duels Fern. Fern exits at the break: the win lands wrong, and Construction is broken open.

What happens to the world championship spot during Reconstruction and Postgame is open. Fern has no Reality counterpart; in Reality the spot Fern would occupy is the absence the protagonist walks past.
