ROM Hacks
PKForge supports these ROM hacks with their own data (species, moves, items, forms), so they display and edit correctly:

The hack is detected from the save itself (Unbound and GS Chronicles by their save signature, Radical Red by its section layout, Luminescent Platinum by its size and header, Compass by a marker in the save). Link the emulator folder as usual.
- No legality verdict on Unbound, Radical Red, GS Chronicles and Luminescent Platinum: legality data only exists for official games, so their Pokémon are neither marked legal nor illegal.
- No batch tools on the GBA hacks (Battle prep, Batch editor, Random team…).
- Not in the Living Dex Autopilot, which never touches ROM hack saves.
- Pokémon can be exported and imported as
.pk3files on the GBA hacks.
Many hacks keep the official save format, and those open as their base game. Others (for example hacks built on pokeemerald-expansion) change the format without saying so. When PKForge sees species it cannot place in the base game, it warns you:
UNSUPPORTED ROM HACK — This looks like a ROM hack. PKForge detected it but its engine is not built for this game: Pokémon, moves or items may show wrong and editing can damage the save. Continue at your own risk.
You can then Browse read-only (nothing can be written) or Edit at my own risk. The choice is remembered for that save. Layouts that would certainly be corrupted are always read-only.
