Enchanting items

All equipment, armor, weapons, and ammo have an "Enchantments" tab. Spells can be dragged from Spell Lists onto the item sheet and they will be added to the table on the tab.

If the effect of a spell enchantment has been automated with the RMU system it will show a "sparkle" icon before its name in both the spell list and on the Enchantments tab. Some echantments can also be customised, such as the Crit Negation effect in the image above, which has a drop down to select "Any" or specific critical types. Multiple copies of the same spell can be added if you want to add more than one effect of the same type.

Spell List showing spells whose enchantment effects are automated

If you drag an enchanted item to an actor (character or creature) and equip it (clicking the hand icon on the Inventory tab, if it has an automated enchantment effect that affects the actor directly it will be shown in the Effects table on the Conditions and effects tab. Note that if the enchantmented effect only affects the item (e.g., adds a magical OB bonus to a weapon) it will not be shown in the Effects table, but its bonus will still be applied.

The Effects table shows the source of the effect (the item's name), the enchantment(s) and any bonuses it is applying to the actor. You can open the item from this table using the edit button (which is the same as using the edit button for the item in the Inventory tab).

Enchantment automation

Not all enchantment spells have been automated but more will be automated over time, so it is worthwhile still adding spells to the item, even if they have no direct affect today. This includes features like adding castable spells to items, etc.
