Using the Official Compendiums
The system (which includes Core Law), and the official modules (Spell Law, Treasure Law and Creature Law I) include a Journal containing the full contents of the book, plus additional compendiums which contain pre-made actors (creatures) and items contained in the books ready to be used either by adding them to your actors or being dragged directly to the canvas.
The Core Law compendiums contain Foundry items needed to create playable characters or creatures including races, cultures, professions, skills, and talents/flaws. It also contains a compendium of all equipment and accessories found in the book, including armor and weapons. All are ready to be used on characters.
- See Character Creation and Levelling Up for how to use races, cultures, professions and talents/flaws.
- See Inventory for more information on using equipment and accessories.

The Spell Law compendium contains Foundry items needed to spellcasting including all spells and spell lists. In most cases these are added to actors during Character Creation or Levelling Up.
The Treasure Law compendium includes additional professions, spells, spell lists, and equipment and accessories (and magic items). Again, these are usually added to actors during Character Creation or Levelling Up, or dragged to Inventory.
The Creature Law compendium contains every creature included in the book, pre-created and ready to use by dragging it to either the sidebar or directly to the canvas.
If you have set up Forgotten Adventures Topdown Tokens (see Recommended General Compatible Modules), then dragging a creature to the canvas will generate the token with pre-made token art which might be randomised if more than one variant is available.
Likewise, if the creature's description says it might carry weapons or armor, then these will also be randomly generated when the creature is dragged to the canvas from an appropriate selection based on either the skills the creature has or its descriptive text.
The compendium also includes all the additional talents and flaws published in the book, which can be used on any actor during Character Creation or Levelling Up.
Although some compendia include Roll Tables, e.g. for attacks or criticals, in most cases you will never need to use these. Instead, access them via the in-game Scene Attacks and Scene Criticals, which offer much more functionality.
