Vehicle Guidance Domain

In Executable UML we use the term 'domain' differently than it is in the ADAS world. A domain is defined as a distinct subject matter. Its definition gives us the criteria for deciding which details to put in our models and which details to leave out.

Our modeling methodology defines a 'domain' as an internally consistent subject matter. All concepts within a given subject matter should be at the same level of abstraction. The Vehicle Guidance domain refers to all the things (static and dynamic) in the driving environment that influence how an Ego Vehicle operates. For example,

The Vehicle Guidance domain is focused on the driving environment and how the Ego Vehicle is guided and constrained by that environment, hence the name.
