Machine interfaces
Press E (Interact) or right-click a placed machine to open its controls. The left panel shows a large illustration and the name of the machine you opened. Your backpack stays in the middle, with that machine’s controls on the right and the item catalog beside them.
The picture uses the same artwork as the machine’s inventory item. It identifies the machine type; read the status and meters on the right for its current operation, power, stored energy or water. Tank and battery bank fittings show the particular part you opened.

For a Crusher, put ingredients in INPUT and collect products from OUTPUT. The status explains what it needs to work. For powered setups, follow Pipes and Electricity and batteries.

A Battery Block shows stored energy and its charge/output rates beside the mode controls. Its illustration stays the same as charge changes; the meter and numbers show the current amount.

Furnaces, Chests, Workbenches and the Machinist’s Bench use the same illustration panel. Their existing slots, crafting grids and controls work as before. Shift-click transfers items; the catalog still provides recipes and uses.
Close the station and open your personal inventory to see your character portrait again. Appearance and equipped armor remain available.
All item-accepting receivers now have ITEM PRIORITY with an editable number. Higher priorities receive first and compatible ties round-robin. Powered machines’ POWER setting remains separate. See Item-pipe routing.

Furnace and Electric Furnace captures: native Windows player, 2026-09-19. The earlier Crusher/Battery illustrations retain their 2026-09-12 capture dates. These are staged in-game examples.
