1. Agenda

  • Discuss teacher’s action plan (elicitation & validation process)
  • Review existing elicitation questions

2. Key Points Discussed

  • Discussed whether the application should enforce a time restriction on stories (e.g., only recent history vs. allowing older historical content such as 1500s) given the concept of a living history platform.
  • Identified and brainstormed potential user groups for the application.
  • Discussed possible incentive mechanisms to encourage users to upload stories and contribute content.
  • Considered what the user should see on the first screen when opening the application.
  • Discussed surveying similar or related applications for inspiration and feature comparison.
  • Discussed whether live location data should be used to suggest nearby stories to users.
  • Discussed who to contact first as customers for initial meetings.
  • Discussed using a form-based system to gather feedback from potential users (e.g., history and architecture students).

3. Decisions

  • Defined potential user groups as: young–middle-aged adults living in a neighborhood, history students and professionals, architecture students and professionals (especially those interested in building histories), citizens living in areas undergoing urban transformation (“kentsel dönüşüm”), and tourists.
  • Agreed to explore incentive mechanisms such as badge or reputation systems, and to examine platforms like Google Maps, TripAdvisor, and Yandex Maps for inspiration on motivating contributions and user interaction patterns.
  • Agreed that the first screen should present a globe-style world map to make the experience more exploratory and game-like, include a search bar for goal-oriented users, and place tutorials within the navigation rather than as the main landing screen.
  • Decided that one team member should initiate a draft form for user questions, while all members contribute to refining and filling it.
  • Decided to first meet with Kutay Hoca to refine and validate ideas, then meet with Utkan Hoca, and afterwards begin meetings with students and long-term local residents.
