SongSmiths

Weftborn architects of music, called to their craft the way other Threadlings are called to a trade or a coven. Where a SeedSinger sings the living world into growth, a SongSmith forges, binding raw Spirit into lasting Song, composition sturdy enough to outlive the moment of its singing and be carried, note for note, across generations.

Their work is prized, and in the Song Sanctuaries especially, considered a form of Weave-mending in its own right. A SongSmith's finished work can hold the memory of a name, or an entire vanished community in its structure long after the story behind it might otherwise have faded. It is precise work. Some say science, while others call it magic. Either way, it's dangerous - A Song crafted with uneven tension can project too much Spirit and take on a will of its own, too little and it will not hold and might unravel mid-performance, and take a piece of its maker, or even its audience with it.
