Summary

  • Replace deploy.yml with release.yml — creates GitHub Releases on v* tag push with auto-generated changelog
  • Add shared/bin/aletheia-update — self-update bash script with preflight checks, conditional npm ci, runtime + UI builds, service restart, health check, and auto-rollback on failure
  • Add daemon/update-check.ts — polls GitHub releases API every 6h, writes update availability to blackboard for UI consumption
  • Add version.ts module — reads version from package.json at runtime, replaces all hardcoded version strings across entry.ts, mcp.ts, mcp-client.ts, server.ts
  • Add aletheia update CLI command — delegates to the update script with --edge, --check, --rollback flags
  • Health endpoint now returns version in response

Test plan

  • TypeScript typecheck clean
  • 10 new tests pass (version module + update-check daemon)
  • Runtime builds successfully (449KB)
  • Cut first release tag after merge to verify workflow
  • Run aletheia update --check on server
  • Run aletheia update --edge to test edge update path
