Summary

Two new design specs:

  • Spec 18 — Integrated IDE: Embedded CodeMirror editor in the web UI with multi-tab support, agent edit notifications via SSE, file operations (create/delete/rename), clickable file paths in chat, and workspace search. ~545 LOC across 5 phases. Builds on existing FileEditor (already writable with save/dirty/Cmd+S) and workspace API endpoints.

  • Spec 24 — Recursive Self-Improvement: Layered RSI architecture informed by Darwin Godel Machine, Live-SWE-agent, AlphaEvolve, and 6 other systems. Covers: systematic self-evaluation loops, calibration-driven delegation, memory self-curation, pipeline self-configuration, test-gated runtime code patching with cross-agent review, and evolutionary configuration search. ~1175 LOC across 6 phases. Three-layer safety architecture (frozen model / test-gated / self-modifiable) with scope restrictions, rate limits, and audit trails.

Test plan

  • Specs are internally consistent (file paths verified against codebase)
  • Cross-references with existing specs (17, 18-extensibility, 19, 20, 22, 23) are accurate
  • No code changes — docs only

Spec 18: Embedded CodeMirror editor in web UI — multi-tab, agent edit
notifications, file operations, clickable paths, workspace search.
Builds on existing FileEditor (already writable) and workspace API.

Spec 24: Layered recursive self-improvement — self-eval loops,
calibration-driven delegation, memory curation, pipeline config,
test-gated code patching, evolutionary config search. Informed by
DGM, Live-SWE-agent, AlphaEvolve research. Three-layer safety
architecture (frozen/test-gated/self-modifiable).

Existing specs 18 (Extensibility) and 24 (Aletheia Linux) already occupy
those numbers. Renumber Integrated IDE to 25 and Recursive Self-Improvement
to 26.

## Summary

- Audit PRs 82-88 for unjustified capability removal
- Fix migrate-memory persistence bug (was writing to in-memory CozoDB)
- Fix pre-existing graph-algo compilation errors blocking aletheia
binary
- Validate migration against production Qdrant data

## PR 82-88 Audit Results

| PR | Title | Verdict | Notes |
|----|-------|---------|-------|
| #82 | fix: memory sidecar env var race + set slicing crash | OK |
TS/Python bug fixes for infrastructure the Rust stack replaces |
| #83 | feat(memory): Memory Pipeline (all 6 phases) | OK | Turn-facts,
entity resolver, MMR recall — all reimplemented in Rust mneme |
| #84 | docs: Spec 18 + Spec 24 | OK | Documentation only, no code
changes |
| #85 | feat: post-distillation priming + sufficiency gates | OK |
Distillation priming is TS session-layer; recall gates map to Rust
RecallWeights |
| #86 | feat: multi-spec batch (6 specs) | OK | Sub-agent guards,
doctor, graph UI, tool stats — TS/UI features still active |
| #87 | fix: tool stats payload key mismatch | OK | One-line TS fix,
still active code |
| #88 | docs: sync spec statuses | OK | Archived 8 completed specs, no
capability changes |

**Verdict: No unjustified capability removal.** All deleted code was
refactored within the same PR or belongs to infrastructure replaced by
the Rust stack. No surgical reverts needed.

## Migration Persistence Fix

The `migrate-memory` CLI command previously used
`KnowledgeStore::open_mem_with_config()` — all migrated data was lost
when the process exited.

**Changes:**
- Non-dry-run mode now uses `KnowledgeStore::open_redb()` for persistent
storage
- Added `--knowledge-path` CLI arg (defaults to `Oikos::knowledge_db()`)
- Dry-run mode keeps in-memory store (no side effects)
- Added `mneme-engine` + `storage-redb` to `migrate-qdrant` feature deps
- Fixed payload field mapping: tries `data` then `memory` for content,
`confidence` then `score` for scores

## Migration Results

Qdrant source: 492 points in `aletheia_memories` collection (1024-dim
cosine vectors)

```
agent: main    -- 12 fetched, 0 duplicates removed, 12 imported, 0 flagged
agent: unknown -- 480 fetched, 0 duplicates removed, 480 imported, 0 flagged
Total: 492 imported, 0 deduplicated, 0 flagged
```

Persistent redb file: 8.6MB at `instance/data/knowledge.redb`

## Graph-algo Compilation Fixes

Pre-existing errors in the CozoDB engine's `fixed_rule` module prevented
the `aletheia` binary from compiling with default features (`recall`
enables `mneme-engine` which enables `graph-algo`).

- Added `BadExprValueError` struct (used by astar, random_walk
algorithms)
- Wrapped `AdhocError` in `Box::new()` for `Option<Box<dyn Error>>`
assignments
- Imported `bail!` macro in `fixed_rule/mod.rs`
- Added `DbResult as Result` import to `pagerank.rs`
- Removed 2 unfulfilled lint expectations from `lib.rs`
- Fixed `let_and_return` clippy lint in `shortest_path_dijkstra.rs`

## Test Plan

- [x] `cargo test -p aletheia-mneme` — 183 tests pass
- [x] `cargo clippy -p aletheia-mneme --all-targets -- -D warnings` —
clean
- [x] `cargo clippy -p aletheia -p aletheia-mneme --all-targets -- -D
warnings` — clean
- [x] `cargo check -p aletheia` — compiles (default features)
- [x] `cargo check -p aletheia --features migrate-qdrant` — compiles
- [x] Dry-run migration: 492 points found, 0 flagged
- [x] Live migration: 492 facts persisted to redb, 8.6MB file

Note: `cargo clippy --workspace` has a pre-existing integration-tests
error (NousManager argument count mismatch) unrelated to this PR.
