Summary

  • Layout.svelte: Simplify auth mode branching — !getToken() === false was evaluating as Boolean(getToken()) (confusing but correct), replaced with explicit logic
  • Layout.svelte: Wrap all localStorage calls in try/catch — Safari private mode throws SecurityError on any localStorage access, crashing the app before rendering
  • stream.ts: Log SSE parse failures with console.warn instead of silently swallowing them — malformed events are still skipped but are now visible in devtools
  • toast.svelte.ts: Track auto-dismiss timeout IDs so manual dismissToast() cancels the pending timer — previously the timer always fired after 5s even if the toast was already dismissed
  • TopBar.svelte: Replace catch { /* ignore */ } with console.warn on the update check fetch — silent failures make debugging connectivity issues impossible

Test plan

  • Open app in Safari/Firefox private/incognito mode — must load without crash
  • Show a toast, manually dismiss before 5s — no JS errors from the timer firing after dismiss
  • Temporarily break a streaming response in devtools — SSE parse error: appears in console
  • cd ui && npm run build — clean

fix: skip highlight.js during streaming to unblock browser main thread

Markdown rendering during streaming ran marked.parse() + highlight.js +
DOMPurify on the full accumulated text every 100ms debounce flush.
For code-heavy responses this blocked the main thread continuously,
making buttons and input unresponsive until the agent finished.

- Add renderMarkdownFast() — same markdown structure, HTML-escape only for
  code blocks (no highlight.js). Syntax highlighting fires once after turn ends.
- Markdown.svelte: streaming prop switches to fast renderer + skips the
  querySelectorAll copy-button scan on every flush.
- MessageList.svelte: cancel previous rAF before queuing new scroll call;
  drop activeToolCalls.length from scroll effect (not a scroll trigger).
