Fishing
This content is only available in 1.20.1
Frikinzi's Fauna adds a custom fishing system that allows players an alternative method to easily catch, discover, and store the mod's fish species.
To catch Frikinzi's Fauna fish, you must use a Baited Rod, a regular fishing rod combined with bait (either Fish Food or Algae Wafer)
Bait can be attached to a fishing rod using Fish Food or Algae Wafers. The bait count is shown in the item tooltip.
| Bait Item | Description |
|---|---|
|
|
Bait for omnivores/carnivores such as goldfish |
|
|
Bait for herbivores such as Tang |
Each cast consumes one piece of bait. Without bait, only the normal vanilla fishing loot can be caught.
- Cast the Baited Rod into water with fish entities
- Nearby Frikinzi's Fauna fish will swim toward the hook
- Wait for a bite and reel in as normal
When reeled in, the fish is flung toward the player, allowing for easy capture with a Fishing Net Item (or a Bucket, if bucketable). If you have the Field Guide in your inventory, the fish is automatically discovered and a discovery message appears in chat.
If the player has a Fishing Storage Bin item, the fish will be automatically stored in the bin instead of being flung towards the player.
The Fish Storage Bin is an item that stores up to 10 fish from Frikinzi's Fauna. When you reel in a fish with a bin in your inventory, the fish is automatically stored inside.
Right-click the bin while aimed at a block/water to open the release interface. Select a fish and it will be released into the position at your cursor position.
Hovering over the bin in your inventory shows how many/what fish are stored out of the maximum capacity.
