Stilts are long-legged wading birds found near wetlands and coastlines. There are 6 species.

Behavior

Movement

Stilts are flying birds that walk on the ground when not airborne. Being diurnal, they sleep at night. Stilts are skittish and will flee from players within 8 blocks, running and flying away quickly.

Flocking

Stilts follow a flock leader and gather in groups of up to 10.

Breeding

Stilts can be bred with raw shrimp. They lay up to 4 eggs.

Sexual Dimorphism

Most stilt species display visible differences between males and females (females have lighter wings). The Black Stilt and Banded Stilt do not have separate male/female appearances.

Spawn

Stilts spawn near swamp biomes.
