Parrotfish are colorful reef fish found in warm ocean biomes. There are 12 species. They display sexual dimorphism between males and females and can be caught in a bucket. They school in groups of up to 10.

Movement

Parrotfish swim slowly through the water. If on land, they will flop and eventually die.

Timidity

Parrotfish are shy and will flee from players within 8 blocks.

Coral Feeding

Adult parrotfish will actively seek out and feed on coral blocks and coral plants. When eating, they play a crunching animation and sound, and emit coral particle effects. They will feed for an extended period before moving on. Baby parrotfish do not feed on coral.

Breeding

Parrotfish can be fed Algae Wafers to breed.

Spawn

Parrotfish spawn in warm ocean and coral reef biomes in groups of 3-5.
